You can do it. You did the hardest part, which is starting.

I need this motivation this month! I weigh every day, but I exercise on the weekends--so there are fluctuations. Long way to go to reach my back-to-running weight. 10/01: 309.2 10/02: 308.9 10/03: 310.4 10/04: 309.7 10/05: 309.1 10/06: 309.5 10/07: 307.0 10/08: 306.2 10/09: 306.0 10/10: 308.0 10/11: 10/12: 10/13: 10/14:…

I lost weight for a man. Myself. I'm down 260+ pounds. Never felt better.

I used a vivofit for several months before upgrading to a 920xt. The vivofit is excellent: 1 year battery life, connects to ANT+ HRM, etc.

I started right here in this group at 419 pounds on June 23, 2013. I have been maintaining at 155 pounds for six months, after losing over 260 pounds. The first people who became my friends here on MFP still log in frequently, and I couldn't have had the success I've had without their help and support. So I do know how it…

Lose the weight, stay quit, and find out if you're a depressed, miserable skinny non-smoker. The worst that can happen is that you improve your health.
-
It has been very inspirational to watch your commitment and progress over the 7 months we've been MFP friends. You demonstrate focus and determination in your actions and your results. I have total faith that you will reach whatever goal you set for yourself--not just in your health, but also in the rest of your life.

Been there. Check out my profile. It is possible.

I run 5km after work quite frequently. I eat a normal lunch, come home, feed the cat, run 5km, then have a normal dinner. If I was running a 5km race in the morning, I'd eat a normal dinner and run the 5km before breakfast. YMMV.

I lost 260+ pounds starting age 45. Am 47 now. Started at 419, weighed 155 this AM. I think weight loss is probably possible at any age.

After I lost 200 pounds I was still 60 pounds overweight. I understand. I focused on percentage goals toward my final goal. So I'd celebrate every 10% towards the finish line. Don't give up. If you have the willpower to lose 187 pounds you can lose any amount more you choose.

Hi, and welcome. I started at 419 pounds. Currently weigh 155 pounds, 12% body fat and normal BMI. That's a loss of 264 pounds. My major change was the amount of focus I placed on understanding my food intake. At 400+ pounds I ate anything and everything with no attention paid to how much or what I ate. When I began to…

Hi chezz. I started right here in this forum at 419 pounds. With support and determination I have got down to 156 pounds. You can accomplish your goals too. Friend request sent. Frank

I found it a challenge to lose weight, but it wasn't the hardest thing I've ever accomplished. I found the withdrawal symptoms when I quit smoking to be mentally and physically more difficult. If you eat properly, you can still eat a lot and be in a calorie deficit--and lose weight. Eventually you will want to add exercise…

I am very familiar with the fear and anxiety you might be feeling at the beginning. I wrote a similar post to yours on my first day: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1039534/insurmountable-odds With the help of both an online and offline community of friends, I eventually succeeded beyond my original…

Holy moly, what a result! I have an idea how hard that must have been. My hat is off to you sir!

I go up and down 2 pounds (and more) in short periods of time all the time. Check out my recent weight graph here: https://trendweight.com/u/0019e1fe9fcc4b/ (Synced with my Fitbit Aria scale) I think it's the overall trend that's important, though -- not the daily fluctuations.
-
Personally, I'd never ask. I've always been thoroughly satisfied with my size.
-
You can do it if you focus on a series of short-term achievable goals. Friend request sent.

I started at 45, and lost 260+ pounds. It's possible.

My maintenance weight can fluctuate 7-8 lbs in 2 days. I suggest during your weight loss phase you weigh yourself only once a week. That will smooth out the daily fluctuation and give you a better view of your actual progress. Check out the Trendweight graph in my profile. During my loss I weighed only once a week. A few…

This.

Yeah, I've had people say "you look too skinny" to me. My BMI is right in the middle of normal. I guess they were just used to seeing me gigantically fat.
-
Took me about 100 pounds before people started audibly noticing. Pics in profile.

MFP says I have a 614 day streak, but I have only been maintaining since November or so. I have no tips for anyone else. My only advice would be: don't get as fat as I did before I started losing.

In my experience, weight loss happens through diet modification. Exercise builds strength and endurance. Unfortunately, you can't target where the weight will come off. It comes off everywhere.
