I love boxing and it doesn't require good feet :) I don't know if this is an option for you, but when I feel the slightest bit injured, I box. Good luck in the rest of your healing! Debbie

Awww-- Richard is annoying, but he's sort of a classic! I think he's sort of peppy in his real life, as well :) Debbie

Billy Banks drives me crazy mostly bc his wife comes on and I can't believe he's straight (sorry for the stereotypes) and I just think "Who else's wife/husband comes on??" I don't mind Jillian, for some reason... And I like a lesser known woman named CIndy Whitmarsh-- she seems sort of "real" to me and occasionally she…

I'm sorry you've been down. I've heard there is a carb detox phase. I also hear you've been sick. What if you focused on just maintaining for a week or so, more... IOW, walking and eating a few more calories, until you are well? Just a thought-- give yourself a break :) Best, Debbie

I guess I want to say "but, why?" and "is it sustainable?". You'll be away from home a lot. I'm a moderation kind of gal. Is there some reason for wanting to be so intense about it? Best, Debbie

I think that stretching them out, is best, in general. Every once in awhile if I'm going out to eat or doing something special, however, I eat less early in the day so I can enjoy myself more later. Best, Debbie

Changing how I look is COMPLETELY secondary. I'm trying to avoid some health problems. I have always liked the way I look :) Debbie

I cook up a tiny bit of ham, tons of spinach, and some jalapeno and then make an egg white scramble. I might put a tiny bit of low cal cheese on top. Then I have a piece of whole grained toast and I love it! For dessert I might have berries yum yum. Debbie

It's why dating is forbidden in AA, if you think about it. Debbie

I have high hopes that the social nature of this website is what will keep me going. I have also lost and gained a few times in my adult life. I'm a social creature, though, and knowing that there are people out there rooting for me (and to whom I'm accountable-- this is why I keep my diary open) seems important to me.…

When I read through the boards, it usually makes me motivated. Good luck! Debbie

Way to go!!! Debbie

I add jalapeno (I don't think that's officially a spice) to nearly everything these days! I have lived in Texas now for 3 years and it rubs off on you. :)

I haven't read any hard and fast rules (I doubt there are any). My general soft rule for myself is that if very little is added, it counts as a fluid (such as vitamin water, or crystal light). Obvious non-fluids include any diuretics or things that have tons of bad stuff in it :) I realize that's clear as mud but that's…

I started tracking sodium, recently, and was shocked. I'm going to make my own spaghetti sauce today, because of it :) I always make turkey spaghetti (I cook for both my son and I so I try to make things we both will eat) but the sodium in the jarred sauce is horrible! We eat a lot of turkey meat and it turns out they…

This is a hard one. My grocery bills have gone UP since I started eating healthy. I think there are cheap veggies and fruit out there, but I tend toward berries, which are expensive. Oatmeal in bulk, is cheap and has lots of fiber. I buy the store brand meats--- but oddly, turkey is more expensive than beef! P*sses me off…

I think it's threatening to see your partner change. There are worries: "maybe when they get thin, they will leave me", etc... That's not always the case, but I think it's worth talking about and getting it out in the open. Best, Debbie PS: My gf is great and she's on here, too.

Welcome and congrats for making health a priority! Best, Debbie

I think it's a problem-- your body needs a certain amount of fuel just like it needs sleep and needs to go to the bathroom, and needs to move. I'm not sure why you're not hungry. Are you super distracted with other things (when my son plays video games he forgets he's hungry :) ) but sometimes I make myself eat just bc I…

I eat a little non fat yogurt each day so I'm not exercising on an empty stomach. I know this isn't probably what you are looking for, but why not get up 1/2 an hour earlier? :) Best, Debbie

Drinking water helps fill you up. I think just keeping busy distracts me, as well. Finally, like with everything, you can remind yourself "this feeling will pass" :) Good luck, Debbie

Very cool!!

It's high in sodium, but turkey dogs/bratwurst is a staple around here. I also make turkey spaghetti for the kids but only eat about 1/4 cup of noodles. That''s an easy camp meal. Have fun! I agree that writing it down will help ( a lot of studies suggest that just writing it down and being more conscious of what you eat…

Mmmmmm.. you're making me HUNGRY!!! ;)

In the hospital, we always weigh people in the mornings-- preferably "dry" weights, which means you've voided, etc.. Best, Debbie

I read your vent and appreciate it... AND (I have never sent anyone a private email, btw, and wouldn't do that), there are so many people on MFP with eating disorders of all kinds of varieties, that I think it's hard not to react. I had a friend who was fasting and I simply unfriended her bc it was too upsetting. I think…

Incredible :))

You can't buy egg whites, where you live? :) That's my only answer-- we can buy they in a carton here and I enjoy egg white scrambles every weekend morning. Yum, yum!

Welcome! I'm no expert but I will tell you I have the same issue about exercising on an empty stomach. I just buy a large tub of non fat vanilla yogurt and eat about 5-6 oz every morning when I get up to address that issue. Hope that's helpful. Best, Debbie
