The Japanese place should have grilled shrimp or chicken on a skewer and steamed vegetables and white rice.

I frgot to mention air popped popcorn. I have a microwave popper. 1/4 cup fo kernels is 110 calories and that makes a big bowl of crunchy popcorn. I spritz it with olive oil and sprinkle on salt.

How do you log shopping in a mall where stops and starts are constant, but still you cover a lot of ground?

"The proof of the pudding is in the eating", said someone (don't know who). If it works for you, then use it to your advantage. Kids... remember, they don't know everything.

You are a real inspiration to me and to many others. Reading the success stories of others gives me such encouragement. Thank you for your post.

Good for you for caring about being honest with yourself. I guess you have to estimate how much. Before you (or I) would have eaten the whole portion. You already win a prize for being vigilant. Was it 1/4 cup, or half that? Go from there. Good luck.

Somewhere in the database is boneless, skinless chicken. When you click on that particular one it is something like 540 calories for 3 or 4 ounces. And it is saved in my recently used dinner items. Everytime I click on the wrong one I am in for a big shock. I need to get rid of it. Not sure how it got there.

I think what I have always craved is crunch. Crackers are a big temptation for me. I have solved that with eating carrots and celery. I eat a couple of whole carrots or a bunch of baby carrots with my lunch and if I am tempted to munch when I am cooking. They have calories too, but a lot less then a stack of crackers. Hope…

Well said.

For a guy 1200 calories does not seem like enough. You should probably have a base more like 1800. Don't know your stats, but that's my take. You need to EAT.

Boy! Do I agree. I hate that stuff. My own vinegrette is flavorful and healthy and I only use 2 tablespoons to dress a salad for two. When I am out to eat I opt for vinegrette on the side.

I use an olive oil spritzer. Spray lightly and season with Mrs. Dash for no sodium but lots of flavor. I cut them in halves or wedges depending on the size.

I usually have a non-fat yogurt or hard-boiled egg and a piece of fruit and a cup of chai with almond milk. Somtimes I'll have oatmeal with shoyu and a teaspoon of light butter, but not often. Less often I will have a piece of toast or wasa bread with peanut butter and fruit. Good luck!

I am wishing you more than luck. I am wishing you success.

Swimming and water aerobics plus portion control is how I have lost 65 lbs. Even walking in the water will help. The resistance of the water makes the work harder. If you have knee issues this is an excellent way to start.

I use an olive oil spritzer to keep the fat content low and then sprinkle with Tony's seasoning, then do as above. Yum!

Lite Silk Unsweetened Almond Milk is delicious.

Oranges and hard boiled eggs. And together they are a whopper of a breakfast or snack for what you get. A little protein, a little fat and carbohydrate. They can carry me a long way between meals.
-
That is fantastic!

Nobody said a word to me until I had lost 40 pounds! Now everybody thinks I some kind of expert. sheesh!

I have found that an olive oil spritzer and a good non-stick pan can cook a lot of things without any extra fat. If I need extra I add it a tiny bit at a time. I have always pan grilled steaks and chops on a salted pan with no fat. Try it. The meats are delicious and beautifully browned. I use hummus instead of mayo on…
