When this sort of thing happened to me, I gave myself a big kick up the backside and got straight on my exercise bike. I logged ALL my foods so that I could see what I was doing wrong, and then started making small changes til I got the eating under control. You can definitely get things under control - you've done it…

One day at a time. Thats how I do it :) Keep your goal in the back of your mind, but don't let it overwhelm you :) Make small goals. And I mean SMALL!!! :) That way when you reach them you'll feel a nice sense of achievement :) Planning helps too - that way the task isnt huge, just little ones :) And be kind to yourself!!…

I make my own bruschetta mix with tomatoes, vinegar/soy sauce, dried basil flakes and some pepper, and put it on corn cruskits with a tiny spread of low fat cream cheese on them. Only about 100 calories for 2. :)

welcome back! i hope your holiday was fantastic! :) Mental health is just as important as physical health and I'm sure your holiday helped your mental health and wellbeing having a break - so its definitely not a loss! :)

thats a really good idea with the wine! i might use that! :) Hang in there mate - we all have bad days - I've certainly had my share!! Just remember tomorrow is a new day and you can do it - dont beat yourself up :)
-
I dont see it as a negative, I just go 'okay so I'm going to eat this, that means that I need to do (insert your exercise choice here) to work it off. I see it more as a payoff rather than beating myself up over something I wanted to do. :) You'll be okay!! Just keep at it, it will become a bit easier as you go along. Just…

thanks for the giggle :P

lol thats been annoying me heaps too. Its silly.

hey don't beat yourself up too hard over one day! :) When we are sick, our bodies crave different things. All I would do is remember that its just one day, and to get back on the bandwagon the next day, or when you're well. I have some bad days too and crave carbs big time when I'm sick - perhaps that week's weight loss…

lol that really made me giggle ;)

I have 2 sets of scales at home and they read totally different things. I hate that, so I am throwing out one set and sticking with the set I originally had. Maybe the actual weight isnt quite right, but its reading the right weight LOSS, so I'm going with that. One weigh in missed won't matter, so I would just weigh in…

Yep I agree with the above post - I think its okay to have 'cheat' meals, but just make sure you work the calories off. If I overeat in my calories, I make sure I spend extra time on the exercise bike and work those extra calories off. Its all about the ins and outs of things I think. Don't think to yourself 'I'm cheating'…

Hi Rebecca and welcome! :) I've been using this site since the beginning of Feb, but am only now venturing into the forums and writing to people. :) I've lost 11lbs so far and have about 65lbs to go til I'm at my goal weight. Its going to take a while but with pure stubbornness and determination, and some wonderful…

I've also heard the 'below the chest you need to rest' thing as well, and I think its a pretty good thing to go with - if you cant breathe properly, you cant workout properly - so I'd rest and get better then try it. When I'm not feeling well, I do tend to go for slow walks so I'm still staying active but not killing…

you know this lifestyle is working when; - You sit down at night and feel completely lost until you realise you haven't done the days half hour on the exercise bike, do it, then feel completely comfortable again :P ; - You look at KFC chips (my absolutel favourite thing in the world until a while ago) and realise that…

Yep I totally agree - I understand that the WW programs work for some people who need the absolute discipline and focus that points counting provides, but it confuses the complete crap outta me and makes me too frustrated lol :P I much prefer a calorie goal - I know that I have a goal to stick to, and if I go over, I need…
-
LOL my work does that too!! So frustrating! lol ;) You did really well, only having a little bit! :) I find that if that happens, I just accept it but realise that I have to work it off later - and I do, so I dont feel the guilts lol ;)
-
Thanks very much ladies! :) I know what you mean - 10lbs makes a heap of difference! Well done to you guys too!!! :) Heres to celebrating the next ten!! :D
-
Its taken me about 8 weeks to lose the 11lbs tho - which is only about 1.2lbs a week. I would love to lose about 3lbs a week too, but I'd rather do it a bit more slowly to give my body a chance to adjust and to make sure I can stick to it and I dont put it all back on when I get to my goal :)
-
Thanks very much guys! :)

hi Sonia! :) Feel free to add me as a friend and we can help to motivate each other! :) I have about 75lbs to lose (about 30kgs) and it does seem like a lot when you look at it like that. But break it down into smaller goals and you'll find you'll achieve them in no time :) I love this site, Ive found some really good…

Thanks mate! :) I'm hoping so! :D

Hi Amy! I'm 29, and looking to lose about 70lbs as well. Its a lot when you look at it like that, but its achievable when broken up into little mini goals :D Feel free to add me as a friend on here, and we can help to motivate each other :)

When I first got my exercise bike, I couldn't do two minutes and if I did any more, I felt like I was going to die lol. :) Now I am doing 20-30 minutes with sprints as well, and it doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as it did. I honestly think its more of a time and getting fit thing, and you just have to get used to it.…

*big hugs* Good on you for admitting that you need help - having had depression issues of my own, asking for help is by far the hardest step. So good on you! :) I agree with the other posters, logging stuff - even if you are way over your goal in calories etc - at least puts some perspective on things. I am a teacher too,…

Hi from Australia! :) Welcome to the site! I've found some very supportive friends here, no matter what your goals are. And like the last poster said, theres some brilliant info here as well, no matter what you're trying to do :) Good luck with your journey! :) Emma xx

woohoo!! well done! :D

Hi! Thanks for the welcome!! Its taking a bit longer than I want, but then again I'm a fairly impatient person - but being stubborn and impatient means I spend more time exercising than I thought I would - at the moment I'm burning about 700 calories a day which is really good. I'm loving my exercise bike - a present from…

Hi Kai! :) I'm a teacher who has completed two bachelor degrees at uni and I know the hours can be really stupid and it makes it hard to eat regularly - you find yourself just grabbing what you can when you can (which is almost never cause theres never any time lol) and so generally make fairly bad choices and eat too…
