  • I agree, I was lucky that my closest friends have been really supportive. I had a few people on the outskirts of the friends that were not supportive. Most of them just said nothing, I did get one..."most people gain it all back plus some" in a very snide tone.
  • I'm right there with you on that one. Lost 100+ pounds and I and still 34-G
  • He said it at a weigh in and his trainer did not disagree
  • The climbers always do well, I think they upper body and added grip strength. I remember one gym I went to had some grip strength training going on.
  • Different body shapes/genetics? Funny that you got it without purposely working for it and some people want it so badly.
  • me too! I go to the gym straight from work and I don't take my make-up off, but my the end of my workout, most of it is on my towel. I sweat more than a lot of people, but I don't know many people who can keep the make up that perfect while working out. She did well though, so props to her. She had a pretty good attitude…
  • I was intrigued by that one until he said that. If he is doing that on a regular basis, that's not sustainable. I get that they were getting regular assessments, but wonder if it caused any health problems. Some parts of the show were interesting, but not enough detail to really tell what happened. Taj, the one that quit,…
  • they still fit :)
  • I had to get over the mental hurdle of being able to skip and not feel guilty. I now try and plan one rest day, if I have time, I do an active rest with something not intense or heavy. Walking or a lazy swim. When my body is sore, I will take a break guilt free now. When I worked out too much, it has led to some minor…
  • I have this issue also. Someone told my boss that they didn't think I was happy with my job and that they thought I was looking for something new. I have not started to look for something new, but it's true that I am not happy with my job. She asked why...I straight up told her that it was all because of the changes in me…
  • Hot Sauce is my main one, then parmesan cheese, although it doesn't stick well with air popped so well.
  • All the posts about the joys of shopping make me a little sad. I still don't like it, I can shop in any store I want, I don't have to go to the plus size section or special store or anything anymore, I just don't enjoy it. I thought I would, I guess I am just not a shopper.
  • This for sure. I had to find the right friends/family to tell, because I so wanted to tell someone and most people look at you and you can tell they are thinking "so what, why are you so excited about that" I have the issue with fitness goals and weight loss goals. Ran a mile, no stopping for the first time in years and…
  • To add to the fact that she will get on the treadmill and walk or run, can you find some fun 5Ks to do on the weekend?
  • That is my size currently....how was the reduction surgery. (Sorry to change the subject)

  • I love cookbooks. I get lots of recipes of the internet, but I still just love to have the actual book. I just got Ellie Krieger's You Have It Made. I have made two things from it so far and both have been good. At the end of each recipe, she tells you how to make ahead and keep in the refrigerator for a couple days or how…
  • The original blog I read was by Drew Manning, he is a trainer that did this. I followed along while he did it. He took 6 months to gain the weight and 6 months to lose the weight. He was a trainer and wanted to better understand the emotional toll that food can have over someone. His was way more in depth, I think he is…
  • They do have to be able to complete a half marathon to be eligible to win the show. Which made the fact that the taskersizing lady never worked on running crazy. How is she going to be able to finish a half marathon if your exercise is squatting while picking out fruit at the grocery store. The Fit to Fat to Fit show seems…
  • I agree with everyone here. I love to cook and eat good food. The loving to cook has probably been one of the things that has helped me lose weight. I can make myself healthy food that is delicious instead of pre-packaged "diet" food or only eating salads that do tend to bore me after a while. Being willing to try to make…
  • It's all on me, I have always admitted it. My problems are social eating and boredom eating.
  • I wish I would have taken some before shots also. I went back and found some pictures from before that I have to compare, but nothing that I did for the specific purpose. I did my best to hide from the camera before!
  • And thanks to this thread, I have now started binge watching the Great British Bake Off.
  • Thanks for the response on a proper pasty, we have them once a year...beef, potato and onion. My grandpa always wanted turnips added to it, but he never won that battle. The only argument we have now is ketchup or no ketchup...I believe I saw yes on that :) My great grandmas recipe is pretty funny for making the…
  • I agree, I need a better plan at maintenance. I know where my weigh gain started and I will have a plan when it hits this time. The first time I trained for a triathlon, I was doing crazy amounts of cardio in the mornings and lifting in the evenings. I didn't do two a days every day, but probably 3 times a week. It was…
  • The first time I had Yorkshire pudding I was a little shocked....that's not pudding, but it was delicious
  • Can one of the Brits answer a family question for me. My grandma made pasties for us, basically pie dough, meat, potatos and onions. Is that the normal or is there something else in them? My great grandma was from Cornwall....so maybe they are different all over? Maybe it isn't a thing anymore?
  • That's what the Barenaked Ladies call it in the song "If I Had a Million Dollars" :)
  • I keep making promises to myself, like not going up a size, but I did, not moving the big weight on the scale, but I did, etc. This year I will get back on track. I decided to train for another triathlon. This makes me do more cardio, which hopefully will help. I will still lift weights because I enjoy that more. Then…
  • I often feel like one of the few Americans that does not like biscuits and gravy. The late night dinner in college has the B&G Special, everyone got that...I got scrambled eggs.
  • I have a Fitbit One, it says I burn between 2400-2700 on my normal days. Seems about right. My friend has the One also, she was having problems attaching it where they suggested and it ends up she put it on a hairband on her wrist....I tried that because she was always getting a ton of calories burned. Wearing it on my…
