As I was getting dressed today I realized another change since my weight loss. I love wearing dresses. I absolutely hated wearing them before. I would wear a skirt occasionally, but never a dress. Now my closet has many dresses and I actually feel good in them!

I was never a big runner, but running was the one thing my doctor told me never to do after having hip surgery at 39. OP, hopefully you get good news, however, I always wanted to do a triathlon and I did one about 1.5 years after having hip replacement surgery. I worked really hard on the swimming and biking and ran/walked…

My trainer was worth all the money I spent. He helped me set attainable goals for weight loss when I first started. I had over 100 lbs to lose. He also helped me with my diet, which was awesome. As I got closer to my weight loss goal, we worked on ways to stay motivate and set different goals so that I wouldn't revert back…

I agree that dieting sucks and understand where you are coming from. I have lost a lot of weight and this is the first time it has lasted. I lost most of my weight 5 years ago, over 100 pounds and have kept most of it off but never hit my goal weight. That is what I am working on now. I know that I will have to watch what…

I joined the one I go to because it was clean, the owner was nice, the price was decent and I didn't feel awkward when I started. I was obese and no one seemed to notice me at all when I walked in, which was perfect. It is a smaller gym, but still has all the equipment needed...except a pool. Now I have two gym…

Luckily I like to use salsa for my salad dressing, it cuts out a lot of calories. Usually if I am going out to eat though, I pick something besides a salad also

Eggs, chicken and Greek Yogurt for protein. Other non-protein standards, spinach and apples

I'm on board with this. I think the weighted hip thrusts are helping me a lot, but they are fairly new to my workout.

I have a timer I use all the time, but not sure what it is called...just said time. It is the best Tabata TImer I have found so far because I do a lot of circuit training that I need longer than the standard :20/:10

Right now at 32.8%

I am happy to hit parallel, but I have hip issues and don't try to go further. I don't want to go back to surgery just to have a lower squat. So, if I look like a "chump" in the gym, so be it.

I agree on this, people go out and order a salad thinking it is low cal, and it may be compared to other items on the menu, but they still end up incredibly high. There are two restaurants I go to regularly around here, neither are chains...I basically build my own salad. I am sure they love me  I change the fried…

My birthday was last Monday, I worked out. I feel better when I work out. Do what you want to do.

I only had a few negative people in my life during the weight loss. I was lucky that most of my friends, family and coworkers were very supportive. I did have a couple people ask me how I lost weight and then when I said I was eating less and moving more they would tell me it would work or that I couldn't keep it up and…

Snacking is my problem...mostly when I am bored. My three main meals are generally healthy. Then I have a snack and I eat too much. I have tried the route of a piece of fruit or something along those lines, but then I find some sort of sweet or chips or crackers and eat too much of that. I happily to go to the gym or do…

I am very similar. I probably spend $40 -$50 every Sunday when I do the main shopping, but always end up going back for other items. I usually eat lunch out once a week and dinner out once a week.

A weekend can undo a week's deficit, but that isn't anything to worry about in the long run, I don't consider one week to be a long run. If this happened every weekend, it would be a problem.

Stress from the work day fades away I am less hungry (accept for swimming, that makes me extra hungry) I sleep better I have made a lot of friends through exercise in the last several years

I m a boredom eater too, I try and keep busy, but sometimes it is the boredom at work...when I have plenty to do, but its the stuff I don't want to do, so I find something else to do, which is eat. This problem is in the mornings, between breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, after lunch, I am fine. Most likely because I…

I use different varieties of Bolthouse Farms. The cream based ones are made with Greek yogurt. Most are 45 calories per serving. I like the Zesty Ranch and the Parmesan Caesar. Their vinaigrettes are also good. They are found in the refrigerator section, with the lettuces at the stores around me.

A lot of people didn't say anything to me while I was losing weight, especially the men I work with. One guy said he was afraid to say anything because girls are very sensitive about it...which make sense.

Happy Birthday! It's also my birthday.

This is just funny.

This has happened more than once for me. :)

This was the biggest help to me this go-around and this go-around has been much more successful than anything in the past. Also, finding an exercise that you enjoy and sticking with it and not trying to force yourself to do something you hate doing.

Glad you enjoyed the burger and started this thread!

The first 100#s I lost were easier than the last 20 I am working on, but it wasn't easy either way. Being motivated to eat less is harder now that the scale doesn't move as much for me.

I didn't like exercise when I started losing weight, now it's habit and I do enjoy the feeling after a really good workout. I feel a little lost on days when I don't exercise and if I skip more than two days in a row, I feel sluggish.

I got rid of mine after losing the first 60# or so, nothing was close to fitting anymore, but I only got rid of the really big stuff. Then I got rid of the rest of the old clothes when I lost 120#. I am afraid that if I kept the clothes it would be too easy to go back up in size since I had clothes that would fit. I have a…

Thanks, I have kept most of 130#s off for the last 4 years, just never hit my goals...working on that now.
