Totally agree with this, I have great friends and family. They loved me at 300 pounds, they love me now. I had a decent job and was well liked at work. I had no health issues. This is why I can't really pinpoint the moment it clicked.

People ask me this all the time and I don't really know the answer. One day I just went and joined a gym, after my free session with a personal trainer, I hired him and we changed my diet. In the back of my mind it could be that I was 38 and wanted to look and feel better at 40 (which I did). Not sure though, 1.5 years…

I have a good recipe too, and it's easy....uses a box cake mix. It is delicious.

I go to an Anytime Fitness also. It seems like our gym has changed recently to more oly lifting in the last year or so. I will change my workout if people are in the power rack and we did recently get another oly bar, which will help. There have always been people doing dumbbell squats and deadlifts though. We don't have a…

I workout at Anytime Fitness in Ballwin

I live in STL and I deadlift and other people in my gym deadlift. Maybe just depends on the gym? and toasted ravioli is awesome!

I was getting close to hitting the 100 pounds lost mark, was looking forward to it so much. Had a reward all ready for myself. Then I had to have emergency surgery...ended up hitting that mark while in the hospital. Not really somewhere I wanted to be to celebrate that mark, but oh well. I moved on and set a new goal. My…

LOL, I have been there, before I lost 100 pounds and even recently after 100 pounds.

This works for me too, and the fresh egg thing. The fresher the eggs, the worse they are to peel.

I have kept off over 100 pounds for 4 years now. I do fluctuate, but nothing too crazy. I work out almost every day, but that is because I like too and feel "blah" when I don't. I do not obsess about what I eat, but I do eat pretty healthy most of the time, just from routine from losing the weight. I indulge more than I…

Just remember, Facebook is the highlight reel of their life. Just because they went on vacation doesn't mean there life is any better than yours. Did they go into major debt to go to the beach? I love seeing other peoples vacations, I put pictures from my fun weekends out there when I have something good to show.

Crap, how do you check on both sides of the cream? You can only check one side:sad:

Texture is a weird thing, that's why I won't eat coconut, raw mushrooms (will eat cooked) and most fish.

I don't really drink milk much anymore, just don't enjoy it. Unless I am having chili, then I have to have milk. My dad and brother are the same way, so I guess that is where I learned it. If eating M&Ms, I separate by color and eat the one with the least amount first. Can not just put a handful in my mouth...at least it…

This, maybe when you see them, those are the big drinking nights out for them. I rarely drink during the week, didn't drink this past weekend, but I have a few functions coming up that I will have more than the recommended # of drinks.

I came up with a goal for myself which was just into the normal category. At a doctors appointment after I started losing weight, my doctor came up with a goal weight for me. Not really sure how she came up with the #, but she did. It was actually 7 lbs higher than what I came up with, and kept me in the overweight…

I personally don't think 8 a week is much, there are some weeks where I don't hit that many and some weekends where I hit that many. We discussed this at lunch today, four women one in 20s, one 30s, one 40s and one 50s. We all thought it seemed low.

I did go swim, got 2100 yards in. I feel better for doing it!
-
Wow, very inspiring. Congrats on all you have accomplished!
-
I was gonna say I'll go if you go, since I don't feel like going. Since it looks like you already went, I guess I will go now....off to the pool to swim some laps.

As I've gotten older (43) I don't worry so much about what everyone else thinks and I just do what makes me happy and spend time with those that I am happy with. A lot of it is getting rid of what didn't make me happy.
-
Agree with this. Happy to know I am not the only one...also the back!

Lots of good ideas here, try mixing up the workouts with a different activity is what I do a lot. I rarely do the same exercises or activity in a week, even in the gym my workouts are all different. I would also up the calories a little and see if that helps.

Agree on all of this, drives me crazy that my mom says Missourah....she was born and raised here, my brother and I did not pick that up from her thankfully.

Love my beer. When I hired a personal trainer 5 years ago, we were having our first discussion about my diet. I looked at him and said "I am not giving up my beer" he said I didn't have to, but he would let me know if it became a problem. I lost 130 pounds and never gave it up and probably never will. We have had a great…

I agree with the good shoes, I got fitted and it was the best thing. I paid more for my shoes, but was worth it. I hired a personal trainer, I know it isn't in the budget for everyone, but it got me to where I needed to be without injuring me or me ending up discouraged. Wear whatever is comfortable, I would cover up so…

I pretty much do it all on my own, I have found that I am more dedicated than most and show up no matter what. That said, I do have one group class a week that I completely enjoy. It is the same people every week and we joke and have fun while working out. I miss the class when we don't have it, but during the rest of the…

I had a few good friends that knew I was trying to lose weight, so they would talk to me and encourage me the entire time. It took at least 40 pounds before someone at work that didn't know I was actively trying to lose weight to say something. He did say he noticed earlier, but didn't want to say anything because people…
