I have been in the same place for a while as far as the nutrition part of losing weight. I got within 4 pounds of the goal weight that my doctor gave me, I was training for a triathlon and could eat more food. Once training stopped, I didn't stop eating. I still love the workout part, but I am just "blah" about getting the…

That sounds awful to do them straight through, I have done a workout that included 100 burpees, 100 situps and some running that I timed myself. I think I need to try that one again and see if i can better my time. I also did Crossfit for a month....happened to hit the 7 minutes of Burpees WOD....only got 72

I would do mostly freestyle also, but how do you sight yourself when you swim freestyle? I end up doing breaststroke to do that, but it seems slower. Although sometimes I do breastroke when I am tired too.

Would love to hear any responses from this. I do a triathlon that has a short open water swim (1/4 mile), have thought of doing a longer open water swim, but I am terrified. Swimming in a pool is one thing, open water totally different. I don't really have access to open water to train for any distance.

I am have the same problem. They used to talk to me about how I needed to lose weight, then I was losing too fast, then too much and on and on and on. I do my best to not discuss with them. I am 43 and I can make the right choice for me. I do love exercise now, I don't skip workouts for much....they don't like this either.…

Not sure I can really answer the question, but I have recently added swimming into my routine. I go once a week (would probably do more, but I have to go to a different gym and pay everytime) For me it is a tough workout while also being easy on the joints after doing some heavy lifting.

I kept mine until I couldn't wear them anymore without looking ridiculous. I then donated to Goodwill. Like others, I didn't want to have anything to go back to. I went from a size 24 to a 10, so I did this several times. I could usually skip a size along the way. I do have one pair of pants left from before ....as a…

I probably have more workout clothes than needed and more than work clothes :) Mine is mostly inexpensive and purchased at Target, Kohls and JC Penneys. I live in my workout clothes except when I am at work.

Not the cologne part, but my gym is polite also. I may have to wait for a machine, especially the squat rack, but most people notice if you are waiting and offer to let you work in or let you know how much they have left. I don't even have to re-rack weights very often. It's almost always neat and tidy at the gym I go to.

I have a sprint Triathlon in August, other than that, fun races that I don't truly train for Tap N Run this weekend Warrior Dash - August Foam Fest - August The Triathlon is enough for me to actually train for, I just did one at the end of March, so trying to build on that to get faster. I mostly compete against myself,…

Love Ice Cream Pinterest board dedicated to ice cream Make my own ice cream - love it. My family was skeptical when I asked for the ice cream maker attachment to my Kitchen Aid Mixer. Now they are happy that I have it. Any birthday or holiday, they get homemade ice cream now. Best Homemade Ice Cream - Double Chocolate…

I wish I could just bake for everyone. I love to bake, but tend to eat more than a serving or 5. I take them to work, but that doesn't help since I am there too. I do eat some sort of sweet everyday though....Endangered Species are my favorite candy bars. I think I will have some now. Dark Chocolate with Cocoa Nibs

Still not much of a runner, never wanted to be....until my doctor told me I should NEVER run again after I had hip surgery.

5 years ago I would have said "no, I wouldn't exercise if I didn't have to" Now it has become habit, I miss it when I don't go. Several reasons....stress relief, I feel better when I leave the gym, I sleep better when I exercise consistantely, I have more energy all the time, I love the feeling of hitting a personal best…

[/quote] wow you sound like quite an accomplished swimmer actually. I used to swim competetively in highschool and was a lifeguard for like 10 years. i've never swam 22 miles (22miles !!! did that take like all day? 24hrs ish? lol), nor would i think of attempting it lol. typical rules are that you have to swim to the…

The Blues have been killing me with the overtime games, so stressfull! They need a win tonight!

I had this also, I was very thankfully that they warned me of this or I would have freaked out and thought I had some other problem.

I had my gallbadder removed 4 years ago and have not had any problems with what I can eat. I ate bland food for a couple weeks, but that was mostly just loss of appetite. I was back do light cardio after about 10 days and back to normal routine in the gym in about 4. I was actively losing weight at the time and didn't gain…

I can't stand being on the elliptical or treadmill for very long. I do all sorts of different things for cardio. Circuts of things that include 1 minute of things like jumping rope, burpees, mountain climbers, etc. Sometimes I will throw 5 minutes of the elliptical or treadmill and do that 5 times or something along those…

Random at first. Then once I started losing weight and had an annual doctor's appointment, we discussed. She came up with a wieght for me....which was higher than my original number.

Set fitness goals, not just weight loss goals to keep yourself motivated. I got close to my goal weight and my personal trainer and I came up with new goals to accomplish. My first goal was to complete a triathlon, that meant doing more cardio for me. This was good because I would prefer to lift, so now I did both more…

When I started losing weight, I gave up soda, pretty much stuck to water. I stopped drinking alcohol during the week for the most part (there were some events and just some days I had to do it). I stopped going out to lunch every day and just go out on Friday now. Those were some of the easier things for me to do in the…

I joined my gym four and a half years ago and yes, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I found the right gym for me, which was smaller and less intimidating to me at the time. When I joined, I also started with a personal trainer, not sure which was a better move. He keeps me motivated and holds me…

Break the 70 pounds down into smaller goals. 10 or 15 pounds at a time. A smaller number seems more attainable at the beginning and once you hit that, you want to keep going to the next goal Don't cut out any of the foods that you love, just eat less of them less often. The minute I say I can't have something, I wanted it…

My dog loves strawberries and apples. He will eat most things, those are his favorites. Popcorn is his close third.

I have days like this that are unexplainable, sometimes I think it is when I am craving something that I don't give into. I am definitely more hungry on rest days. The only exercise that makes me want to eat like crazy is swimming. If I swim in the morning before work, I could eat and eat and eat all day. It's awful.

The equivalent of my best friend....I told her if I start gaining the weight back, I need to give her a piggy back ride to remember what it was like so I get my butt back in gear.
-
This is what I do, but I have been lifting for a while now and I don't seem to notice as much.

I am the same way, I am still a people pleaser. Sometimes it is a good thing....I hate feeling like a dissappointed my personal trainer even though he moved away and I don't see him very often, I do talk to him a lot and I hate feeling like I let him down.
