I agree with the advice to look at old pictures and take some new ones, it helps. I sometimes see the same fat girl in the mirror and I've lost over 100 lbs. Weight loss is definitely a mental fight.

That's funny, I recently told one of my friends that when I go shopping I end up buying workout clothes when I am looking for work clothes. I need to find a job where I can wear workout clothes everyday.

I changed accessories a lot. Bracelets and rings from 100#s ago were all too big, luckily most of my stuff was inexpensive. I think I started accessorizing more once I lost the weight, not as afraid to bring attention to myself. I have always been well endowed and did not lose any of that with the weight loss (one cup…

I changed to more form fitting clothes, but the over all style has not changed all that much. Maybe a little trendier here and there and I actually own a swim suit now :) When I finally lost enough weight to shop in the regular stores, not plus sized, it was intimidating. I had way to many options and got overwhelmed. I…

Definitley my face first, then waist. I wish I could say my boobs, but the cup size has barely changed while the band size is dramatically different.

Weigh yourself again later this week, It would be tough to truly gain 4 pounds in a weekend. If I haveTOO much fun on the weekend, I try to wait until Wednesday to weigh myself it is usually just water retention from too much sodium.

When I eat lunch, at least once a week from the same person "Are you still on a diet? Uh, I have been eating this way for over 4 years. Apparently healthy food still baffles him.

$20 a month at Anytime Fitness, love my gym and worth every penny.

I check out Groupons a lot and have tried a lot of different classes with them. I add that to my gym and I never get bored.

This is what I do also. The other thing I don't hate is jumping rope. Can't do it very long, but you don't really have to. I do a lot of it tabata style.

Everyone is different, I had two pulled and two cut out, but had minimal swelling and no real problems. I had them taken out on a Friday and went to a trivia night on Saturday night. I did eat very smooth things. The day of I had milkshakes and the day after I had mashed potatos and soup and stuff like that. Happy to say,…

I had a similar Saturday, but only lost one pound. When I first started losing weight I went to one night a week. Once I lost most of the weight I try to keep it at just the weekends. I still laugh at the first conversation that my trainer and I had about diet. I flat out said I wouldn't give up drinking, he was good with…

Spinning..have tried multiple classes and multiple teachers. I will not put myself trough it again. Burpees suck, but I do them all the time.

I had no desire to run until I had hip surgery and the doctor told me never to run. I know, no help....I wouldn't reccomend surgery. Like JenMc, doing races helps me get motivated to do things. I like to swim, but didn't make much effort to go to the pool until I signed up for a triathlon and knew I had to swim. I enjoy…

This for me. My trainer gives me a different workout for each day, my time in the gym depends on that. Usually not in the gym for more than an hour.

1. Don't give up the foods you love 2. Don't beat yourself up over a bad day 3. Log all your food 4. If you have a lot to lose, have small goals....every 10 pounds or so 5. Take lots of pictures, wish I would have done that in the beginning and more often along the way.

I workout at gym, go to the pool to go swimming, walk outside, ride my bike outside. I love my gym, it's fairly small, I don't wait for machines very often and most of the members are super nice about letting you work in with them. I am one of those people who has become social with some of the members. I do find that if I…

I get this a lot at work. I eat a healthy lunch and healthy snacks while I'm at work and people still ask if I'm on a diet. I've been doing this for 4 years, you would think they would get it by now. When I say " if I go back to eating the way I ate before, I'll just go back to how I was before". They look at me like I'm…

It has been a very emotional journey for me, more than I thought it would be. I was overweight most of my life, still need to lose a little, but I'm not the "fat friend" anymore, I get more attention which I have gotten more comfortable with. I still see the fat girl in the mirror sometimes and don't know that she will…

Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi Interesting, like the song, not sure I want it as my theme song for my life though.

I'm the same way, I wish I had an adverse reaction to the crappy food. It would help me steer clear. Luckily I don't eat out much either.
-
Totally agree with this, the trainer where I went watched us closely. We were learning with almost no weight and once he was satisfied with our form he would let us add weight, and then he still watched closely.

I did a free month made it to 6 classes, I enjoyed parts of it. It was too expensive for me. Now my personal trainer got certified and goes to classes and incorporates the parts I like into my workouts. If it was more conveniet and cheaper than going to my trainer and my gym, I would think about it, but I liek variety and…
This often means you do not get enough protein in your diet. Try upping your protein and see if that works.
Thanks for that info, I never had a sweet tooth until I lost a lot of weight, i was a salty food girl, now its all about sweet.

Congratulations, it's also on my bucket list, but haven't found any friends willing to go with me yet. I will tackle it on my own eventually. Terrified, but still want to do it.

Every Monday at 5PM

This is so me, I am so uncoordinated when it comes to yoga that I make myself laugh. I am either annoying the others in class or making them laugh, not sure which :)

I agree with the other posts, just go, do your best and don't worry about what anyone thinks. Every class I go to has people from all fitness levels in them. If it's a spinning class, no one can even tell if you are working harder or easier than them. In Zumba, just go have fun. I was awful at that class the first time I…

It's tough, but so good. I have been with my trainer for almost 4 years....ever Monday 5pm, session with my trainer. Best money I could have ever spent. Just let the trainer know what you want out of the relationship and then commit to doing what they ask of you. The results will be amazing I'm havign anxiety for a…
