I started the program in the middle of February. I like it because I don't always have a lot of time and I can generally get this done in 20 to 30 minutes on my lunch hour depending on how long I rest. I have the exact same schedule as you MWF lift, T TH cardio and then I walk my dog daily, but don't really count that as…

I, sadly enough, watched that whole thing once a long time ago and was pissed when it actually got to the foods you shouldn't eat, but I can't remember them all, I was pissed because it wasted a lot of my time and when they actually got to the food, I called bullsh*t, banana's, corn, orange juice and can't remember the…

Make sure the changes you are making are changes that are sustainable forever and don't demonize food.

I weigh 3 or 4 times a week. It helps me stay focused when I see the numbers. Sometimes I go weeks without a "real" change and then boom down a couple, and I hover there for a while and then down a couple. I think if I didn't weigh, it would be easier to "fool" myself. I like to fool myself so weighing helps. However,…

So you have to walk some of it, big deal. Do it anyway. Jog what you can, take a break and walk, catch your breath and go again. I've walked some 5k's, I've jogged some 5k's and I've done a mix of walking and jogging. You will feel so great about yourself when you're done and you should. I say go for it!

That was hilarious. I'll do the waterfast with you and you've got my support

I definitely have it. This may sound silly, but while I'm at my desk working, I will kind of dance a little in my chair, especially when I have good music on and I try to also sit up straight and suck in my gut here and there. Every single time I go to the bathroom (I have a single person bathroom so this is easy to do…

You gals are so inspiring, so strong and look so awesome! I wish I LOVED to lift heavy. I do it anyway because I know I need to, but I just don't love it and I wish I did because it would definitely make it more fun! I think if I had a buddy, I would like it more, but if feels more like a chore right now. I could, however,…

Cortisone shot. I had PF in both feet and got cortisone shots back in 1999 and haven't had a problem with PF since. Of course, I wear my doctor recommended (not dr scholl from grocery store) inserts religiously as well, but why live with pain when there is a fairly simple (although painful for a minute) solution? ETA: I…

It's really about eating less than you burn or use. When and how you eat is negligible except to help keep you on track. Eat below your maintenance calories and you will lose weight regardless of how and when you time your meals.

I'm 5'8" - starting weight 205, am down to 178, would like to get to 160-165, and it has taken me 10 months of very diligent and consistent tracking. I have found my "magic" number of cals to be about 1600 to 1800 for my activity level, but I also calorie cycle (actually not sure I'm using term correctly) but 2 to 3 days…

I think apples do that to me. I'm trying to test my theory for the next couple weeks because it doesn't logically make sense to me, but I swear every time I eat an apple, I'm starving within a half hour.

Those are the exact reasons I kept it to myself. Everyone wants to tell you what you should/should not eat and then comment on anything that passes your lips. It's really nobody's business IMO. Sorry you are going through that, it doesn't help and is highly annoying.

My daughter is the only one, but that's cause she lives with me and knows my habits and can see the progress. I don't tell anyone mostly because I just don't think it's anybody's business nor do I think most people care about my eating/exercising and weight habits. I have had a few people make comments on either my weight…

My 2 fav's are: 1 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1/2 frozen banana 1/3 cup frozen pineapple 1/2 scoop strawberry protein powder 1 tsp chai seeds handful spinach or 1 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk 2 tbsp. PB2 1/2 scoop choc protein powder 1/2 frozen banana Both are like yummy shakes and both are under 250 cals. I…

Hmmmmm, I totally don't count my vitamins, but I didn't even look to see if they had calories (duh), I guess I better look. Maybe my deficit isn't as much as I thought.

You know what does work for oral hygiene (I mean besides brushing, flossing and seeing your dentist regularly)? Hydrogen Peroxide. Swish that stuff around your mouth for a while and gargle and it'll clean your mouth like crazy, it'll even stop a sore throat if you catch it early enough.

Awesome progress!! Amazing, you look terrific.

Sorry you're going through that. People amaze me sometimes and not in a good way. They are only doing it because they are in a group. If it was just one, she probably wouldn't have the balls to be so blatantly rude. Reporting them will go no where and just make them bully you more. Sorry, but nobody knows what to do about…

Agreed. Orthotics will help for sure and if you can stand wearing a night splint that helped mine tremendously, but they are more expensive and quite cumbersome. So start with orthotics and make sure you get good orthotics, like from Powerstep (not Dr. Scholl at grocery store). Powerstep are actually doc recommended and a…

My friend was commenting on my weight loss and then proceeded to tell me that I HAVE to HAVE salads for lunch in order to lose weight or you won't lose anything. Mind you, I had already lost 20 and pretty much without a salad in sight, let alone a salad for lunch. I told her I don't eat salad because by the time I'm done…

I really only like McDonald's breakfast (well and their fries), I get the egg white delight, 250 cals and I think it's yummy. If I'm going to have a hamburger and fries, I'm going to go somewhere good and splurge, like Texas Roadhouse, or Tonyburgers.

You took the words right out of my mouth, but you did a better job. I was TRYing to come up with something better because I really really WANTed to, but I couldn't. You win.

Uhmmmmm pre1970 people barely knew what a calorie was? WTF? I found an interesting article about the calorie which was first discovered back in the mid 1800's. Here's just one paragraph I found to totally dispute her stupid claim people didn't know what calories were or that we cared about how many we were shoving in our…

I would get this exactly, minus the treadmill. I have a dog, if I'm going to walk, it's going to be outside with him.

I hear you on the panic feelings. My biggest fear was the weight room because at the Rec Center I go to, it is mostly men and I am intimidated by the weights because I don't really feel like I "know" what I'm doing, but I found a weight training program, read and read and read, watched video's and practiced form like…

You look terrific, great work.

Pretty much like every other Friday night for me. Gym, dinner, couch and tv with my doggies. I think tonight I'll either make it an Arrested Development marathon or the Olympics. Sounds sort of sad, but it's not, I love my Friday nights.

I was having this same problem basically. When I get home, I just want to eat for some reason and would end up going over my cal count by a couple hundred, no matter what I did to try and stop myself from doing that. So instead of trying to force myself to change a habit I obviously didn't want to change and restrict…

Patience. I know you've been working hard and doing everything right and it's so frustrating when the weight falls off your hubby and won't budge on you, but it's pretty early too. I am 47 and eat between 1600 & 1800 depending on my workouts. I have only lost 20 lbs since starting in July or whenever it was that I joined.…
