It took therapy for me to realize it. Therapy and books....lots of self-help books, since I seem to do better with those. I am still a work in progress....but it was worth it.

Eating healthy is still expensive....it is sad in this country the cheaper foods are the boxed foods. I try my best to work with what I can though....I get protein mix with some almond milk and throw in a bunch of spring mix with fruit and there you go. I do Biggest Loser DVDs at home or I go to my dad's to use his…

It isn't....though I know it should be. I don't eat it anymore though.....
-
I use the books like The Sneaky Chef or Deceptively Delicious for my kids and myself...nothing wrong with adding healthy things to traditionally non-healthy treats.

I have an anxiety and depression since I was 10....I found out I have hormonal issues and much of my stuff is hormonally related I notice. My worst times were from ages 10-12 right when puberty hit...but I was not on medications until I was 19. Now finally I have recently been able to reduce the medicine I was taking for…

I eat under that because my BMR is around 1500 (a little over). I eat a lot of protein shakes with greens and fruit, egg whites with cheese, some meats....

It would make me happy if I could add my ingredients from my recipes without it being such a hassle. Make options for all kinds of measurements! I can't find two tablespoons of almond milk for instance....I find almond milk but no options for tablespoons. It is almost impossible to get an accurate calorie count when I…

Try this one? I don't know what your dietary preferences are so if something is here that you wouldn't eat feel free to disgrard http://paleopot.com/2013/02/one-pot-chorizo-and-kale-soup/

And while I may go to a professional for an opinion..that's all it is. A degree, schooling, and a coat do not necessarily make a knowledgeable professional in any area sadly. Many health professionals are the regurgitating type and it gets very frustrating at times.

This. I appreciate a dietician like your friend...many are not up front about their lack of knowledge in some areas.

When you aren't starving yourself you will lose more weight. 1200 may have been too low for your BMR perhaps.

Eyes, smile, and then I like talking and listening to see if they have a sense of humor.

Treat others the way you want to be treated. I am glad you are recognizing that and working on it....it is a work in progress for most people, we will never be perfect.
-
Mmm...most definitely! Ok last time I am posting on this today LOL!

Sure if I was male or a lesbian...but I am not into women lol.

I am but I am not a total paleo either...I do eat cheese and my shake has a bit of soy in it.
-
Visalus....not really paleo friendly but I like it. Good tasting stuff, fills me up for a while.

I am 5'7 and want to be back to 140....maybe 130. Not sure at this point anymore.

BWHAHAHAHAH! Yes been through that as well! My metabolism changed with my kids' birth as well...lovely. OP, congrats on your great start!

This was me. I had to do this with a perpetually depressed angry person for a number of years. Unfortunately I got sucked into towards the end.....but when I was strong again I was able to start doing the above. Valuing your own good mental and emotional health is vital when these things happen.

Depression can be a motivator....and obviously it can be a deterrent. I have experienced both in my life, seen it. Work with it. Admitting something needs to be changed and then taking steps to change are the hardest parts. Keep it up!

Many many things....I think fried chicken is my biggest. I just don't buy it....but once in a great while I might have one piece.

Does not bother me. And I was married to (and have dated men) who are currently overweight. I have more important things I am looking for in a person than their looks.
-
I don't think I have been on here long enough to develop one lol.
-
OP...you look good. Keep it up!
