HAHAHAHA! Full time trolling pedantic sycophant.

Great! Very motivating! Although I do not embrace my flaws :blushing: At my age, I try my best to hide them!

The OP joined in March 2013. He has 916 posts. After reading and posting on average 8 posts a day, you would think he knows better than this. I call this a joke on us.

Is it even healthy for a man to eat only1200 calories a day? You went over by 36 calories and this makes you give up? This is either a joke or the OP needs a reality check.

Hello Ladies, I'm new to MFP. My goals for July are simple. To read my copy of "Precision Nutrition" and plan meals. I will be on holiday until the 15th, so I will begin my diet, weigh-in and exercise then. I will try to get to the gym 2x a week for body pump class and do yoga whenever I have time. Health and happiness to…

Not really. It depends upon the relationship. My husband respects what I do, but he is not on board the fitness bandwagon. I'm a fairly solitary person, for the most part, and enjoy doing some things by myself. Especially exercise.

This is the truth. I can't tell you what you are doing wrong, but I would get a food scale, weigh everything that goes into your mouth, and record your calories faithfully. Do this for four weeks, then reevaluate your progress. Sure, there are medications that may cause your body to hold onto weight. You just have to work…

True. But I'm still wondering which "toxins" she is cleansing.

Go by measurements, not the scale. Measure once a week, weigh yourself once a month. Results take time, and being patient is part of the hard work. My youngest children are identical twin boys, who are now 24 years old. A mother of twins can do anything! Keep working on your diet and the weight will come off. Put your…

Even if you have a stripper pole and a trapeeze?

True for me, too.

I never liked the term, "Obesity epidemic". To me, an epidemic is spread by germs or other infectious agents. I gained weight by eating too much and not exercising, period. Not because the weight charts changed, or BMI is different, or I have hypothyroidism and am postmenopausal, I caught the obesity germ and have the fat…

I've tried GNC and Optimum Nutrition. Both are blends of whey and whey isolates.

Unsupportive friends are not friends. *unless you are doing something that's bad for you.

May I join your group, please? I'm new to MFP and would like to join women my age seeking to better themselves. We don't have the same needs as the younger folks, and I need to relate to my generation for support. I am 59 years old, and starting my journey ( again) to being fit. Thanks!

Seriously! You wippersnappers remember the 70's? Us old-timers invented the freak flag. Get a lesson in history. Vietnam. Sex, drugs and rock and roll. Platform shoes. Arnold and bodybuilders on Venice Beach. Talk about being stared at? Everything old is new again.

This is spot on. You need to distinguish Oly lifting ( bumper plates) from Power lifting ( iron plates). Power lifters will rack the bar (except for dead lifts) Iron plates don't bounce too well.

Thanks, mikeyboy. Looking forward to getting busy.

I became hypothyroid a few years after menopause. I take 100 mcg. Tirosint each day.
