  • Nice I'll have to try making that, I have all the ingredients... I ended up making Zuchinni Chocolate Cake w/ Strawberries and Whip Cream (homemade). It was so rich and moist...
  • I just started using my BodyMedia tool and I think they have made great improvements. I think in the beginning your calories burned will seem low but I read it takes time for it to adjust and even out.
  • I had a similar issue where for years I was feeling sluggish and showed all the symptoms. My GP kept telling me my Thyroid Levels were "normal." I took matters into my own hands and visited an Endocrinologist who had great reviews. As soon as he did a physical, checking skin, hair, size of thyroid, he suggested I had…
  • I also have been trying to keep it under 100g, but in the past when I kept it below 50g, my weight loss seemed much easier. Now, I am on a strength training program and wondering if i should stay around 100g, or still drop under 50g for fat loss? Will I still be able to increase muscle mass like I want to while still…
  • Salads are my favorites, especially taco salad. You could cook up some ground beef which is fairly quick, and make a salad. You can bake frozen chicken (no effort) with some spices sprinkled on top, or kerry gold grass fed cheese (my favorite). If you are ok with eating Mung Beans, they have a pasta made from Mung Beans…
  • Hope I don't confuse anyone, but my understanding of the whole process is this: When we consume carbs, the carbs are broken down into glucose, which enters the blood stream and causes spikes in blood sugar. Your body then signals the pancreas to release Insulin. Insulin instructs the liver and muscles to absorb glucose…
  • I was going to say eat less sugars, and more protein. Protein is very filling, and you should be getting between .7-1g/lean body mass. You can also eat less sugary foods, food example milk has 10g of sugar, perhaps you can try Almond Milk?? You should aim to keep added sugars to below 24g.
  • I also eat Primal (dairy/some oats) and trying out a more zone approach. My diary is open to friends. I don't restrict what I eat but I try to eat as much whole foods as possible.
  • I also eat Paleo/Primal. Always open to having new friends for support :)
  • Wow amazing transformation. Did you follow any guidelines to what you ate and the type of exercises you did? You look pretty defined in terms of muscles and I have been trying to also get muscle definition.
  • You can add some moderate weights to begin and work yourself up to heavier weights. Close to 10 years ago when I first began working out after gaining some weight from my college days, I saw better and longer lasting results, just by doing 30 mins of weight training 3-5x week. I never lifted prior and was only doing cardio…
  • Any lentil dish in the slow cooker is amazing, they come out very tender. Cook on low for 6-8 hours with water and necessary spices. Helpful hint is not to add the salt until the end. Not sure what the reasoning is, but in my experience it comes out better that way.
  • I use it for cooking and have no issues in weight gain, since it does not get absorbed like other fats. It is very energizing as well.
  • Unfortunately, you can't really concentrate on one area of your body to "tone", however, you can add exercises to avoid minimize loss from another. Having a flat stomach is obtained by eating right (80% nutrition - eating clean) combined with exercise to maximize fat loss. While you do this you may end up losing some…
  • Cauliflower crust - http://yourlighterside.com/cauliflower-pizza-crust-with-gourmet-vegetarian-toppings/ Been wanting to try this for some time, I've seen it on Pinterest over and over
  • Amazing! Keep up the great work :)
  • I have been. Have you been successful with it?
  • You should look into Jamie Eason Live Fit program. Its a 12-week program and the exercises are not complicated. I have been doing it for a week now and I am happy with the progress. She explains that you should lift 60% of maximum rep you can handle. So for example, for a bicep curl, if you can do one perfect curl at 20lb…
  • Everyone's needs for shoes are different. I would suggest going to a running store and letting them see what type of shoe you would benefit from. Especially since you are going to be running, you want to ensure you have good support. I used to run in generic shoes (nike) and I had pain up my legs. After I got fit for a…
  • I love lifting heavy weights...best advice I ever received...
  • Don't give up. Your body might just need something to shock it, like a new routine. If you are only doing cardio, try encorporating strength training with heavy weights. That might give your body the change it needs.
  • I've recently upped my weight training (lifting HEAVY weights) and seen the most dramatic results. Ever since I started about 3 weeks ago, I've had people tell me I look a lot smaller. Prior to that I was doing cardio religiously, including running 5 miles a day 4-5x week, elliptical, stairs, etc w/ only 30 mins of weight…
  • I love it. I think you will get stronger legs, My calves are a lot more defined, and I haven't bulked up. When I was doing it regulary, my thighs looked great.... Its a super caloric burn b/c its a form of HIIT.
  • Wow, first of all. You are still admiration for losing that much weight. You took CONTROL of your life when you decided to start your weight loss journey. I've been going through some issues as well, and I've gained back all the weight I lost plus some. It's hard but sometimes you lose control and you need to find that…
  • I'm currently reading "Pictures of You." So far I like it, I got through 50 pages on an hour and half flight.
  • I checked out the website. I really like it. I've been using bodybuilding.com as well but both are great.
  • Well, I don't have a specific goal for my fat intake. Since I eat a lot of lean meat and fresh veggies, I dont really have to count. I also stick to non-fat or low fat dairy, when I do have it...which is maybe once a week. I get a most of my "healthy fats" from almonds, avocados, olive oil, and then the minimal trace fat…
