  • Wrong. I'm covered in stretch marks from four pregnancies. They had all faded to that glossy white color prior to starting my weightloss. Around the time I hit 40 pounds lost I noticed some fresh new *red* stretchmarks. They are different, not wide like the pregnancy ones, very narrow and thin, and they don't run as long…
  • BMF here and I love it. You can get a good deal through Costco that comes with a year's free subscription. Amazon and ebay have better prices too. I got the bluetooth version from Amazon and I love checking my stats easily through the day. Very motivating!
  • I go to the gym. That makes me work with intensity even when I don't really feel like it because I don't want to look like a slacker in front of the other gym-goers. Besides, about 25 minutes into it my adreniline and happy hormones get going and I"m happy I went.
  • AWESOME!!! Good for you!
  • When I go to the gym I double-up by wearing a Polar HRM with the BodyMedia Fit. For stationary bike and elliptical/Arc work I move the BMF to my calf and it catches the activity much better - it registers about 80-90% of what the Polar captures as far as calorie burn. It's a bit of a pain to move it around - from calf to…
  • Great idea! Here's mine at 40 pounds lost. Starting weight was 270, the more current pic was at about 230.
  • I once read a report about how turkey bacon is most definitely NOT a better choice health-wise than the real thing. It specifically referred to the exhaustive list of additives and higher sodium content as the reason. So you are right. Turkey bacon IS a lie!!
  • I ignore the sugar. Every morning I have the same breakfast - iced vanilla latte (make it myself), two pieces of whole grain toast w/ peanut butter and cinnamon. That puts me over my MFP limit for sugar for the day. Whatever. I focus on getting in a good amount of protein and fiber and keep my overall carbs in check.
  • Nope. My period did lighten up the first few months, but it's business as usual nowadays. However, in high school I was borderline anorexic and didn't have a period for about 10 months.
  • I average 1 pound a week, sometimes a bit more, but less than 1.5 pound/week. That is with a 7000 deficit per week (based on MFP and my BodyMedia Fit), so while the math would indicate I should lose 2 pounds a week, it just doesn't work out that way. When I try to raise my deficit (by lowering calories and increasing…
  • Are you getting enough water? sleep? Your body could be adjusting to the new activity... and maybe even holding onto water to repair muscle. Keep at it and you should see positive changes soon!
  • Chobani nonfat strawberry yogurt Blue Diamond jalepeno almonds baby carrots apple
  • I have BPA-free water jugs that I fill at the grocery store with filtered water (reverse osmosis filtration) for 30 cents a gallon. Our tap water tastes terrible, I can't stand it - even with the PUR filter from our fridge dispenser or a Brita pitcher.
  • I have popcorn (no butter/oil squirted on it though - yuck!) and a big fat Diet Coke. I used to be a soda-aholic, but now the only time I indulge is when I go see a movie in a theatre.
  • You look fabulous!! Way to go!!!!
  • Awesome!! Congrats - all your hard work is paying off!!
  • You look wonderful!!! Congratulations and best wishes for the next 30! :)
  • I started at 270 pounds and wore a 20/22 pant size. After losing 40 pounds I'm in an 18. I think I'l be able to lose sizes quicker now...I'm hoping with every 15-20 pounds I'll go down a size now. You are doing great! Keep up the amazing work!!!! :)
  • When muscles are worked hard they hold onto water as part of the repair process. Keep exercising, keep hydrated.... the excess will eventually flush out and you'll see a nice drop on the scale!
  • bumping to add to my topics... I'm struggling with this too. I'm doing lots of reps with 10 pound weights. Like 50 reps a day, for months, and I am not seeing the improvement I want!
  • It took 20 pounds to lose my first size, but only 10 pounds to lost each size after that!
  • I can live without hotdogs. But it says all "processed meat". Does that include things like deli meat? I can't give up my turkey sandwiches!
  • I have to eat before, but I wait a bit until my tummy doesn't feel full. I'm at my best going an hour after I eat breakfast (latte, 2 slices whole wheat toast with peanut butter). Then I am full of energy and can really give it my all. The other day I was off schedule, only ate one piece of toast/pb and then didn't get to…
  • Atticus and Harper are not that unusual. They are both from the acclaimed American novel To Kill A Mockingbird. Atticus is a much-loved character in the book and the author's name was Harper Lee. Both are very popular names among literature lovers.
  • Yay! Good for you! I recently did the same thing - I was stuck at 232 for weeks. I raised my calories from 1700 to 2000 for two weeks. Three days in I lost 2.5 pounds! :) I just lowered my calories back down - I'm now a few days back at 1700 and have lost a few more! Woohooo!
  • I weigh myself every morning and I track my weight for every loss, even the .1 losses. It's very motivational for me. Weighing myself is one of my favorite things to do these days - it's what gets me out of bed in the morning instead of rolling over to catch some more zzzz's.
  • My guy exploded verbally between the ages of 4 and 7. On his 4th bday he was still very quiet and only spoke two or three word sentences. These days he's a total chatterbox. He is really a different child now than he was then. Once he hit elementary school he really took off. We are so blessed and lucky to have an…
  • Ha! I was just thinking the same thing - my 4yo daughter is 42 pounds. And when I carry her she feels SO HEAVY. I used to carry that weight around on me 24/7!! So crazy to think about! Congrats on your achievement!!!
  • That's what I have too - Premium Nutrition. 1g sugar and 1g carb per serving! I like that they are premade so I don't have to hassel with mixing it myself. I keep them in the coldest spot in the back of my fridge. I like them way more than I ever thought possible. LOL
