  • I just tried to read the article and I got a 404 error :(((( I really needed some input into cardio and fat loss... PS - I change it up, alternating between LISS and HIIT 6 days a week. But my BF% seems stuck despite continuing weight loss.
  • I make sure I leave enough calories in my day to account for BLT's, since I like to make sure the food I cook tastes good. As for after dinner, if there is food left on the plate, it immediately goes under running water into the disposal. That way I'm not tempted to have seconds. I also put any leftover food away before…
  • My face actually looks younger now, but my neck is betraying me. I guess I had a really fat neck, because I know have that turkey neck going on. But it made me feel amazing when I went shopping with my son and I was asked if we were married! That never happened when I was 300lbs...
  • I concur with what other posters said. But with that said, it's possible your arm "fat" May be loose skin. Unfortunately that is the case for me, so I'm going to see a plastic surgeon when I reach goal and have it removed. It's the bane of my weight loss, and I'm at least one size larger on top because of the dang arms!!
  • You rock girl!!!
  • Wow! You look great. I feel like we're twins (only about 25 yrs apart). I also started in July 2013 at a little over 290 lbs. And my goal weight is between 170 and 180. It also looks like you went through a transformation with your hair in November (as did I) You're going to be at goal in no time!! Congratulations on the…
  • HAHA!! I remember those things. In fact, our state fair had a vendor that featured a vibrating platform for weight loss. LOL!!
  • P28 bagels are awesome! 28 grams of protein, and very filling. A bit hard to find though... luckily our local Wegman's carries them.
  • My favorite are New Balance compression crops. Shorts always seemed to ride up (I have a bad case of thunder thighs, even 85lbs down), so longer leggings seem to be better. But full leggings make me sweat in the gym. I like the NB because they have drawstrings. I was wearing UnderArmour, but without drawstrings, I found…
  • I go anyway. Instead of the elliptical or running, I'll walk on the treadmill. Instead of lifting, I'll do some core/balance/flexibility. No matter how rotten I feel or how tired I am, I always feel better after a workout.
  • Feel free to add me. I'm more than halfway through my current weight loss, but I look at this as a lifelong journey to health and fitness. I've been overweight almost my entire life, and am determined to end it. Best of luck to all starting out. If you can make the first months, you can finish it!!
  • *deleted* once I read your response. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders. Your parents are concerned because they love you. For pizza... eat 1 slice.. make them happy. Then enjoy salad and soup.
  • What kind of differences are you noticing? I have (and use) a One that I keep clipped to my waistband, and got a Force for Christmas. I worry about accuracy of the Force with swinging my arms (or not swinging, when carrying something). But I like the convenience of looking at my wrist to see my steps. Do you have a…
  • My work breakfast is a P28 high protein bagel with low fat cream cheese, and coffee. On weekends, I try to have egg white omelets or protein pancakes. I usually also have a protein shake, since I go to the trainer early on Sat mornings. So far it's working for me :)
  • ^ This I've been surprised by the lack of support I've received from my female friends. Most of them ignore my weight loss altogether or have to one up me in their conversations. One of my New Year's resolutions was to rid myself of these toxic friends, and for the most part, I've been able to. I'd rather have a couple of…
  • I get that. But I'm surprised the other grains aren't promoted. They all have more protein and fiber than any rice, and are tasty. Thanks for your reply
  • My story is still a work in progress, but here I am so far...
  • Fantastic job!!! Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing
  • I started my journey at a 24/26 and am now 14/16 (depending on brand). Hope to get to size 10... have NEVER been a size 10. I was a Jr. 13 when I was 11, and the smallest I've been my adult life is a 12. I attribute my ability to currently fit a 14 to the availability of stretch fabrics. In 1990 when I was a 12, jeans…
  • Not really a verbal compliment, but when I picked my son up at the airport for Christmas (he hadn't seen me since July), he just about walked by me. He said he didn't recognize me I looked so different (in a good way, he said)
  • Beer. I will give up everything else. I love my beer (sissy beers need not apply) :)
  • Congrats to all the women on here that have succeeded!! I still have a ways to go, but I feel so much better where I am today. Happy holidays all!!
  • 5'9" 215 and size US 16 (squeezed into a generous 14 too)
  • What's working for me is logging everything going into my mouth. Then I share my diary with friends and family who keep me accountable. When I look at the Krispy Kreme (or in today's case, crème brulee French toast) I ask myself, "Do I want everyone to see that I've eaten that?" Usually I say no and walk away. I also use…
  • Talk about disparities!! At 291 I was a tight 24 or 26W. At 40lbs down, someone asked if my jeans were so big because I had to wear a diaper. I went shopping the next day and wound up in a size 18. Now at 215, I'm wearing a 14 or 16. I'm hoping to get down to 170 ( at 5'9") and wear a 12 or maybe 10. That said, I refuse to…
  • Definitely not alone! I'm a long time yo-yo'er (I was yo-yo dieting before you were born!) I can go up and down 60 or 70 lbs the way a pianist can go up and down his scales. I also get depressed because it takes 30 or 40 lbs before my clothes really fit differently, so I will sometimes say "why bother" This time was…
  • WOW!! Thank you for the video. I will now be more diligent in weighing my food. I knew to level out my scoops (and used a knife) but I never knew they didn't really mean a 1/2 cup of oatmeal. I always underestimate my calories, knowing there's creep in there (the nibble from my husband's plate, the taste while cooking).…
