Take a look at the "Daily Check In - Summer 2014" Thread. It helps with keeping with the daily goals. Soon they will be switching over to the Fall 2014 thread.

I tried spinning one time... and within 15 minutes my bottom was killing me! I stayed for another 15 minutes trying to ride it out, but I simply couldn't, For the next day or more I couldn't sit down! I will admit I am very overweight, so my rear doesn't fit very nicely on that seat. I can say that for the 30 minutes I was…

I have only taken a couple classes, but I have REALLY enjoyed them. They (depending on the instructor) barely feel like "exercise" in the sense that its FUN, yet it still can burn quite a few calories. As for the amount of calories I don't wear a hrm so I can't say anything concrete but I do wear a fitbit (fancy pedometer)…

I too have a fitbit and I LOVE it! For the last year my goal was to get 5,000 steps per day. Sometimes I would hit 10k or so. Recently I got a treadmill and I raised my goal to 7,500 steps per day. I am walking/running outside mostly but when the weather would have usually kept me inside, I can now still reach my goal. Now…

Thanks everyone for all your insights and wisdom. I really appreciate it! Today I did W5D2 on the treadmill. It was hard, but I honestly expected it to be much harder (I didn't expect to be able to finish it) The heat/humidity is still quite intense here, and my running time has to be adjusted since I now have family…

Competed W5D1 again... this time I did it on the treadmill. The weather is incredibly humid and I figured I would try out the treadmill, and since I had never used this for running before I would redo a day instead of charging ahead (I also had a REALLY hard time with the runs last time). I was running at 4 mph... does…

W5D1 Done... I did well for the first two 5 min sections but the last one was really difficult. I can't go any slower, as it is I feel like I walk faster than I am jogging. I will just keeping trying day by day and do what I can.

LOVE the title! I am 5'4" and when I started mfp one 14 months ago I was 264.5lbs In Jan I weighed 197, unfortunately I fell off the wagon due to medical issues, but I am back at it and as of Aug 22, 2014 I am down to 200.2lbs I do not really have a goal in mind, but I want to be fit, not skinny. I would rather weigh more…

W4D3 Done! Today was brutally difficult, and I am not sure why. Hopefully things are better for my next run.
-
W4D2 Done... The last 5 min run is still very difficult but I'm getting it done!
-
W4D1 Done! After I failed on Monday I looked at things to see why I felt to weak and tired, and I realized the day before I had been fighting a bout of depression and had not eaten enough. So even though I felt better on Monday and was looking forward to my run, I simply didn't have enough fuel in me.

W4D1... FAILED! I finished the first 5 min run (barely) but after the second 3 minute run I was toast. Last week I know I was not doing GREAT with the runs but I was finishing them. I don't know if I should try W4D1 again Wednesday or maybe repeat W3D3 once or twice. Suggestions?

W3D3 Done! When I started the week, the last 30-45 seconds of the 3 min run I was gasping for breath, but I made it... today I had no problem with my breath, but my legs were sore. This was the first time my legs got sore at all!

I recently started jogging myself and I am using the zenlabs C25K app (Couch to 5K) It starts with just 60 sec jogging with 90 sec walking and it builds from there. I started out barely being able to jog for 30 seconds but I am rather surprised at how helpful the app is. I have yet had a day I haven't been able to finish.…

W3D2 Done! I am so amazed at what is happening with my body. Two days ago I BARELY finished the 3min runs (honestly I wished I would die so I didn't have to finish them) Today while I wouldn't say they were easy, they were nowhere NEAR as hard... I was looking forward to the chime to tell me to walk but I wasn't out of…

Caseyjarryn I know how daunting the next week's runs look, but just take it slow and easy. I just did W3D1 run today and I was REALLY nervous but somehow I managed to do it!
-
W3D1 DONE!!! I was really nervous about the 3min runs (double my previous) but I did it!!! I couldn't have gone a step further, but I am looking forward to improving over the next two runs. Its amazing how far I've come in just two weeks.... at the beginning of this I was gasping for breath at 30secs!
-
Hubby and I finished W2D3 today. I am finishing the 90 sec run decently, but I am really concerned with the increase to 3mins for the next run. I am already going really slow... if I go any slower I will probably be going backwards! :-p

I'm new here. My husband and I have signed up for a 5K run for Sept 20. Today we completed W2D2. When I started last week I had trouble even running 45 seconds but with all the tips from this group today I breezed through the run. I did have one question... I got a blister on my foot (at the base of my big toe) because I…

Thanks everyone for your support and advice. I think the toughest part of all this is when I saw my doctor I was feeling REALLY good (other than my ToM)! He saw my blood work and told me I had a major Thyroid issue and put me on meds for it, and the bc is to regulate my ToM to make it less painful and more predictable.…

Oh my goodness. Sorry it should read Jan 17 I reached 197.1 NOT 171.4. Sorry for the confusion!

Fitbit only counts steps. So if that class is a lot of in place movement it is likely that you burned more calories than your fitbit recognizes. If it was a class like Zumba or something where you are constantly moving across the floor, it tends to be more accurate.

It may sound like I'm not taking question seriously but I truly believe this. I have battled depression for most of my life. I have tried meds, but I (and my family) hated how they made me feel, so I stopped taking them and avoided doctors. (my poor husband) In June I saw a picture of myself, and that sent me into a spiral…

Hi everyone! Its been a long time since I've posted here. Life has been a mess, and I've had a lot of stuff going on. I hope everyone is doing well and if I have time tonight (daughter is at a sleep over and hubby is going to a concert with his friend) I will look over the posts and comment where applicable hehe Starting…

Hubby and I love our MMORPG's and have played EQ, and still play EQ2 extensively. We have also played Wow, DDO and Vanguard. I think they are the primary reason why I have gained so much weight in the last decade plus. There were times in the past where we would barely look up from the computer monitor for HOURS, and of…

GoldK - I'm glad that your problem turned out to be easily handled and doesn't need surgery or anything so serious. About your mother... Is there ANY chance that she meant it as a compliment... such as... WOW you look like you weigh so much less. I feel like I look much larger than you appear. I don't know your mother, so…

Thanks for the idea sunshyncatra, but unfortunately it is a special dinner at a yacht club, with a specific menu planned (I don't know what is being offered) I do tend to look up the menus before I go out for meals but even last night I went to Applebee's and couldn't find the nutritional info on what I order. I was able…

Hello everyone! I haven't logged in here for a bit. I have been doing okay until this last few days and I when I asked myself what has changed, I realized... I was missing this accountability!!! I ate over on Saturday, I ate over last night, I am going to have a difficult time tomorrow when I go out for a "ladies…
