Thanks! I just got the game this weekend and so far, its been great. Unfortunately, an apple watch is not really in the budget right now. I will just use the wii option for now

I have never heard of this prior to today! I had my tubal ligation 14 years ago (had not used birth control prior to that) I remember a short time later, my periods had got so bad that I was lying in bed for days in pain and my "cycle" being worse than ever before. I never put the two things together. I figured that the…

I'm a 38 year old SAHM of four (ages 13-21) Two of my children live on their own, my second youngest, lives with dad. My youngest lives at home with me and my husband. My eldest is about to make me a grandmother in February. I started losing weight July 2013 at 265lbs and today I am currently at 189.3lbs. I want to be fit…

I don't know the answers to your questions (and I am quite interested in hearing them) but... I was told SPECIFICALLY that I should switch to maintenance calories during my recovery in January 2015. Your body needs a lot of calories to repair itself after surgery. I know how frustrating the thought of gaining weight and…

So AWESOME!!

I personally use these. http://www.amazon.ca/Motorola-S10-HD-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B004QWOSLK Can I promise if they are the best? No.... they were the best I found at the best price. They are a play/pause/skip function as well as volume adjustment. They also have a microphone and the ability to take a phone call.…

I love my armband, and I do exactly what MeanderingMammal does. I also have Bluetooth headphones. The Bluetooth headphones are GREAT when you are running on your own, but you cannot remove only one ear if you have a partner you are running with. With the typical headphones you can remove one and still have an ear on your…

Thanks snbouchard81 - yes.... before this I was wearing a pair of Sketchers... they are more walking shoes than running shoes, but they were comfortable, so until they were ready to be replaced I kept using them. The new ones were New Balance. I have an issue with supination (I tend to walk on the outside of my feet…

I am so frustrated at the moment! I am one run away from graduation, but unfortunately I went out and bought a new pair of shoes last week, and they really ended up messing me up. My hips were on fire, and my knees were hurting. It took DAYS for me to be able to walk normally again. After feeling pretty good for a few…

I actually have had a very similar issue. I started losing weight July 1st, 2013. By mid August last year I had started having spotting constantly. My periods have always been problematic (extremely painful, and heavy bleeding) My doctors tried different types of birth control. Every time the doctors changed my medicines,…

upsaluki - Thanks! Yes I am still doing the running clinic, although there wasn't one this Monday, since in Canada it was Thanksgiving. I actually went to get a new pair of shoes the other day, and went for a short run with them. I came home and I was in PAIN! My hips feel like they are on fire still, one day later. I took…

W8D2 Done! One more run left before graduation. We planned on being done today but its really been rainy lately, so we've had to "reschedule" the runs.

I have been wondering this myself lately. I currently run around a lake (about 10mins around/lap) so I can get back to my car, where my water is stored, if necessary. I have thought about a hydration belt so that I am not tied to the lake, but I am also allergic to bee/wasp stings, and need to have an epi pen available as…

I personally love chocolate & mint. There are chocolate mints that are called Andes, depending on the package, one small piece is 25-35 calories. Every night before bed, I have one or two pieces if I have the calories left. I believe this is why I have been as successful as I have been. It still gives me my chocolate BUT…

W8D1 Complete! Today's run wasn't as good as my previous runs this week. I am not sure if its because I was quite chilly, because I ran on an empty stomach (first thing in the morning), or because I was running without music. Either way I look forward to my next run and doing better.

Wow upsaluki that is wonderful! Tomorrow, hubby and I start the final week of C25K. I couldn't imagine finishing a 5K in less than 30mins yet! Are you going to continue on to C210K?
-
W7D3 Complete! I can't believe I am one week away from graduating! I am not sure if I should go STRAIGHT into the 5-10k bridge program or if I should run a couple full 5K days before starting.

Did you have your ovaries out as well? I am having a hysterectomy on Jan 5, so while I haven't gone through this yet, I know that when the docs were playing with my meds that also messed with my hormones I had a similar issue. I was constantly hungry, and couldn't control myself. I had gained about 15lbs during a 5 month…

W7D2 Done! Tonight was the first night that I didn't want to die at the end of my run. I started a "learn to run clinic" last week and this week's session was all about finding your pace and working in your zone (heart rate monitor) and I used that tonight without the heart rate monitor. At the end of my run I was TIRED,…

I am having EXACTLY the same feeling in my knees as well. Not particularly painfull, but achy, and problems with stairs, and feeling unstable. I am on W7D1, but I am doing Zumba throughout the week as well, so I run 3x/week and do zumba 3x/week. It was when I added zumba that I REALLY noticed my knees causing more…

I have had such a busy week this last week that I haven't had much chance to log in...never mind record my runs. I think the last run I posted was W6D2 on Aug 20. On Aug 25 I did W6D3 and on Sat, Aug 27 I did W7D1. With school starting, and my husband going back to work, and I just started a running clinic, and I am back…

I think that it depends on you. If MOST of your activity is walking/jogging and you need the accountabliilty to make sure you aren't being a couch potato, then fitbit might be the thing for you. If on the other hand you do a lot of movement throughout the day and want to ACCURATELY account for the calories you expend…

Fitbit only tracks stepping activities (walking/running) When I do Zumba, I just use the step data that fitbit gives me rather than adding in the class as most of the calorie burn in Zumba is stepping. If you did some type of exercise that wasn't predominately steps you would have to manually add that. If you have used the…

Im not sure what kind of progress reports you are looking for, but the fitbit.com website has records of past days.

Hi there I bought my fitbit One a year ago. I am/used to be VERY sedentary! I actually was AMAZED with how few steps I took in a day when I started. I actually had to do more to be considered "sedentary" according to mfp lol. I found my fitbit really helped keep me accountable. If I had started trying to lose weight and…

Hi there! I am 5'3 and I am currently 191.9lbs I started the beginning of July 2013 at 265lbs. I did really well until January when my doc started "adjusting" my thyroid meds. The adjustments through me off for a bit, and I gained approximately 10lbs back. I am back on track now and have continued to lose. I am 38 years…

W6D1 Done! It was difficult today but that was completely my fault. My hubby asked me if we could run on Wednesday afternoons and I agreed.... but I forgot that Zumba is on Wednesday mornings! I went to Zumba this morning (because I really enjoy it) and then ran this afternoon. My legs are so sore tonight! I'm gonna move…

I think "active minutes" is calculated on a specific amount of calories burned during a time frame. I use the fitbit one and have to do extensive exercise to get "active minutes"

Finished W5D3!!!!!!! YAY!!!! I REALLY slowed down for today's run. I have been re-running W5D2 for the last week or so while my hubby caught up to me (and I was scared out of my wits if I wanted to be completely honest) My last run on Friday I ran it at an average pace of a 9.18 minute mile and felt like I was going to DIE…
