  • I think for me there are three main things that I have done 1) drink water - lots of it. 2) portion sizes - I can now eyeball a portion of most foods within 1-2g! I started by putting out what I thought was a portion and then weighing it to see how much I was over and adjusting accordingly. I do occasionally weigh portions…
  • welcome to the club, I've only been here for a week or so myself. it is a great feeling.
  • Hello everyone, I am 5' 4" on a good day ans have been since the day I started secondary school. I have short legs, so every pair of trousers I buy I need to get turned up. I am top heavy so my body blends into my assets! I have just had a NSV with a new bra for the first time ever in a smaller size back and cup - usually…
  • wtg - I have just got into 18's from 22/24's so I know the feeling well I have a pair of next 16's which I am working towards.
  • sorry doesn't sound like you are eating eneough, minimum NET calories for a man need to be 1500. Different folks will say there is no such thing as starvation mode etc. but try tweaking your calories and see what happens over a few weeks. you might gain for a week or two and then should start to see a downward drop again.…
  • I have an "overhang" or flap - I have had it for way to long, and having had two c/sections I know it is going to be very difficult to get rid of it. I measure "it" seperately - I do hips under it, and it doesn't effect the waist measurement. It has a huge effect on what size trousers I can wear. I have lost 7" off of it,…
  • the important thing is that your net calories is more than 1200. so you might need to eat 60-80% to get the value up to that level. I was quite surprised how quickly my weight loss stalled when I slipped below the net 1200. good luck
  • i am the same my job can be slow or very busy, I generally leave it as normal and use the extra "burn" to offset where I might have overestimated my calorie burn or under estimated my calorie intake. But if I end up doing something sustained over a while that works up a sweat then I log it! It does all come down to…
  • if you look at my diary for Wed 4th i had indian, stick to boiled rice - about half of what they give you as the carbs in it can mount up. Avoid the mango sauce and popadoms as they are full of fat & sugar. puri- are heavy in fat too! I can't eat the hot stuff, but most things that come with no sauce will be your lower…
  • I weigh 202lbs and I am just into a uk size 18, I can get a 16 on but not do up the buttons. I am big in the boob department too (KK+) so I am still in a size 20 top even though I have lost 8" off my band/back size in bra! I have always had a spare tyre between my belly button & bikini line (not that I would ever wear…
  • Do remember that MFP builds in a deficit already and if your NET calories are too low it can hinder your weight loss. You will get lots of differing advice about I do or I don't eat back exercise calories but I think it is a very personal thing it depends a lot on you and your body. I have lots to loose (60+) so I should…
  • I've had this happen a few times, the reasons I have had have been because of too few cells on the swab or blood still showing. so try not to fret too much, it doesn't necessarly mean the worst. I don't have a regular cycle hence it taking me over 10 years to have my children, but if I booked an appointment to get smear…
  • I have a four year old who is borderline underweight, she has always been small and needed her tonsil & adinoids removed at 2.5years due to them being too big. ( she had to hold her breath to swallow, lots of snoring and even apnea - which was very scarey) she has a good apetite but quickly looses focus on eating, wanting…
  • probabbly not that weird in comparison to some but I have had lamb sweetbreads (testicles) gator tounge - beef pigs trotters rabbit lamb kidney & heart ostrich kangeroo reindeer. brawn (jellied pig head)
  • My suggestion would be - 1) log everything into MFP - it it goes over your lips log it. 2) Just do this for two typical weeks - if you have a big event or a week which is outside your norm then do an extra week, then look at it and consider what it shows you. how many calories am I averaging per day, am I eating way to…
  • Sorry I am in the "nothing else so eat up or go hungry"camp. I have to girls of 4 & 2 and the youngest one eats anything (but we now found she can't have fresh tomatoes but is ok with cooked) eldest is a little wary of mushrooms bcause it was the last thing she ate before coming down with a d&v bug, she still gets them…
  • I've just gone over on mine by eating my first chocolate of the day. Considering going for a short walk to ease it off - I did 5 miles yesterday so I am not stressing.
  • I looked into having a reduction over 10 years ago, but they wouldn't do it until I lost 70lb. I also hadn't had children at that point, so I decided to wait until I had got them so the boobs could earnt their keep, not knowing it would take me over 10 years to have the children we had planned! So I am now 40 with two…

  • how much water are you drinking? That has a big effect on me. the other thing is how much weight are you trying to loose? if you have less than 30lb to loose, you won't do it on a high calorie deficit, you need to scale back the deficit to 1.5-1lb a week or if less than 10lb to 1- 0.5lb a week and concentrate on toning and…
  • I bow to your awesomeness, I have never managed a proper pus-up never seem co-ordinated eneough to get close!
  • great work, I had a similar experience the other week with my jeans falling down as I carryed my little one! Nice to know the work is paying off.

  • you will find lots of differing views on this, so your best bet is to do some reading up and make some choices for you, taking into account certain factors that could make a difference. How much you have to loose? if you have lots to loose - like me over 60lbs then you can probabbly get away with regularly being under your…
  • well on a good day I'm 5'4" and at the moment my target weight is to get to 145lb which will put me into "normal" BMI range after that we will see where we go, I don't want it to be that high that if I gain a lb or 2 I am overweight again, but also I have no idea how "good" I will look at that sort of weight, or how I will…
  • I am a 40 year old mummy to girls 2 & 4, took over 10 years to become a mummy due to infertility issues. I really worry about being the old fat one, whemn my eldest starts school in september. feel free to add me

  • In the uk the recomendation is 10,000 steps a day and to loose weight it is just recommended to eat less calories. If I remember correctly they say about 600 caloris for the 10,000 steps. hope this helps
  • Dear pcos, I have beating you twice now, I have two daughters, the eldest one will start school this year. If you had your way I would have given up after trying for nearly 15 years, and for ten of them I didn't even know you were hiding in the background causing me all my problems, I have the skin tags, the hairy chin (…
  • i think there might be a little button at the back or on the bottom, but i won't be able to check mine until later tonight.
  • Good Afternoon, from a bright & fresh central london!
  • Another from south east london. but I work in central london.
  • I think I just started by cutting down how much sugar I had. I used to drink any hot drink with 2 sugars - then aged 14 I decided to stop. I gave up drinking tea as I just could not get on without any sugar. I will if I am stuck somewhere and it is the only option have a sweetner or half a sugar to make it drinkable.…
