Cookies - not the kind you eat, but what's on your PC. I like the kind you eat better...

I love soups, too. Check out this recipe - quite tasty, although I prefer to increase the liquids for a thinner broth. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving - I was about to congratulate you for planning more than a month in advance until I read all your post and saw "Canada"!…

Whoa, cowboy! You're more than halfway to your weight goal (great job, by the way!), exercising and cutting back on the intake. It all works. It can't "not work"! The scale is one small variable. Look at the other variables - how you feel, inches lost, muscle gain, et cetera. Change up your exercise routine, stay focused,…

Would love to help.

Diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 27 and that was about 30 years ago and my TSH has NEVER been stable for more than a year. Read everything you can get your hands on about this stinking disease because you can't necessarily depend on a general practitioner to know what they are talking about. YOU need to become the expert.…

I think the vote's still out on this issue (or, at least, there's not much agreement). Soy, which is a legume, contains isoflavones which are changed in the body to phytoestrogens, similar to estrogen. For a balanced review, check out: http://lpi.oregonstate.edu/infocenter/phytochemicals/soyiso/

Great question. Awful, embarrassing answer...1) 500-620 calories in Coca-Cola daily. 2) Lunch was always fast food or Subway - anywhere between 600-1500 calories. 3) Dinner was eating out or more fast food, about 800-1500 calories. Add in a candy bar, some popcorn and more Coke at the movies every weekend. Estimate would…

You're counting calories to improve your waistline and health, I assume, as compared to someone who binged on sugar and chocolate yet pointed the "eating disorder" finger at you? It's called projection. At the very least, it's rude. Either find a new lunch buddy or develop a greater tolerance for the ignorant. I don't…

Second hand information can often times get distorted. Also, you didn't say how much you wanted to lose, how much you weigh now, where you've set your other macros, and whether or not you're exercising (none, some, or lots)? Is your focus on weight loss only or health? Also, "about 60 g of carbs a day" is actually closer…

SO motivating! Thanks for sharing and a BIG congrats to you! Love the blended photos!

Who said anything about constant validation? The guy's lost a considerable amount of weight and his partner has said nothing - ever. Snarky.

Thanks! I'll check it out!

To use your example, someone who actually believes sugar is deadly poison is, I assume, misinformed or naïve, not intentionally misaligning facts to market or discredit a product and or theory. I get marketing agendas; what I don't get is the hostile, misuse of the phrase.

No one in particular.... Sorry, couldn't help myself. I bought a juicer a year ago as I've been on a major juice hunt for a copycat recipe for Spicy V8 juice, which I love! Unfortunately, the concoctions I've whipped up are dreadful and not worthy of sharing. Should you find anything that closely resembles Spicy V8,…

^This. Thank you. Reasoning with fact is sooooo much better. Bravo. Did I say thank you?

Well, the flip side of being able to order it your way - any way - is you can make healthy choices (but I get your drift).

Fantastic! Thanks for posting the pictures (stories are always good, too, but pictures really capture the improvements). Great job and wishing you continued success in your weight loss journey! You've got this!

Would you be willing to send some supporting information with this? I'm not finding what you're finding. I'll go first: http://authoritynutrition.com/4-ways-sugar-makes-you-fat/ http://uhs.berkeley.edu/facstaff/pdf/healthmatters/NutritionActionSugarBellyApril%202012.pdf…

And you can get cancer without smoking. What are you trying to say?

Sugar is very rarely stored as fat? What? I'm sure I'm misreading this.

Don't forget your jeans!

I would never give up my scale (although I did replace my old scale that did something similar to yours a couple of months ago with a nifty digital model that I can read without my glasses. Ha! ). I weight myself every morning. It helps keep me accountable.

Adorable - would also look great with a pair of jeans!

That's easy. Jeans. My Levi jeans from years ago that I've kept safe and packed away. A half dozen pairs of soft, faded, gloriously wonderful, exquisitely comfortable jeans. My Levi jeans are coming out of hiding! Did I say jeans? Maybe a new pair, too!

Major change and you're almost halfway to your goal. Good for you!

Perhaps others aren't subscribing to the MFP system, where slow weight loss is recommended (for everyone, no matter their weight). If you're 40 lbs overweight and believe that the only right way to lose weight is to eat back your calories because you're on a 1200 calorie diet, good for you. That will work. If someone else…

Thanks for this - I think this is very true and hadn't considered this side.

You have about the same amount of weight to lose as I did when I started July 1. If we were 15 lbs overweight, that 7 lbs would be much more visible! But, 7 lbs is still 7 lbs, so good for you! Despite having lost about 12% of my overall weight, no one - NOT ONE person has noticed that I've lost 23 lbs and I couldn't…

This. Well said and amen.

Holy Haul Over, girl...what an incredible transformation! You look amazing and I was really impressed with how you switched things up with the exercise routines. Great job!
