Unfortunately, I love them both, but rarely eat either. I use olive oil to coat cookware, but for spreads, I go with Laughing Cow Low Fat cheese. Comparatively speaking it's 35 calories and 2 grams of fat per wedge compared to butter's 102 calories and 12 grams of fat. Delicious on a piece of toast - dill rye being my…

You're doing great with the weight loss! I get totally bored with walking (outside or on the treadmill), and change up my music and scenery as much as possible to combat this. I also give myself 5-minute "blasts" of sit-ups, planks, et cetera several times a day...figure I can do just about anything for 5 minutes. If…

Rye bread causes less of an insulin spike than even whole wheat breads- 70 calories and delicious. Whole wheat pita bread is also good. About 80 calories and you can stuff them with yummy goodness.

Perhaps change your goal from losing weight to increasing your fitness level? I've read many posts from folks who say maintaining weight is more difficult than losing weight. I'm not there yet, so can't confirm but I do know that weight loss for me is directly tied to my activity level. Congratulations to you for sticking…

Both of you need to grow some...seriously. 1. Your house, your rules. This can be said with a smile on your face and compassion in your tone. 2. You do NOT have to buy junk food for your kids either. Replace the junk with fruit and nuts. 3. No food in your boyfriend's apartment and he's telling you what to buy for him? No.…

Yum, love omelettes! Lean ham, onion, mushrooms, cheese, bacon, shrimp, hot sauce...not at the same time, but whatever I happen to have on hand.

Walking can be great exercise! Too, there's nothing "stupid" about joining a gym to use the treadmill. If that's what it takes, then power to you! Let the naysayers move on in their own way and keep walking!

Yowza! Great job!

WOW! OMG! Way to GO!!!! You look terrific!

You're looking for ALL suggestions...but you've outlined what you will and will not do. Okay. I'm going to suggest that you do that. It will work. There is no secret formula, pill, or exercise that will do it all for you...it's consistency. Genuinely, I appreciate your busy schedule...lord knows I gained weight in grad…

I tried weighing once a week and it drove me bonkers. Now, I weigh every morning and "coincidentally" my late night snacking has all but stopped (I like it when my morning weigh in says I'm on the right track!). Change how you see the scale, which is not your enemy...you're collecting data, that's all. Use the data to…

Looks delish!

Well, flip me. I gotta try this! Amazing results!

Eat.

Fiber One Chocolate cereal dry is actually pretty good as a snack when I want sweet chocolate. Also, the added fiber helps.

I love Hapi Chili Bits. Zero fat, crunchy, tasty.

The above seems rather high unless you're a serious body builder... The Institute of Medicine recommends .8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, but here's a simpler way to break down your protein needs: Sedentary Weight in pounds X .4 grams protein Active Weight in pounds. X .6 grams protein Competitive athlete…

Stop already.

No amen from me. Losing fat means eating at a deficit and that IS about eating fewer calories than you burn. Too, YOU burn more calories as a male than the typical female...more muscle, right? I'm overweight because I was eating 3000 calories a day - the same you're eating to lose weight. Lots of variables here...

If you eat less than you need, you're going to get really hungry. When you get really hungry, you'll overeat. When you overeat, you'll give up...that seems to be a very common thread around here. How much were you eating before you started the weight loss? Deduct 500 from that each day and get a little exercise. Done.

You've lost a big chunk of weight (I'm envious!) so I say congratulations to you and keep up the good work. The dominance thing with your boyfriend is very unhealthy, but I commend you for hanging in there with the weight loss. Stick to the weight loss...the boyfriend? Well, up to you.

I like cats. My dogs, however, do not.

Agree with above. MFP recommends under 50 grams of protein for me and I upped it to 80 and cut back on the carbs.

Let me guess...you're selling a supplement. No thank you.

Sunday was my splurge day and treated myself to Red Lobster. What I really wanted was just a hot bowl of clam chowder, but since it was my monthly reward, I ordered the Admiral's Feast and ate until I was stuffed. I was really disappointed in myself...if I'd just eaten what my body said it wanted instead of overeating, I…

Great job! This is an accomplishment!

Dannon Greek yogurt has 80 calories and is a great source of protein. Apples are great this time of year and with a little string cheese, it's quite filling. Vegetables, of course...lots of them...steamed asparagus tips with lemon pepper has less than 50 calories for a plateful. I should add that I gave up doing the…

Not hopeless, you're just feeling powerless. Time for a sit-down-heart-to-heart with your mom because you are NOT powerless. Ongoing dialogue, in a caring, non-judgmental manner will help both you and your mom grow.
