It's nice to hear people struggle with this too. I've found that sticking to vodka-sodas and making time to exercise one weekend day (I like a relaxing yoga session or bike ride as opposed to my weekday Jillian torture fest) helps out a LOT. Split those desserts, get the salad with the dressing on the side, walk to the…

Hi brides to be! I'm getting married Aug 30... I'm trying to be realistic... my weight loss is ssssllllooooooowwww, like 2lbs/month, but at least it's in the right direction. I'm down almost 18lbs since I started last Aug (haven't updated my ticker as it is that TOM). I would love to be 150lbs at the wedding but I would be…

wow you look awesome! ;) love that you decided to eat what you want, only less. that's the way to do it, to be sustainable, imo. great job, and thanks for the motivation!

Thanks!

Right. So I did the skin fold caliper thing and it told me I had 38% BF. How does this factor in?
-
Wow, we totally started out with the same body shape. I'm almost halfway there. Adding you as a friend.

Thanks for posting this. It's discouraging to lose slowly, esp. when you compare your rate with others', but you know what's more discouraging? Not losing at all. Most discouraging? Gaining. I started in July 2013 with the hope of losing 50lbs by July 2014. It's been 7 months and I've only lost 15lbs. I think about why…

I forgot to say though, I liked his sugar-substitute advice. Now I use stevia & applesauce instead of Splenda/sugar.

I read it and tried some of the recipes in the cookbook version. If you're not sensitive to gluten, it won't really matter. That being said, when I cut out wheat, I noticed reduced cravings for sugar and carbs. I also had more energy during the day. THAT being said, it's expensive/difficult to eat that way. I went through…

So I've just moved to level 2 of 30DS and my appetite is off the charts. I'm doing TDEE - 25% ... so my BMR is like 1650 and my TDEE is around 2300 so I've set my goals to 1700/day (have a little wiggle room in case I under measure things like olive oil which I cook a lot with). Looking at my diary I'm eating average like…

I'm at 200 and my goal weight is... whatever weight it has to be for my tits to stick out further than my gut. I'd like to be less than 38% body fat, which I'm currently at. I'm aiming for 150.

I asked this same question here. Some people had some good advice :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1039778-drunk-snacking

Fabulous advice, thank you!

Awesome, thank you :flowerforyou:

Interesting... thanks!

No, that's me. Recipes I make a lot, so actually those are the ones I'm most confident about, calorie & portion-wise

This makes sense to me. Thanks, I will try!

Been wondering about this (the "bad" foods). I thought it really didn't matter what you ate, as long as your calories were at a certain level, you would lose. I understand that some foods are more "optimal", but just because I ate half a Kit Kat last night, do you think I am blowing my chances at weight loss? Also, my iced…

I have (well, had--lost it this weekend) a FitBit One. I basically timed my rides and then input the start time in MFP.

Thanks for your feedback everyone! For those who asked: TDEE = 2371, BMR = 1479. I weigh myself Wednesday mornings after I pee. I live in SF (lots of hills to bike over), so I don't *think* I'm overestimating my calories for exercising. MFP says 20 min on a bike at 10-12mph is 191 calories. I also don't count the 20 min I…

damn! your pics are making me feel a little gay ;) great job!

Awesome, thanks for the info :) Is your wife on here?

Agree with most of the people who save calories for nighttime. Generally I save about 400-500 cals for AFTER dinner. I find it a lot easier to "stay good" while at work, so a light breakfast, light lunch and snack (maybe about 800 cals) and then 1050 for dinner and second mini dinner! LOL... I love air-popped popcorn with…
