deep thoughts about the lifestyle change
i've been on mfp for about 16 months and have lost about 24 lbs. i had these big plans to lose like 50lbs in 12 months but of course that didn't happen. sometimes months will go by and i will not lose a single pound, even though i workout m-f (combo weightlifting and cardio), take long walks, eat clean like 80% of the…

20-30 min bodyweight video guides (free)?
Hey guys! For the past few months I've been getting up early and doing JM 30DS before work and now I'm addicted to the routine. However, I'd like some new options. I'm interested in circuit-training/bodyweight workouts that last from 20-30 min that are free and online. I've found a lot of static illustrated or photographed…

MFP wants me to eat below my BMR
The BMR calc on MFP tells me that my BMR (female, 31, 5'5", 198) is 1,617 cal/day. Yet in order for me to lose 1lb/week, MFP suggests I eat 1,500 cal/day. Isn't this dangerous? I work a sedentary job but I also do circuit training 4x/week. I've read that you shouldn't eat below your BMR, so I'm just wondering... thanks.

BMR for 5'5" 200lbs 30y/o?
Wondering about calculating my BMR. The entire time I've been on MFP I've following the TDEE - 20% method, based on my initial weight (214lbs) and I got down to 200lbs eating roughly 1700 cal/day. Sometimes I eat under, sometimes I'm over, but that's about average. I suppose I should recalculate? Activity level: my FitBit…

Drunk snacking?
Wondering if anyone here has any advice for something sane to eat when I come home after a night of drinking and all I want is a burrito and a piece of cake. This is my "trouble zone" and I need help trying to figure out something healthy and satisfying to eat when I'm drunk and craving salt, fat, and sugar. I need to be…

exercise cals, HR monitors, fitbit, bodyfat, oh my!
I have a few questions. I'm following the TDEE - 20% method to lose weight. I calculated my TDEE from various websites (I put "lightly active" as I bike about 40 min 4x/wk and play tennis on the weekends) and used an average from my FitBit (consistently gives me around 2100 cals/day). So, I'm eating 1600 cals/day to be on…

Frustrated... my own fault?
Hey gang. I started in July at 214lbs. I'm 5'5" and 30 years old. At first I was eating 1900 cal because MFP told me my TDEE was around 2400 and I was aiming for 1lb loss a week. That worked pretty well until about a month in when I stalled around 208. I decreased my calorie intake to 1700 and got a FitBit. The FitBit told…

Varied caloric intake ok?
My TDEE is about 2200 cal so I set my goal around 1700. Some days (like today) I wasn't hungry and I ate only around 1000 cal (and biked to and from work, around 300 cals burned). So MFP is telling me I have about 1000 cals left to eat today. Other days I go over 1700 and maybe eat as much as 2500. Should I be trying to…

Eating... anything?
I've gained about 30lbs in the last 5 years and I'm not sure how. I think mostly stress? In Jan 2013 at 206lbs, my doctor told me I had high cholesterol and was pre-diabetic. I decided I needed a change. I read a lot about insulin resistance and decided to cut wheat and sugar out of my diet (I'd say I made about a 75%…

Howdy! Scared and excited.
I am frustrated and depressed. I'm only 5'5", but I've been between 200 and 215lbs for the last 5 years. For some reason I can't get below 200. I came close, once. Since Jan 2013, I've been eating limited amounts of sugar and wheat. I eat processed foods maybe once a month. I drink water mostly, and wine and bourbon on the…
