I'll say this, when I look in the mirror at my excess weight; I see a guy who uses food to cope with other issues. I transfer that thinking to other people. The heavier the person is; the more I think they use food as a coping mechanism for something else. The heavier the person, the bigger the issues. I'm not proud of…

What choice do you have? If my wife left me I would keep on living life.

If it were me I would be shooting to go from 178 to 160ish.

The basic fitbit is just a basic pedometer that counts steps taken. So it's gonna be for walking/jogging/running.

My motivation isn't weigh loss. Weight loss is a tool to achieve my real goals. My motivation is my son. If I die at my dad's age of 62 (his dad died at 64), I'll barely live to see my son turn 30. Not acceptable. I want to see him grow into old age himself. This is the gold medal. Every time he jumps into my arms to give…

I'm no expert. But the best way to avoid loose skin is to lose weight at a sensible pace. 1 pound a week seems to be a universally accepted rate of healthy weight loss.

Love my fitbit. No wondering how my walking translates to calories burned. Works with MFP. Has been key in helping me understand how nightly walks allow me to eat like a human and still lose weight.

Mangos, Peaches. Fruit in general just feels like a good way to start the day

A pedometer (like the fitbit) is a great way of of converting lots of walking into calories. It's not the amount of time you walk. It's the number of steps within that amount of time. But I think the estimate of 100 calories burned for every mile walked is a good estimate.

the other thing to remember is that the body is efficient. Whatever routine you get into, your body is going to adjust to. Some people report being able to break through by doing a week at maintenance and then going back into their deficit routine. Other people simply have to work more and eat less. The other thing is that…

not to mention the whole copy meal to today function. I know I'm a creature of habit and use the heck out of the copy meal to today. It's fitness and weight loss. The sad truth is there's gonna be far more excuses than there are people hunkering down and getting the work done.

so in a typical day, you burn about 2275 calories. for the sake of easy numbers, let's assume you net about 1700 calories a day through eating and exercise. 2275-1700=575 calories 575 x 7 day = 4025 per week So that's over a pound of fat you could be losing every week.

yeah, ignore unless you have reason to be concerned: Diarrhea Nausea Vomiting Heartburn Abdominal bloating and cramps Headache Insomnia Kidney stones

1661 to 1690 sound really good for your stats. Now find an online TDEE calculator to estimate how many calories you actually burn in a day and you'll have a rough estimate of how fast you could potentially lose weight. http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators/tdee-calculator.html hint: 3500 calories=1 pound of fat.
