tons of great smart phone apps with built in weight training routines for beginners. P90X seems like a quick fix. The people I know who do it. Have to keep going back to it. For me that's just not sustainable.

9 pounds aint nothin. Way to go!
-
Y'all can do it! Just take it one day at a time!

Once you see how your food intake numbers interact with your exercise numbers for a week or two, everything will start coming into focus. I felt like at around week three, I had a pretty good understanding of how my daily walks affected my calorie goals.

advice: 1. Learn to love water 2. learn to love salad 3. learn to love chicken and turkey 4. get a pedometer and don't go to bed until you've walked your 10,000 steps 5. Lift something heavy several times every few days I'm currently 175 on my way to 140.

Kiwi - 50 calories yellow mango - 100 calories small granola bars - 100 calories small bag of pretzels - 100 calories. Peaches - 60 calories one Oreo double stuff - 70 calories ;)

+1 I generally try not to eat close to bedtime. That's just me and my own weight loss superstitions. But studies seem to indicate that it's not as important what you do hour by hour or day by day. What's important is your consistency over time.

Don't get the blackberry. Their business has been in steady decline. I doubt they are even around in 2015. iphone is great. Lots of great android phones out there too.

Awesome!

Here's the thing, not getting enough calories is just as bad as over eating. Your body thinks it's starving and tries desperately to hold on to every calorie it can. Google the term BMR calculator. That's roughly the amount of calories you want to take in on a daily basis,

1. you look great. 2. Look at all the art from the height of the roman empire. All those naked ladies were... well endowed.
-
I think it's the whole. it was good enough for my parents, and it was good enough for me growing up thing. Well guess what, times change and our understanding of nutrition has gotten better. Funny how the people closest to you can be the most toxic

You look great and you look happy! Well done.

Maybe tell your husband to stop acting like turd and be thankful for the smoking hot wife he has.
-
Sounds like your hubby is really focusing on the cost of specialty foods and gym memberships. Maybe try to find a cheaper gym or ymca?
-
I agree, log everything until your fingers fall off.
-
You're doing great! As long as you're within your calorie goals, eat what you like.

+1 From an evolutionary point of view. The human body is "wired" to hold onto calories for the proverbial "long, cold, hungry winter" where food isn't plentiful and we had not yet evolved into expert hunters. Your friend has perverted this idea into "Our bodies hold onto weight in the winter". We are not bears. We do not…

Welcome back! You can do this!

Pineapple. Love it. There are just certain fruits that really embody summer. Pineapple, mango, Kiwi. nice!
-
Start over every day actually sounds like one of the better plans I've heard around here.
-
Because MFP is REALLY Bad at making recommendations. Go with the BMR you know to be right. It's a brilliant tool to keep track of calories, foods and recipes. But that's about it.
-
+1 this seems to be a trend among girls anymore.
-
You should be eating somewhere in the zone where: the calories you eat - the calories you exercise off = 1500 ish
-
welcome! you can do this!
-
BMR is the amount of calories you burn if you sit around all day and do nothing. What's your height, weight and age?
-
Figure out your BMR. Make that your max amount of calories every day. Get a pedometer and don't go to bed until you've walked 10,000 steps Learn to love water Learn to love salad Learn to love chicken and turkey

Write down your goals and post them somewhere you can see. Not weight loss goals. Life goals. Who cares about losing 10, 20, 30 or 40 pounds. My dad died at 64, his dad died at 62. i want to live longer than that. I want to see my son beyond his 30th birthday. Losing weight is too abstract. Why do you really want to do…

So if you sat around and did nothing you would burn about 1500-1600 calories a day. So if you're eating 1600, then you're right in the zone with food. The easy thing to try is maybe to try to consistently be around 1500 calories a day. Any chance of upping the walk from 20 to 30 minutes? 5 minute walk 2 minute jog, rinse,…

Welcome Paul. I started July 1. You can do it!
