I put my weight and exercise in that calculator and it says I burned 800 calories for 45 minutes on the elliptical. That's more than MFP says, I wonder if that's accurate?
-
What if your HRM says you burned TWICE as much as the machines and MFP?
-
Bump! I'd like to know too

I think I answered my own question  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cORDpvpSLM&feature=related

Wow you look really good! We're pretty similar in that I started at 244 and now I'm 209 (I'm also 5'2) but you look so much more fit than I do. I have a spare tire around my tummy that I don't think I'll ever lose. I would LOVE to be able to wear a belt (and have it show :ohwell: ) You're my inspiration!

:ohwell:

Well I don't know for sure but it tells me I burn 1300 calories in a hour of cardio and every other website (MFP and FitDay) tell me it's about half that. So I guess I really don't know for sure but I read some reviews of the Timex HRM and there were a lot of complaints about it over estimating calories.
-
I have a Timex HRM and it over estimates calories by about twice as much. :grumble:

Great job!

Congrats on making it to ONEderland!

Check out the Lord's Table at http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/. It's a Christan based eating plan. It worked great while I was able to stick with it.

I would trust what your body is telling you. We're not children any more and don't have to 'clean our plates'. Listen to your body, feed it when it's hungry and stop when you're satisfied.

I just made these but used butter because I didn't have coffee creamer on hand. But they are YUMMY! What is the secret to not eating them ALL???
-
I have this one and the calories burned isn't really accurate but the heart rate seems to be.
-
Mine isn't noticeable at all. I just tuck it under my sports bra and forget it's there!

I think OxyElite is on a different level than other 'diet pills' like Dexatrim, Metabolife, etc. OxyElite is just an aid for those who already have the right mindset of eating right and exercising and just want a little boost. I don't see any harm in it.

Oh ok I see you have the same HRM as I do. And I see that most people are saying trust the HRM. I would love to but it says I burned 1300 calories for an hour of the shred, elliptical and stationery bike. Not sure I can trust it or not but it sure would be nice to know I'm burning that much!
-
I don't know what HRM you have but mine says about twice as many calories as MFP says. So I usually just split the difference.
-
I'm glad you posted this, my husband got a sample of it at GNC the other day and I was wondering if it was something I might want to try too. Sounds like you had good results (except for your 'off' time) so I think I might give it a go!

SMOKIN'! I'm just amazed at how much YOUNGER everyone looks in their after photo!

Nope! One time he guessed 175. HA, such a sweetie
-
I have a Timex t5g981 with chest strap, calories not accurate but HR seems to be spot on.
-
I have a Timex HRM also and it said I burned 1300 calories for a hour of 30 Day Shred, elliptical and stationery bike. I'm pretty sure that was way high. My heart rate was between 140 and 175. MFP calculated it around 500 calories
-
I think MFP grossly over estimates calories burned, I would say get a HRM but I just got one and it over estimates even more :grumble: Course the Polar's are supposed to be more accurate.
-
I'm on day 18 and have only lost a few pounds but I'm starting to notice some toning going on. It's hard to tell on an overweight girl but I am seeing progress!
-
Are you sure your HRM is accurate? I just bought one and it said I burned 1300 calories in an hour! I know that's not right but at least I know if I'm in the fat burning zone or not.
-
Yes it did
