  • I work with some people who practice intermittent fasting and have done really well with it. One person got to there goal and now fasts one day a week to maintain. I tried it and I didn't get on with it. I felt very unwell on fasting days and being hungry kept me awake at night. I rather count calories. I read the 5:2 diet…
  • I recently had this problem too. I set my sensitivity setings on my charge HR to normal and dominant wrist even though I ware my fitbit on my non dominant wrist . (I was getting more steps than I should.) It sorted my inflated calorie burns. Even some days now it seems a bit high. I don't eat back all of my fitbit…
  • Thanks for your help guy's. My problem is now resolved. Changing the settings to dominant sorted my inflated step count. The HR feature on my charge was giving me more calories than my flex. :-)
  • I log my breakfast and lunch the night before. I log my dinner as im cooking it. I log snacks as and when I want them provided I have the calories for it.
  • Thanks guys. I have changed my charge wrist settings to dominant rather than non dominant. Hopefully that will help. I will try turning the HR off etc... and have a play around with it. I fenced after work today and my fitbit report was about right. My calorie count for work just seems to be a bit off. Maybe I move more…
  • Okay, I had my charge in my pocket when at work and put it on to go home. My step count is about right now. However my calorie adjustment was almost as large as yesterday. Is that because the charge HR takes HR into consideration when working out calorie burn for the day? Sorry if this comes over as a stupid question. Im…
  • Yes my charge fits snugger than my flex. The strap is a bit smaller and I have it done up a bit tighter for my HR. So far today I am getting inflated steps. So I did an experiment. I walked 100 steps and checked my charge and it counted the same as I had counted. Then put the fitbit in my pocket and did the same and had…
  • Im 5"1 and I lose on 1500 + exercise calories. But I don't always eat all of my exercise calories, sometimes half. It depends on how hungry I am.
  • Thanks for your reply. My charge says I walked an extra mile than I would normally do at work. I will see if this happens again tomorrow or weather it was a one off occurrence. I checked my fit bit account. My stride length is set the same as my flex. There is one thing I just thought of wich might explain my higher fitbit…
  • Hello, welcome back to myfitnesspal. I'm from Worcestershire too. Good luck, hope you achieve your goals.
  • https://www.fitbit.com/user/2T6MRL Please add me. :)
  • You sound burned out. :-( Maby try sticking to maintenence calories for a while. Then try a larger difficult when you feel mentality ready. Sometimes I struggle with this. I have to mentality in the mindset to loose other wise I really can't be bothered, especially when life gets on top of me.
  • I think that's a bit high. I recommend using a heart rate monitor for calculating calorie burns. I only got a cheap one but it really opend my eyes to how many calories I was really burning. MFP often overestimates.
  • 1200 calories is very low. Personally I don't think 1200 is very sustainable. When I first joined myfitnesspal I ate 1300 net and some days I really struggled. I upped my calories and Im much happier and I am still losing.
  • Well done, I hope you achieve your heath and fitness goals with my fitness pal. I have tried many different diets but I have been most successful with myfitnesspal. I'm only 4lbs away from my target weight now.
  • Oh I can sympathise. I could have written that post my self. Keep your chin up. It will get better. I also had a nasty virus with post viral fatigue and work has been stressful. My personal life has been stressful coz im trying to organise a wedding among other things. Its a effort just to get to work and do my job. My job…
  • I had noro virus quite recently. I did not count calories during the week I was ill. I just focused on getting better. I still lost 5lbs but most of that was probably water weight loss. I suppose it depends on if you continue to vomit during the day or weather it was a on off thing. :-)

  • My weight fluctuates a lot so I went from weighing myself twice a week to once every three weeks or sometimes four. I go by how I feel these days and how my clothes fit, I should probably take measurements but I don’t. When I weighed more frequently I used to get frustrated when I gained in a week eating at a calorie…
  • Well done :)
  • Yeah I agree with the above posts, sedentary. :)
  • Wow, well done guys :) You all look great.
  • It depends on how hard you worked I suppose. I wear a heart rate monitor when ever I do cardio in the gym to calculate calories burned. I don’t think the calorie counters on gym equipment is very accurate. In half an hour I can usually burn 250 – 300 calories depending on how hard I push my self.
  • Opps. Sorry that was a typo, i'm 5'1 which is 154 cm :s Thanks for the advice guys, I think i will try to maintain for a while.
  • My diet shouldn’t effect what he eats. I tell him he can have what he wants to eat. I don’t understand what his problem is. We eat the same evening meals during the week but I just have smaller portions. If we are at home on a Saturday night I encourage him to get a take away for him self if he wants it or to have what…
  • I work with someone who eats raw fruit and vegetables and he has lost a lot of weight and he says he feels great. The only time he doesn’t eat raw is when he is on holiday or eating a meal out. He his currently writing a book about his experience eating raw.
