Canadian Thanksgiving has passed already, but I ate in moderation. We spent the holiday at the cottage in the Muskokas with only a BBQ and a propane stove and fridge so we didn't go all out anyway.

I eat them on occasion. I really only like the the first or second day after I buy them when they're slightly green still.. once they start to ripen, I don't like them.

The GM diet, as in cabbage soup out your yin-yang? Girl give that crap up and just eat healthy :smile: Fad diets aren't going to help you with any longterm goals. How badly is the disc slipped and which disc is it? Are you still in pain and have you had PT for it?

I've used this recipe as a base (it's from scratch but super simple!), cut down on the vanilla, replaced the sugar with stevia and the butter with unsweetened applesauce, added fresh lemon juice and some lemon zest they turned out absolutely delicious! http://www.howsweeteats.com/2011/03/one-bowl-vanilla-cupcakes-for-two/

She's been eating this way prior to becoming pregnant, it's not a new thing for her body to adjust to while growing a fetus. I see nothing wrong with it at all. Now if it was something new she was doing just because she was pregnant, that would be concerning, but it's not.

1 kg/2.2 lbs is an unrealistically high goal especially for someone who doesn't have a lot to lose. You'll be more successful setting a smaller goal.
