  • 5'2" SW: 140 CW: 137 GW: maybe 125. When I feel comfortable. More in for the lifestyle change, really. No exercise (fibro/cfs) though I am trying to incorporate a weekly yoga class. I'm eating roughly 1300 a day, though I binge quite frequently.
  • Generally speaking, it's a response to high-stress or a fibromyalgia flare. Last night I hit my elbow in the shower, which sent me into flare-city, so I ended up eating a huge stack of pancakes after dinner. I don't feel particularly happy about it, but I just roll with it.
  • Best way to make super creamy hummus without a ton of oil (well, not AS much) is with a crockpot. I love mine.
  • Ironically, it's also international cat day. I'll be sure my boyfriend makes an effort to give my cat some love tonight.
  • Pottermore and I agree - Total Ravenclaw. My boyfriend would be a jocky Gryffindor or a Slytherin, I think.
  • Some of these were absolutely HILARIOUS. I know I log weird food items sometimes, but damn, this list takes the cake. This does make me glad my diary isn't open though, because I do log things like housework, cooking etc. I am generally couch or bed bound, so anything other than just plain sitting is exercise for me. Still…
  • My partner lost a ridiculous amount of weight...while in culinary school. I'm a ridiculous foodie as well (didn't have the dosh for said culinary school) and we both see it as a challenge and a necessity.
  • 112g of basmati rice 150g edamame 117g of oven roasted broccoli, tossed in 1.5 tsp of sesame oil 1 tbs rice vinegar 2 tbs soy sauce =447 cals (bonus that I couldn't finish it, and will therefore have free calories later/tomorrow).
  • I'm 5'2", 24 and about 140 pounds. I don't really have a set goal weight, but I'm looking to lose 10, probably 20 pounds. I was initially going to go to 115, until I saw my sister (same build, one inch taller) at 112. She looked nearly sickly! I think I'm going to aim for 125 and see how I feel. I think that's always the…
  • There are a few threads about which macros people are tracking and, generally speaking, they seem to be all over the map. I think it's fair to say, however, that just about everyone tracks protein and carbs (correct me if I'm wrong!). Protein is goooooood. I'm vegan and use the iron and calcium macros to make sure I'm…
  • The key to getting the unstarred USDA entries close to the top is to somehow remember which ones are plural and which ones aren't. Carrots = yes Sugars = yes Sweet potatoes = no Sweet potato = yes It's not like it's complicated or anything. ... ...*tears out hair*
  • I'd be happy if we could just filter the entries to remove all the non-USDA ones that MFP provides. I only use those, basically and it'd be much easier than scrolling slowly and trying to see a missing star.
  • Been there, done that. Peronally, I couldn't make it work because it triggered some other health problems I had going on (and we were betting on it happning that way). Take these first few days and just relax as much as possible. Try to cut back your exercise to light walks and drink a ridiculous amount of water. Take…
  • Saving this!
  • This. I had a huge problem with this when I was lifting. My knees would keel inwards. I found that I need to squat really, really wide for me to feel balanced and to get a better posture. I've found that a lot of men can squat more narrow, maybe because of their hips? Maybe that's just the lifters I know.
  • Heh. This is exactly what I do when I need just a few grams more of fat with about 100 calories at the end of the night. Perfect bedtime snack.
  • It's not silly. I think we've all been there (or most of us, at least). I find that I often sit there and tinker until I can get it really, really close before realizing that going over my macros isn't going to kill my progress in one day. Not even in a week of days. When my boyfriend caught me fussing about my carbs,…
  • Wow. I'm 12.5% smaller than I think and am a classic pear shape. Neat.
  • I originally bought some to cook with. It's not the expensive unrefined raw stuff, though I will consider that when this tub is done. I never actually got around to cooking with it! I started using it as a body lotion and hair remedy, so I moved the whole jar to the bathroom. It stays liquid and I just dip my fingers in,…
  • This is closer to what I do. I aim to go over my 20% protein. Still having a hard time, but I'll figure it out.
  • Mine are 55c/20p/25f. I wanted to do an even 25/25 split, but I'm a non-tofu, non-tempeh eating vegan. It's really, really hard to balance my carbs when a majority of my protein is lentils. Verrrrry carby.
  • I have a small apartment and not much counter space, so my counter is generally a little chaotic, but it's something I'm getting better at. Turning around to look, I have: A bottle of oil, my kitchen scale, a broken (and admittedly greasy) spoon rest, a mortar and pestle, a small jar with brown sugar, a dirty oven mitt, my…
  • My partner and I lead very opposing lives and have completely opposite diets, generally speaking. Dedicated carnivore vs vegan, construction worker lifting heavy stuff all day vs stuck at home due to illness. I understand your issue! We do all of our shopping on Saturdays and generally one of us will do about an hour of…
  • Because I can't exercise (and likely will not be able to), I plan on keeping a semblance of counting for a long, long time. If I got to a point where I was satisfied enough to go into maintenance, I'd count at maintenance for probably 6+ months. I have no will power, and while counting doesn't stop me from binging most of…
  • I can't afford to buy another protein powder though, I need to find a way to use the French vanilla flavour as it is now. I did blend it quite thoroughly, not just whisking it.
  • Bumping this to ask if anyone has any ideas on how to make their French vanilla tolerable? I need to use it (can't afford to buy another tub of something until this runs out) and I'm finding it really, really, unpalatable. This morning I tried one scoop of protein into one cup of soymilk and two tablespoons of peanut…
  • Do you have any intolerances/allergies? Sometimes it's hard to avoid them all. I'm intolerant to sugar. I'm not just talking white sugar, but anything with any type of sugar in it. That means no fruit, whatsoever. I am also allergic to kiwis, pineapple, mangos, papayas, guavas, etc. I can do okay with apples and bananas,…
  • Over eight years. For the animals, for my wellness, for cheaper food, etc. Animals primarily. At first I lost about 10 pounds without doing anything. Since I've been vegan for so long, I haven't had vegan-related weightloss for a while. Most people give me the standard "where do you get your protein/iron/calcium/other…
  • That link is amazing. I think I love you.
