  • I saw one that said something like hunger hurts but starving works. It's really sad that someone would actually think like that. :frown:
  • Single, and I've never been married. I dated a guy that thought we were engaged even though I had never agreed to marry him. He turned out to be a control freak. When I finally broke up with him, he stalked and harassed me. He actually wrote a 6 page e-mail saying that breaking up with him was not following the will of…
  • Now I feel left out. I have yet to befriend any of these freaks or pervs.
  • I can definitely see a difference. Good job! As for you coworker's reaction, it's really hard to say. Your success so far may have been a negative reminder of where she thinks she has failed. She also may have thought you were bragging or fishing for compliments. It's hard to say, but don't let it get you down. The simple…
  • You're are doing something to improve yourself and she is not. The sad truth is that they are jerks in this world who love to say mean things just to hurt you. It does hurt at first, but you can turn into motivation easily. I was teaching 5th grade when I gave my students a writing prompt that dealt with winning a pet…
  • I walked into class one day (I was a teacher) and found that one of my coworkers had laid a bottle of some weight loss pill on my desk. I was a little insulted to be honest. You see, I'm in kidney failure and most of those pills could literally kill me. I only can speak for myself, but I would never use any weight loss…
  • Great job! You look wonderful! I'm almost there myself. I started out at 239 (235lbs when I joined MFP) and right now I'm at 201. I'll be in onderland soon!
  • That's wonderful! It's an amazing feeling the first time somone notices.
  • 1. I'm scared of The Incredible Hulk. (Long story for that one.) 2. I'm flat footed as a duck. 3. I can't write down phone numbers. I can say them out loud, but I'll write the numbers out of order. 4. My favorite book is "Jane Eyre." I've actually read two copies to the point the books fell apart. 5. I own everything…
  • I've been using Leslie Sansone's Four Fast Miles, and it's been working well for me.
  • My first name, Lucy, isn't all that common anymore. It's not precisely uncommon, but it's just really old. My middle name is even older. I was named after my grandmothers. My last name is far more common as a first name than a last name. I hate my MFP name and one day I'll get around to changing it.
  • I was never really the type of person who attracted a lot of attention, and I truly haven't noticed any more lately. Of course, I still have a long way to go.
  • Wow! You look wonderful and you are such an inspiration!
  • When someone offers unsolicited advice, I just smile and nod. I've had it a lot lately since it's become noticeable I've lost weight. First thing people ask is, "Are you losing weight on purpose?" When I say that I am, most want to launch into some advice that I didn't ask for - nor do I need. As for eggs - an egg is not…
  • Thanks so much everyone. I've been waiting for a kidney for three years, and it's just so exciting to think that it actually may happen soon.
  • I understand what you mean. I had an aunt tell me that I looked great and that she could tell I've lost a bunch of weight recently. I said, "Thanks, but I still have a long way to go?" Why couldn't I have just stopped at 'thanks?' I've always had a problem with compliments. I always think the person is trying to be nice…
  • Bruce Campbell. That's about it for me. I'm a little envious of some of you here.
  • I woke up this morning and I wasn't feeling all that well. Despite how I felt, I got up and went for a nice run. By the end, I felt so much better. Not that long ago, I would have just stayed in bed.
  • I have to get my flu shot each year. I have an autoimmune disease and I'm in end stage renal failure. I really have to be careful. When the H1N1 was really rampent some years ago, I was working as a teacher. I wasn't in renal failure at that time. We were supposed to get our flu shots at school, but they ran out before…
  • It is annoying. I usually will try one size only to find that I need to go up or down. I wish I could just go in to the store, find one size that I know will fit and not have all the hassle. I'm going to do a little shopping today because I need smaller clothes now, but there is still some trepidation because finding…
  • I make my own pizza and I'm planning on making one tonight actually. I usually go with turkey pepperoni and then I load on veggies with onions, green peppers, banana peppers. My crust is basically like most people have said - flour, warm water, yeast but I like to put a little parmesan and minced garlic for extra flavor.…
  • What I track is a little odd, and one of the things I can't even use MFP to track. I keep an eye on phosphorous, potassium, protein, and sodium. I'm on dialysis and I have to follow a renal diet. That means low phosphorous, low potassium, low sodium, and high protein. The phosphorous is the hardest for me because it's been…
  • I've worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart and IGA, and some of the customers are the worst. I had a guy call me every name under the sun because I asked to see his I.D. when he gave me a check. The worst customer was one I had at Wal-Mart. I was working on of the express lanes, and I had this little counter rather than a belt.…
  • My worst job was being a bill collector. You had to keep calling the same people over and over, and none were happy to hear from you. Some people could pay, but refused to do so, and other were unable to pay. There was a hospital that was our biggest client. People with insurance would go to the hospital, but the insurance…
  • I found some old clothes in the back of my closet that I haven't been able to wear in years - and one outfit that I had never been able to wear. I tried them on and discovered that they now fit. I was so happy.
  • I still eat carbs, and I'm doing fine. I don't go crazy or anything eating every carb, and I did switch to wheat bread, but I'm not giving anything up completely. I upped my proteins because I'm on a high protein diet due to health issues, but I have no reason to go completely low carb.
  • Bump in the Night
  • I used to teach 5th grade. One thing I tried to teach was that words can hurt and we should be careful as to what we say. I had a particularly hard time with that word, especially when I learned another teacher used it with abandon - in a class with special needs students!
