Well, I'm sitting here right now with a broken little toe on my right foot because I closed the car door on it. I was sitting in the car and just proceeded to close the door without moving my foot first. Oddly enough, it's not my first encounter with a car door. Years ago I slammed my thumb up in a car door that actually…

Thank you. I am very thankful for the kidney and I want to do all I can to preserve it. It took me over 3 years on the list to get it. My dosage of prednisone was lowered the last time I went to clinic because I had a reaction to it in the past. I took it years ago for bells palsy and it caused bloody blisters on my…

I weigh myself once a day but only because I have to because I have to record my daily weight for medical reasons. It really depends on the person, but I really prefer once a week. When I was trying this before, I became addicted to the scales and would moan over ever little fluctuation. I finally moved my scales into a…

Just five more pounds to go. I'm really hoping I'll see it soon.

I'm 36 and from eastern Kentucky. I live in Menifee County right now, but I'm from Pike County originally.

I usually don't wait to start something, but different things work for different people. I actually do have a resolution this year - and that's to keep doing what I've been doing and move closer to my goal.

I have to be extremely careful of sodium because I'm in end stage renal failure. Mostly, I try to eat fresh foods and don't add extra salt. However, not everyone has to be as careful as me.

I already have my Thanksgiving planned out. I know what we were having for dinner, so I worked on portions of my favorites. I worked out the turkey, a bite of dressing (it has the most calories), green beans, and a deviled egg - with a small slice of pumpkin pie for dessert. It fit within my calories and it will be…

First, I plan to keep losing weight. I'm hoping to hit my goal weight at some point next year. I want to join my friend in cosplay and I have one marathon I plan on entering.

I agree. I already have my Thanksgiving dinner planned and even logged (tentatively). I'm going to have a delicous meal and even allowing myself a small slice of pumpkin pie - and I'm going to keep it within my calorie goals.

Wow! Just wow! You look great! One day I hope I can post the same thing. Thank you for being an inspiration.

This may sound ricidulous, but this is one story that sticks in my mind. I was teaching 5th grade and the students were working with writing prompts. I had a whole box of prompts that we used at random, and one day the prompt was to write a short story about winning a baby hippo named Tiny. One student asked if she could…

You are a success and an inspiration. You look great!

First off, you need to really take the time to realize how well you've already done. Now, avoid the scales for a bit. Sometimes those numbers will drive you crazy.
-
You look wonderful! Great job!

Mine seems to around 1500-1600, but I have a lot of other health issues.

Amazing story! You are an inspiration!

I went in to this new lifestyle knowing that saggy skin was likely. I was quite overweight and I'm not exactly a spring chicken. I'm losing weight to be healthier, and I had to lose in order to qualify for a kidney transplant. To me, that was far more important than appearance. Physical looks are fleeting anyway. I…

I eat carbs. In fact, I rather like carbs and sugar. I just watch my calories and make sure to exercise. So far, I've lost 40lbs in 4 months.

I'm going to my mother's for Thanksgiving, and she always makes a homemade pumpkin pie from scratch.

1. I am a contortionist. (Yes, really.) 2. I have an irrational fear of The Incredible Hulk. 3. I'm working on a novel.

I don't think the issue here is about showing concern. The pictures and the judgemental tone was what created an issue for me. Like I said previously, I have seen some poor snack choices. I had a student bring a cup of cake frosting for snack. However, the method that was employed by myself and my school was to teach about…

I was an elementary teacher. I have seen some bad snacks and lunches sent to school, but I would have never dreamed taking pictures to post for others to see. What my school did was to take the time to teach the children about better food choices. One day, when they were going to eat snacks, we made fruit pizzas.…

I'm in the same exact boat actually. I think that's one reason I became an elementary teacher. Since I can't be a mother, at least I can work with children and hopefully help them in the future.

I saw this one on another site just the other day.

Hello all! My name is Lucy. I'm 36 and from KY. I'm not exactly new to MFP, but I am new to this group. Feel free to add me because I love friends. :)

For the longest time I would have argued this very point. I would have said, "But I don't eat much," and bring up the fact that people who eat more than me weigh less. The truth was I didn't think I ate that much. Because of stress, I didn't eat more than one small meal a day. However, I was a snacker. I even referred to…

The only thing I really gave up is soda. I didn't have to give up alcohol because I've never drank.

I actually did the same thing. I started out at 235 and I had never been able to get below 215lbs. I worked out, ate well, and the weight started to drop. One morning I hit 214 and I was so happy. I kept working and just couldn't wait to see how much more I lost. I weighed in next week - and I was 217. I was like you. I…

I'd like to lose 6lbs, which would put me at 190 and my lowest weight in a long time. It would also put me on track to my goal of 185 by New Year's. I also want to work up the courage to post my progress pictures. I can tell a difference, but I'm still so critical about my appearance that I haven't been able to post any…
