And living off 800 calories a day had NOTHING to do with WHY she was underweight? It was clearly NOT a healthy weight for her. I'm not saying it's *impossible* to be that height and that weight and be healthy, but clearly she was not. I'm also 5'8" and no amount of "eating proper nutrition" would make 116lbs a healthy…

Yup, no causal connection whatsoever between those two issues. None at all. And at 5'8" 116lbs IS underweight.

OP does not want advice. OP wants validation and/or attention.

You're also seeing the face from two different sides, so the angles are changed. And her face is very small in the first one. I can't be 100% certain either, but it's a close enough resemblance that combined with the writing styles, I'm willing to call it close enough and say it's time to pull this thread before she gets…

How long would it take to atrophy an arm to that point, because I doubt it happens very quickly. So yea, I could see it being the same person given the time it would take and the effects of such an extreme loss in LBM.

Or she intentionally used the older pic where she was at a healthy weight so that no one would balk at giving her weight loss advice. Because people refused to give her weight loss advice with her current pic.

My husband and I both just about died laughing the first time we saw this commercial. The truth may be painful, but it's also damn funny.

Honestly, I could tell it was meant to be satirical from the title, that's the only reason I came in here. If I thought the thread was going to be serious I wouldn't have bothered as I have no relevant advice or experience.

The largest room in our home is a dedicated nerd room, complete with toys, collectables, posters and weapons. We have plans to build a dedicated D&D/Warmachine gaming table in the near future. The only reason we DON'T have a Star Wars Christmas Tree is because we have 4 cats.... Your wife sounds like a grinch. I support…

I just came in here to express how THRILLED I am to see a discussion about GMO products that isn't ZOMG if you eat them you'll get cancer and mutate in to a fish and die! I have serious concerns about environmental impact and regulation of GMO crops, but throwing the baby out with the bathwater is taking things too far.

Ummm? and: Looks like you're getting a little confused. Is it past nap time?

No, further study may now be required.....

I have found the super secret food crack, it's called Ande's chocolate mints. I expect to be publishing soon.

Honestly, I'm waffling a bit right now. I have a pretty damn high calorie allowance, but I like eating all the foodz so I'm not sure I want to continue with active weight loss. Yes, I'd like to get rid of some more fat, especially belly but that will likely be the last to go, but no, I don't want to drop my calorie intake,…

I've never even looked at the other thread.

That part in bold, would be 100% ok with accepting that answer and moving on. It's when they keep insisting that "no really, I've read all about this and know it's better, but...." That's when I start eyerolling. HARD.

LOL, so I'm guessing there was a BIG booboo somewhere that has been resolved?

Yes and no. The statistical validity of many field studies for marine species often get poo pooed by scientists in indirectly related fields because of low sample sizes etc. This questioning is perfectly valid. BUT, if you work in that particular field you also understand the limitations in place and that sometimes, it's…

See, this is why I'm confused. The whole point of asking for the links to the studies is so that I CAN read them. And decide for myself if I agree with the conclusions or not. Because as a scientist part of my job is to read scientific publications. Why is it shocking that the people who asked you for the publications are…
-
Books tend towards bias. Which is why peer reviewed journal publications are considered better. And then, yes, those journal publications can and will be critiqued. Because that's how its done in a scientific discussion.
-
Yup. But it just took me to a *page not found*

Which, if you read the instructions, is what the report post feature is for, which DOES NOT poof the comments. ONLY the abuse and spam flags poof comments. And what was posted does not qualify under the guidelines delineated for spam or abuse.

This is an important point. The scientists among us tend to get more and more up in arms as the claims get more and more extreme. You eat organic because you feel better and like how it tastes, go for it. You eat organic because non-organic is full of toxins and will kill us all. Please to defend your statement. *full…

Actually on that note, we need to add a part about when you DO provide links to the study, expect that people will actually read it and possibly critique it, that's why they asked for the study. And if they critique it, listen to why they think there might be a problem with it. You may or may not agree with their critique,…
