  • If it is green I eat it. I add in some cauliflower, baby carrots, onions, and peppers. I have at least 2 cups of a salad, and use others veggies as side dishes, usually around a cup per meal, but sometimes less. So around 3 cups of mixed veggies a day.
  • Raspberries from the garden. An occasional half of an apple from our tree. Lemon, limes, mostly just juice to add to recipes or in water. I will eat organic, in season, strawberries or blueberries and I allow myself a few figs when they are in season. To me avocados are a fat source, not a fruit, but biologically they are,…
  • This is for @sharondtd
  • @DreamOn145, I am doing a happy dance for you over here. I have been away from devices for most of the last week and am just now seeing your post. 82 lbs. is awesome. We all have to find what works for us. Some can do more carbs than others, some can fast and some have to concentrate on primarily animal foods. As long as…
  • I revisited this today and thought I would share it in here. It is on Dr. Eads' blog. He includes his notes on it as well. https://proteinpower.com/drmike/2017/03/11/dr-david-ludwig-high-carb-vs-low-carb-vs-slow-carb-diets/
  • GaleHawkins, glad the wife is coming along. So great you get to return the loving care she had given to you before.
  • Happy July everyone. Be good on the upcoming July 4th holiday. I'm doing rib eye steaks with coleslaw, yummm.
  • Really there are three of us, I love Brazil nuts, but they are not common in the stores around here. I can usually find them over the feasting holidays in late fall/early winter. I love all the nuts, but not peanuts because it isn't even a nut, it is a legume. And I don't eat legumes.
  • Not a fan of peanuts. I love all the other nuts, macs and pecans top my list of nuts.
  • Well, better late than never is one of my mottos. Glad the AIP protocol is working well for you. I love goat cheese and many who can't tolerate cow dairy can also eat sheep cheeses as well. Being below your graduation weight is a good thing. Just keep on keeping on, your weight will continue to go down.
  • My thought was make ghee and add that to the PB. Of course for me that would be almond butter. Can't handle peanuts at all. Ghee would not go rancid easily.
  • I just loved the way that looked with graphic flower colors and so delicate looking. Yea for foodporn :)
  • What a great report DreamOn145. Glad the AIP diet helps you so much. 75 lbs. down is a great result, just keep on keeping on, I am sure you'll get to your goal. And you are enjoying some good health benefits along the way. I need to go back to my QiGong class, I really enjoy that practice. Bad weather is over so I can get…

  • No real sweet tooth, I was using the bars for when I was out and about and didn't have a good eating alternative. I do eat Coconut Chocolate fat bomb, coconut oil, 100% raw cacao powder and a few drops of stevia & pure vanilla extract in those. My husband bakes some keto goodies from time to time, Swerve seems best for…

  • I agree with the more protein. I started out following Atkins, but had to drop their bars/shakes, since the sugar alcohols did me no favors. Once I did that the weight starting coming off better and I was never "hungry". I could eat something but never felt the old hunger cravings. The only time I feel hunger is after an…

  • That article reminds me of a Maya Angelou qoute: "When you learn better, you do better. "
  • Yes, it can be a side effect and not that uncommon. The Kaiser class for new diabetics, they nag you to stop eating low carb if you are on Metformin. No lower than 90 grams PER MEAL is the recommendation. So do be careful that way. Cut back the meds, instead of upping your carbs, since the combo is what is pushing you too…
  • I'm just going to add, you might want to eat your fats in your protein, higher fat ground beef/bison, fat streaked steaks. This will result in you feeling fuller longer. My DH gets reflux if he eats lots of fat, but if he does it this way, he doesn't have the issue. That with timed restricted eating window as suggested…
  • I prefer them as rice. Works with all my Asian dishes along with Mexican ones. I prefer just doing zoodles to the thicker noodles. They are perfect for all the Italian dishes we make.
  • Yes, Ivor's podcasts has transcripts on the web page. I often have to look up the terms they use. So the transcripts really help out with that. I have another podcast to add the Diet Doctor podcast available here: https://www.dietdoctor.com/the-diet-doctor-podcast-is-now-on-itunes-apple-podcasts I haven't heard a bad one…

  • I do lots of IFing but still do brunch with DH, I have two eggs then, but they get used in recipes daily. Keto breads, sauces, salad dressings, and the occasional cheesecake. Between us we go through a carton of 18 and a container of egg whites only. So I'm sure I am still getting at least 3 or more daily. If I had your…
  • Hope everyone is having a nice Mother's Day. It is lovely here on the Front Range, hope others are getting lots of warm sunshine wherever you are.
  • Ditto, I love my freebie Prime cookbooks though. I also using Mastercook for grabbing recipes from all the low carb/Keto recipe sites. I use my older Kindle as a "cookbook" with all those recipes on it. I can also use the freebie cookbooks, so thousands of recipes right by my stovetop.
  • @PaulChasinDreams Can I join you for a meal sometime???? I got so hungry just looking at all your yummy things. Who says this WOE has to be boring? They lie.
  • Google is the reason. Most do not turn tracking off. This article explains how to do it. They are the feeder of most of the ads we see. If the info is connected to a google account, they can target ads to you. https://www.pcmag.com/article/345340/how-to-get-google-to-quit-tracking-you
  • This guy's curries are very popular in the keto community. He also has a keto naan recipe. I haven't tried these because I can find low carb curry simmering sauces at my local grocery. But people rave about his stuff. I use oppie bread with garlic powder added for keto naan personally.…
  • Wanda there can be more multiple editors, perhaps I can make you an editor and some others so someone gets in here daily. I just feel it is important for newbies and returnees, to get welcomed and pointed to the resources this group has to offer in our announcements. Thanks for the kind words. Others on here helped me keep…
  • Some of you may have noticed I lost my logging streak a few days ago. I find I just don't have enough time to keep up around here and on another website that I am very active on, so my streaks will be shorter. This along with some health issues my husband is dealing with resulted in my losing the streak. If anyone is…
