  • This post caused me to facepalm so hard that when I woke up to post this we were on a new page. Fat Sick and Nearly Dead is proof of two things, 1. Marketing works, and 2. there truly is a sucker born every minute. And all those Dr. Oz buzzwords, Cleanse, detox, kickstart, are you serious here? If you want to detox and…
  • Hoka Stinson Evo, hands down. Rigger
  • I figure consistency is the key. I stay consistent meaning that if I'm over one day I don't try to compensate for it, I just stick to my goal. I haven't had a Plateau. Slowing down when closer to goal is normal so don't sweat it. Interestingly enough, a couple months ago I reduced my goal from 2500 to 2300 per day, and…
  • So much this^^^ That "documentary" was an epic sales pitch though, worked like a charm on a lot of people. Sorry OP, looks like you were one of them. Return the juicer, and eat the veggies. Rigger
  • QFT Ditch the timeframe, it's not important how fast you lose the weight. You're not that overweight so nice and slow is the way to go. Do some strength training and I promise you'll like the results. Figure out your TDEE and lift heavy three times a week, do a little cardio and let the process run it's course. Rigger
  • Not too sure what makes a food unhealthy, that being the case, not sure anything actually qualifies as "cheating" in my book. I guess I'd go with fried chicken since I usually don't do fried chicken. Rigger
  • I'll bite. I survived, and I think I turned out better because of the way I was disciplined. My father used his foot if I got out of line. I spank my kids if they need a wake up call, but they also get talked to so they understand the purpose. My kids are incredibly well behaved, they are great with other kids. Contrast,…

  • Aaaand again, Dr. Oz recommends breathing, I will begin to question the practice. Rigger
  • Just have pizza. It's not unhealthy, it has protein, carbs, fiber, and it's tasty, what's the problem? Go for supreme, lots of veggies and sausage, hard to beat. Rigger
  • She used the word in commenting about two well known "diet" plans. Do you seriously need a lesson in reading comprehension? Rigger
  • Who needs that sciency stuff when you have health and fitness religion? So Pray-tell, what toxins are being eliminated? And how? Inquiring minds want to know. I want to see someone try to remove fat and toxins in their face with one of these wraps, that'd be fun to watch. Rigger
  • I read the whole thing, and just how is your comment relevant? Just because someone throws down the Lifestyle card doesn't mean moderation is a bad idea, and overly restrictive diets are a good idea. My comment stands. Rigger
  • Why are you starting a diet? Diets are temporary, and why does it have to have a name and eliminate food? Cant you just eat ALL the foods in moderation? Rigger
  • De-load. You can also add front squats to your routine. Front squats will force you to have good form by virtue of the fact that the bar isn't pinned to your back. If you have bad form with front squats you're literally going to fall on your face. It'll develop your stabilizers which in turn translates to proper form on…
  • The only thing a wrap does is dehydrate the wrapped area, as soon as you drink a glass of water it comes right back. Chicks do this so they can fit in a dress for a date, and the guys in the fat-boy program in the Military do it before weigh-ins so they can pass a BF measurement before PRT. It doesn't burn fat, or effect…
  • My buddy just told me he's thinking of getting on this stuff, my reaction was an immediate facepalm. I'm going to react the same way here, but hey, good luck OP, heart damage is awesome. :drinker: Rigger
  • I'll say it yet again, if Dr. Oz recommended breathing, I'd have to reconsider my entire philosophy on the subject. Rigger
  • Sure, you can skip it. While you're at it, skip logging pizza too, I mean, if the calories in fruits and veggies don't count, why should the calories in pizza count? This is fun, we should come up with a whole list of foods with irrelevant calories. Rigger
  • Cleaning is just another part of the day. I don't log it. Loggable exercise to me is what I do in addition to my daily activities. For example, I wouldn't consider things like, getting out of bed, brushing teeth, getting dressed or breathing as cardio. Even mowing the lawn and working in the garden don't qualify in my…
  • I was right around 250 when I started, my lifting buddy hasn't lost a pound, so he's still in the 275-280 range. Nothing wrong with being overweight and going to the gym, we all have to start somewhere. Rigger
  • 900 calories is not enough to sustain life long term, let alone the cardio you're going to do. You'll lose muscle mass, but you're going to do more damage than good, your heart is a muscle after all. You need to figure out your TDEE and go with a 10-15% deficit and a lot of slow paced cardio, that's all I'm going to say on…
  • Mostly just stimulants, caffeine and diuretics. Not worth it. There's no quick fix, and no substitute for hard work. If you're skinny-fat, you need to lift heavy, it's a lack of muscle, and not necessarily a surplus of fat. Rigger
  • On our anniversary last year My wife and I went to cheesecake factory for lunch, I went over by 3200 in one meal, then we went to a movie, shopping, and to dinner. By the end of the day I was over by about 5600. Logged it, moved on with life, maintained for the week and lost 2 pounds the next week. Going over on cals…
  • Do I have the testicular fortitude to put myself through, and endure such torture? Of course. Would I ever want to? No! I love meat. Rigger
  • SW 264.4 CW 198.0 GW 185.0 Weight in dates: 2/1- 198.0 2/8- 197.0 2/15- 194.8 2/22- 2/28- Total for February so far- 3.2 Fad a little woosh this week, not expecting quite so much of a loss. Good work everyone. Rigger
  • 900 Calories a day? Why? Doesn't that statement just lend firepower to the troll argument? Okay, legit here, assuming you're not a troll, and that everything you have said here is accurate. Figure out your TDEE, cut at 15-20% below that, limit protein, and do cardio, long, boring, slow stints of cardio. Don't starve…
  • I train when sore all the time, won't hurt anything. As for ways to alleviate the pain, foam rolling and stretching. I also find that a walk helps loosen everything back up. Rigger
