It depends on your fitness level. I have the 30 day shred and liked it for getting back into a routine after having my babies. But once I'm back into it, I get bored easily with it because 10 days of the same is too much for my attention span. I am currently doing Ripped in 30 for the 2nd time and I like it much better.…

I'm actually working on the Ripped in 30 right now, through August. I did it before, and still love it (more than the 30 day shred) Keep going, girls!

I log everything I eat, except when I'm at the cottage with no access to the internet - which is every weekend at the moment and, conveniently enough, when the binges occur... But I would absolutely log if I could and I know that it would help me avoiding the situation.

Hello! Welcome to MFP. I'm also in Ottawa. It's a great place to be for fitness/outdoors activities. You'll find things you like as you go. I like to run along the Canal or by the parkway behind the aviation museum. I love biking in the Gatineau Park or hiking. All things that can be done on your own.

Your workout routine seems good.. you say you're 141lbs, but how tall are you? At 5'5" and 135lbs, MFP had me at 1200 calories to lose less than 1lb per week... I can slowly see changes, and I have a fitness routine that varies a lot but I stay active and eat back *some* workout calories, but still stay below my…

I loved that lentil pasta! But I found that I was really, really bloated and gassy after eating it as a main course... maybe it could work in a potluck setting where I would just have a small portion among other things.

People will freak over this. Pasta and rice aren't unhealthy per say if you don't have any condition. However, they are higher in calories per volume than the alternatives proposed here. Most of us have a goal of losing weight, so lower cal alternatives are good to have. I personally love the cauliflower rice, cauliflower…

I like volume, so I try to find low calorie foods that take up lots of space in a plate/bowl. Also, higher protein foods help a lot so I try to have a good serving of protein with every meal.

I'm a stay at home mom to a 3.5 year old boy and an almost 2 year old girl. I'm always looking for more stay at home moms friends. :)

I have a 3.5 year old and an almost 2 year old at home with me. I exercise every day before my husband gets home from work. My youngest still naps, so when she goes down, I set up my youngest with a movie (he won't nap and is too noisy for "quiet time" with books, but still needs to relax in the pm). That's when I get my…

I don't know what your meals look like, but if you're constantly unsatisfied, maybe you should try to have more protein in your meals. It usually does the trick for me, to keep me full for longer than 30 minutes...

I'm the same height as you and weight is 60kg, so not too different from you. Maintenance is 1650 cals, and I eat 1200 cals to lose 0.8 lb per week. I workout and eat back some calories but try to stay below 1650 total so that if my workout calorie count is off, I'm still under maintenance at all times. Even then, the loss…

banana muffins are a great way to avoid wasting bananas when you bought too much and they are overripe. With just the right ingredients, they can be very healthy and way more filling than just the banana so I end up snacking less after my breakfast - less calories overall. So I'll keep making my muffins. :)

I try to always stay a bit under my calorie goal, which I easily accomplish when I workout (resting now due to injury so my workouts are less intense and shorter, burning less cals)... These days, not working out, I usually manage to stay at my goal or slightly above but still at a deficit. To me, whenever I eat above…

As long as your intensity is the same, your calorie burn should be the same. I'd probably try to do cardio outside (go running, or bike rides) while at home, or strength training (weights, kettlebells, pilates, yoga) in order to get *something* done on the days you're home, but that's just me not liking to have days…

I agree. It's hard not to beat ourselves up when we let it happen, but nothing will change what's done. You only have power over what you do tomorrow. Start fresh. :)

I have one piece of dark chocolate after lunch every day. I may or may not ask my colleague to hide the chocolate from me and just give me the one piece a day... :)

It depends of why you want that. If you simply want to date someone because they're hot and won't consider someone who doesn't fit in that definition of beauty, then yes it's shallow. If, like me, you want to be with someone who strongly believes that health is important and should be a priority, who can understand and…

I commute to work by bike and go for jogs during my lunch break. During the weekend, I commute by bike only with kids in the bike trailer. I pop in short workout videos (20-30 minutes max) when all else fails and do it right when I'm back from work before dinner.

I have. Ask away!

Oh and by the way, good luck with your question.. I asked the same one 10 days ago and got my head chewed off because I was thinking of exercising when clearly I should have been in bed eating ice cream and donuts because life ends when you have pain in a joint..

I injured my ankle too. I've been doing pilates everyday since. It's hard work but yet very relaxing, good stress relief. I'm 10 days in, and went swimming yesterday (slowly), and it went well... I'm almost happy I injured my ankle because I had been doing heavier stuff and as much as I like it, pilates always brought me…

keep the lean protein high; the calories are relatively low and food is filling - that way you won't feel like you're starving on 1200 cals.

I had one for a while, and it's good for what it does; however, it wasn't long before I found it wasn't challenging enough - I couldn't really stand and couldn't reach enough resistance. After a while we opted for a spinning bike. It takes more space than just the trainer, but I don't have to set it up every time and I get…

I used to maintain between 125-130 and after the babies, it was more 133-137. It's not much, but I don't like it on me. My daughter turns 2 in September and in the meantime, I've been able to drop to 127 shortly once. Then slowly got up to 139 and decided to come back on MFP to help me out. I'm now down to 134 and food…
