  • I love Beachbody workouts. I started using them when I was a new mom and going to the gym was not an option, or out for a run became more difficult. I've completed Insanity, 21 Day Fix Extreme, P90x3, Asylum Vol. 1, PiYo, Hammer and Chisel, Insanity Max 30 and Body Beast. I'm heading out for a trip next week and plan on…
  • I have all access and I love it! I always need the variety as I can finish a program but couldn't repeat it for several rounds! I've done many programs now, and working on 21 Day Fix Extreme right now, with the Countdown to Competition meal plan. I always come back to that when I have vacation or an event coming up. P90x…
  • I completed it 2 weeks ago and loved it! I used the meal plan to gain muscle mass and I did. As far as the fat burning, I did burn fat but not as much as I would have liked. So I can see there is new muscle there, but still need to burn the layer of fat that sits over it. That's all in the nutrition though.
  • You must be done by now? I just started a round this Monday! I have done two in the past, and love this program! I like to do it from time to time, in between other programs or, like now, to get ready for a vacation. Using the countdown to competition meal plan. The workouts are short and I am used to longer ones by now…
  • I want to be sure I eat the amount of protein I set out to eat. I could swap fat for carbs - I want to still be on target with calories and protein in the end.
  • I have the containers, used them for a long time and they really helped me get a visual idea of what a portion should look like and how to balance the different food groups in one day. But I think tracking with MFP and using macros is much more precise and also gives you more flexibility (sometimes I want to eat more…
  • I would like to lose about 5% body fat (go from 20% to 15%). I don't mind building more muscle in the process, but ultimately my end goal is really to be shredded whether or not new mass is involved. I have dumbells ranging from 8lb to 30lb; 12kg and 16kg kettlebells, and a bar that can take up to 100lb. I have a bench. I…
  • This post is amazing but with so many options it got quite overwhelming! Looking for my next step, something that has to be doable from home... Any input? OP, I'm in week 9 of Body Beast and loving it!
  • Really interesting and from your other posts I see you as a great resource! Now, I'm almost done with Body Beast and I want to continue working out from home because going to the gym is just now part of my lifestyle right now (mom of two young ones, time and money are obstacles to hit the gym and I have a neat little gym…
  • I am also doing Body Beast! Did a round of P90x3 last year and I loved it. Now wondering what I'll do after this round of Body Beast....
  • If you eat a lot and cardio is not your friend, maybe consider Body Beast? It's focused around weight lifting, cardio only once a week and you get to eat a lot of calories!

  • And here, I think that you should trust the program. It calculates everything for you, it makes your life easier with the containers and no longer need to log and it works when you have a decent amount of weight to lose. If you were tweaking on the last few pounds, then logging is more accurate for sure... But the…
  • I've done many now (Insanity, 21dfx, p90x3, piyo, asylum vol.1, hammer and chisel, insanity max30....) now body beast and it is by far my favorite of them all.
  • I did Insanity, Insanity Max30 and Asylum. Asylum was not as hard as what you read online in my opinion. It was in fact very challenging but much more well balanced as there is weight resistance training in there too. It was my favorite of the three. Insanity my second favorite and I was miserable through max30.
  • Then Body Beast would be a great next step!
  • I workout at 5:15 am.
  • Thanks for the snark. I eat healthy food but still feel that I get sick less often and have more energy with a boost from vitamins. If you don't have recommendations as per the question asked or if you don't like the question, you don't have to write anything.
  • I like to participate in different challenging events. Did a triathlon 2 or 3 years ago and loved it. Considering doing another one this summer if I can get my husband on board.
  • Check out Michael Matthews, muscleforlife.com... great info there
  • I workout exclusively from home. Doing Body Beast right now and enjoying it very much!
  • Many people here with similar stats! 5'4" Current: 133 Goal: 125, however I focus more on looks than scale so who knows I want to lose the layer of fat that hides my lower abs. I want to lose stubborn fat on legs and bum.
  • Strength training. Definitely need to build muscle if you want muscle to show. There are many programs out there that you can follow. I'm doing Body Beast right now and quite enjoying it.
  • Typically people who are lactose intolerant can deal with goat milk/cheese/yogurt... So don't be surprised if lactose free products don't fit the bill either. I don't know where you are loceted in Canada, but most regular grocery store carry lactose free cheeses and dairy, right next to the regular ones in the dairy…
  • You seem like you know your stuff! :) I'm just starting out weight lifting and my goal is physique. I'm at 133 right now and I'd like to lose some fat and gain some muscle. I keep reading about Stronglifts and other Strength programs, but really I'm looking for programs that will build a nice physique - I just don't know…
  • I have dumbells ranging from 8lb-30lb. Kettlebells 25lb and 35lb. I have a bench and a bar that I can load up to 100 lb. No squat rack or machines. Limited space. I want to go from skinny fat to ripped!
  • The macros will work. If you use the containers and log what you eat, you'll end up with very similar numbers. The containers are just another tool, another way of planning your food intake. Because logging and macros doesn't work for everyone. For ME, logging and macros are overwhelming. i prefer to just measure my food…
  • I ditched the scale. It doesn't make me happy. It doesn't deserve all the focus I was putting on it. The number it shows doesn't define me. Now that I'm doing Body Beast, I'm going through a bulking phase so I weighed at the beginning so I can measure my progress at each phase. 3 weeks in, I weighed myself again to…
  • You can do wonders with just a few dumbells and a bench. I do a DVD program called Body Beast, really good to learn the basics
  • Well I'm a bit different I guess. I've been at 1200 cals for over a year and was no longer seeing progress. Plus, it was becoming more and more difficult to stick to that. So I shifted my focus from weight loss to building muscle mass. New muscle will burn more calories while at rest, making it easier to stay lean. It…
