Great song! I like the Simon & Garfunkel version, but love the Disturbed version. "And the people bowed and prayed To the neon god they made And the sign flashed out its warning In the words that it was forming And the sign said "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls And tenement halls And whispered in…

Many years ago, when Russia first opened up, we adopted a child from a rural area in the south of Russia near Turkey. I had never been out of the USA before. We spent a week in Moscow and a week in southern Russia where few westerners and fewer Americans had gone. I'll never forget the scary, the sad and the heroic things…

Thank you for sharing the story about your entering the Marine Corp and your father dropping you off for your trip to boot camp. Really touched me and took me back to last year when I dropped my own son off for his trip to Parris Island.

I understand the feeling. I dropped my son off at Cleveland MEPS in July last year and saw him off to the USMC. It was tough at the time. We didn't see him again for several months. Flash forward to today. Getting away from mom and dad has been very good for him. He has matured greatly and been promoted to PFC and then…

Some references to the Harry Potter series; I may have to read some of those books.

Just started reading the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu. I've just begun to start to understand it, but have already put some of it's wisdom to use in determining how to approach a complicated situation at work.

Below is my humble experience and observations on whether or not the gym works: I joined a gym last year and I use it one to two times a week for 45-60 minutes each time. I only use the gym for strength training (lifting weights). Each time, I do ten exercises (both upper and lower body) x three sets each X 15 repetitions…

You're looking at this all wrong. Look at it as a great opportunity to work out, to interact with your fellow students and to get credit towards meeting a goal (a degree). Go and enjoy it and let us know how it all goes for you. "Change the way that you look at things and things will change the way that they look." ~ Wayne…

So my Browns are back in action. How do you think they will do this year? I'm thinking we should have gotten our QB in the draft when we had the chance.

Thank you for sharing. I actually found this interesting. I also believe I see some of this phenomenon when I look at the postings on Facebook from some of the younger men I know; relatives and my son's friends.

This is mine as well. Absolutely annoying.

As I get older it's becoming more and more of a passion for me. As I see more and more friends and family suffer from obesity related illnesses, I realize that this is my fate if i don't change and improving my fitness is becoming more and more of a necessity to me.

Thanks for your feedback. I started the book, but I'm not enthralled. I don't think I'll be able to finish it.

I would not do it. I think it positions you to be influenced or preyed upon by unfriendly spirits / unfriendly entities.

Anyone read "A Hologram for the King" by Dave Eggers? Is it a good book?

Couldn't disagree with you more. Small talk is part of what makes us human; what bonds us together and brings a sense of communion between strangers.

I used to drink it all day, but it started to keep me up at night. Now I stop drinking it at noon and switch to water.
