@IIwolford is correct on all counts. You are already wonderfully and beautifully made. Don't lose sight of this and focus on your weight loss and fitness for your overall health and well-being.

I'm 52 years old and live in Akron. I started lifting again about 18 months ago. I had a history of golfer's elbow (although I don't golf). I use an elbow band applied just below the elbow on the forearm. An older, very athletic, friend recommended this to me. It works very well. The pressure the band exerts stops the pain…

Not to eat the Halloween candy as I'm handing it out. And to get some exercise in. Thumbs up on both goals so far.

My son is active duty USMC. I remember him telling me they do lots of running and lots of pull ups and other calisthenics in basic training. Talk to a recruiter and ask them what they recommend.

Lots of Ohio people on MFP.

Friday afternoon is here and I hope each of you had a great week! Now that my son is back at Camp Pendleton after his 3 week visit (leave), I'll be hitting the road again on business travel. I leave Sunday morning for Virginia and North Carolina. I usually get my walking in when I travel, but I really miss getting to the…

I used to wear a Copper/magnetic bracelet and it helped reduce and eventually eliminate a wrist and elbow injury and associated pain. I've since stopped wearing the bracelet and the pain did not return :) I don't judge people or their beliefs, so these are a serious questions for those who use Crystals --> 1. What are the…

@janetay01 --> Thank you for the encouragement. I love the blanket you're making! @jdelaroy , @gemwolf110 and @rachel0778 -->Thank you as well for the encouragement; much appreciated. Today's update: Well I was hungry and ate some Oreo cookies here at work. Wish I hadn't, but I did, and I'm not going to beat myself up too…

@JessicaT1299 Nice quotes! --> "One workout at a time, One day at a time, One meal at a time." "Be patient, your body will reward you" @gemwolf110 is that salad or cabbage Kimchi in the mason jar? Love Kimchi! Also, love the pictures of the fur babies. Ours is an 11 year old black lab named Katie. My update for the day:…

Hello everyone. My name is Doug, and I would love to be part of a motivation group and to make new friends. I've lost 50 pounds total (25 pounds on MFP), and I need to lose another 50 pounds. I do strength training at the gym 2x to 3x week and this has been good for me. I'm getting stronger and my clothes are fitting…

I'm sorry you're hearing these words. I heard them when I was in school, so I know they can be painful. I don't know you, but I know you are a unique, precious and special human being (you were created that way) as we all are. Do not let other people define you. When they say these things to you, it is a reflection of…

Been there, done that. Used to work 6pm until 6am. Night shift is a different world. Messes up your sleep, appetite, circadian rhythm and so many things. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do to keep the job and take care of the family. Just take care and be safe.

I just saw the movie "The Girl on the Train." I liked it; very different. Now I want to read the book. Did you like the book? Was the movie true to the book?

Focus on what you can control. Prioritize the safety of yourself and your family. Take it one moment at a time and understand (realize) that there may be damage to the physical things (home, car, etc.) and that you may have to deal with some level of chaos for a short while. I lived in Texas and went through a hurricane…

Just curious; what is Skol?

Hello all. I'm new to this group. My name is Doug and I live in the Akron, Ohio area. I recognize that I'm an emotional eater. Stress is a trigger for me. When I'm stressed, I go for the comfort foods; pizza, chocolate, chips, etc. or sometimes for the wine or beer. I own my emotional eating, and I'm working to do better…

@JonDrees, first of all, kudos to you for pulling this group together. I'm training to improve my overall health and fitness. As I grow older, I want to maintain my mobility, vitality and ability to do what I want to do. I don't want the knee replacement, hip replacement, stroke, heart attack and other weight related…

OP, you are not alone. Thank you for your post and for the discussion on this topic.

Please feel free to add me. I'm on MFP each day and you can't have enough friends or motivation on this journey.

I definitely will check out Staind's cover of this song. Sometimes the remakes are better than the original. I like Disturbed's version of the Sounds of Silence better than Simon & Garfunkel's original; more powerful vocals.

@Villae81 I agree; this is one of my favorites as well. Love Pink Floyd.
