  • Being a teacher here, I have noticed this trend too! I teach music and do a lot of movement games and I've had Kindergarteners...yes, 5 and 6 year olds, tell me they get "too tired" to participate! How can this be?? They should be running circles around me at that age!!!
  • Oh, something else that might be helpful..if there is a local health food store in your area, they may sell an "all-natural" cola. The one near me sells one called "China Cola." It looks and tastes like coke, but it is made with natural herbs. That might help you get over the hump.
  • This is a good idea! They also have at the grocery store I shop at some flavored carbonated water. It has the "fizz" of a soda, but not all of the chemicals. Definitely something to look into!
  • I have been weighing in twice a week lately..Tuesday and Friday mornings.
  • I totally agree with you!! I've said this before on other threads (and think it almost daily when I read things on here). The more we call things "bad" the more appealing it is going to be..it's that whole "hand in the cookie jar" type of thing. For example, I plan on having a bowl of ice cream for it. I don't think there…
  • Wow..awesome job!! Keep it up, hope the bf gets on board too! It's always easier to go through that with someone else!
  • Awesome job! Keep it up!!
  • Hi there..also in Michigan, down in the Detroit area here!
  • I decided to start training for the Detroit Half-Marathon in October! I have always enjoyed running and one of my good friends was visiting this weekend and she was talking about doing a half-marathon, so I looked up when a local one would be, and it is October. Plus, this gives me plenty of time to build up endurance..I…
  • Yeah, you know me..gotta keep it real! I honestly think a small indulgence once in a while is a good thing. Denying yourself too much can lead to binging later, at least in my experience.
  • Dang, honestly, I think that's some pretty decent will power to stop at 9! I bought a bag of jelly beans and ending up polishing off the entire bag in about 24 hours..hahah...
  • I'm not good with computers, but my friend, who uses photoshop all the time says: 2.0 Gigahertz duo-processor 2-4 Gig Ram (4 is better) Good Graphics Card Big Hard Drive Good Monitor Hope this helps a little!
  • UGH! I feel the same way a lot of times..when I taught High School choir..I got a lot of the "blow off" class thing. Or, "you're job is sooo easy" trust me, it's NOT. And now teaching elementary music, it's REALLY not!!
  • Okay..either Tatiana IS on some sort of drugs, or she NEEDS to be!! hahaha...
  • I put myself as sedetary, but honestly, I NEVER sit down except at lunch..I should change that to at least lightly active.
  • Wow! Thanks! I may have to try that if I'm craving more of them!! haha...
  • Wow..I've never been charged for extra veggies!! I've only heard of them charging extra for meat and cheese. Next time, check and see if it's listed on the menu..if it's not case, you may have a case there!
  • I think we've all been called something that we didn't like at some point in our lives. Just remember that you know what a good person that you are and no matter what anyone else says, they can't take away who you are. It doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt when they do say things, but just know that you a great person!!!
  • For me, I'm one of those people who will think about having something and then if i don't have it, I'll go crazy and binge on in later..so, I decided to allow myself to have something small, that way I don't feel deprived and I don't go overboard.
  • OH THE GUILT!!!! HAHAHA....Guess I'll just do some extra workouts.
  • Uh oh..it's that time of year again! I absolutely LOVE Shamrock Shakes from McDonalds, and they only sell them around this time of year for St. Patrick's Day. I have decided that I will not give them up completely, but to only get a small and not as often as I usually would!!
  • I think as long as isn't all the time, the occasional splurge is okay. (300 calories over isn't THAT horrific) i hope you enjoyed those tacos!
  • I really like mine! I've been using it every day for almost two months, and along with eating healthier, I've been able to drop 12lbs since January 1st! Like some of the others have said, anything that motivates you to get up and move, go for it!
  • I think Danny was good..but as Simon said I'm not on the "bandwagon" yet. I like the blonde girl with the pink stripe too..love that bluesy voice!
  • Congrats!! Remember, slow and steady wins the race! And, if you continue having great weeks like that, but next year, you'll be 50lbs lighter!!!! Keep up the awesome work!
  • I've definitely noticed that too! I went to Mongolian BBQ with a friend and I used to be able to polish off 3 bowls easily..and yesterday, I could BARELY finish 2!!! Honestly, I think I would have been perfect with just 1, but it tasted SOOO good!! :)
  • I love American Idol! I watch that and record Biggest Loser and watch that on Wednesdays..it's so hard when two of your favorite shows are on at the same time!!! Argh!!!
  • If it was a few specific students, I would make phone calls home to parents. If it was the class as a whole, loss of recess time and/or write apology letters. I'm an elementary music teacher and I had a class of 5th graders who are usually really great..but they were awful for me and their teacher made them stay in from…
  • So, guess what they played on the "oldies" station here in Detroit....Michael Jackson's Beat It!!!! When did music from the 80's become "oldies"?!?!?!? I remember listening to that when I was a kid!! Sheesh!!
  • Could you just have 1 piece and maybe bring a salad for the rest of your lunch?
