Hey there...I've been using my dogs as extra motivation too! One of them is overweight, so I've been taking them on 2 mile walks at least 2-4 times per week. It's that extra little push to keep me active as well! Best of luck on your journey! This is a great site!

I don't look at having a "sweet treat" or something similiar as "being bad." Why feel guilty because I want some ice cream on a hot, summer day, right? I also enjoy being more active. I have found that I feel and look better because of it!

I just took a Master's class over the weekend and we were talking about how the kids taking these tests show nothing more than they know how to take a standardized test! There are a lot of very smart kids who don't do well on these students because of pressure and what not. They definitely need to come up with a better way…

I'm glad you've said something! I'm totally the same way...I eat always all organic or all-natural foods..but every once in a while, I'll get some candy, or fast food. I don't see anything wrong with that once in a while.

So, at my school, they are having a "staywell challenge." We were put into teams of 3 and can earn points for doing healthy things like getting 30 minutes or excersize, eating 4-5 servings for fruits/vegetables each day. Not sure what the prize is, but it's an extra boost of motivation!

I wouldn't be too worried, I was totally like that in my teens and early 20s too! I was very active and was hungry ALL the time! Unfortunately, I became less active and kept the eating the same, hence the weight gain!

Just remember that if there is a special holiday, or you do "fall off the wagon" that you get right back on the next day! Don't "wait until Monday" or whatever.

I think a lot of the troubles in our thought come from the old way of thinking: You have to starve yourself and excersize 5 hours a day to loose any weight. I went out and bought two full sized candy bars and ate them both back to back! I wasn't planning on doing that (especially with my weigh in tomorrow) but, did it anyway! Ugh! But like the others said, tomorrow is a brand new day!

With all the walking around at Disney, I'm sure that you were able to burn off a lot of those calories..I wouldn't be too worried. I SOOO wish I were on Spring Break, I still have two more weeks until we go. Ugh!! The kids were CRAZY today!
