  • Wel done! The fact that your ran the whole way is awesome! Race for life pretty muddy run? I'm taking part in it today at 11am, but my legs are so sore from Fridays strenght based training! So stupid for thinking the soreness would disappear by Sunday. I'll be walking/jogging with my friends, it's going to be such a laugh!
  • amazing! Did you have many problems with loose skin? I've been worried about this more than anything.
  • 62lbs lost but my progress has been slow. Will be joining a gym soon with a personal trainer to keep me on track. But still anything is better than how I used to look before. 242lbs: 180lbs:
  • Congrats! I'm 5'5 and my heaviest recorded weight was 242 - I have lost 60lbs so far but scared about excess skin, because my belly doesn't look too good at the moment. It may tighten up once I have lost all the weight but I can't help but be worried. Have you found excess skin an issue?
  • I'm in - my progress has been pretty slow - Last Summer I gained back 20lbs! I just want to get to my goal! Summer in the UK starts on June 21st so I aim to lose around 40lbs! Which will nicely put me under 150lbs, good luck everyone!
  • 5'5 and 147lbs, but you look much lighter :) I hope I look like that when I reach 147lbs! Amazing work!
  • Well done!!! A friend of mine was morbidly obese, she weighed 320lbs and she was losing about the same as you per week to begin with - your obviously doing something right!
  • If you eat around 1500 but burn 400kcals through exercise - you are actually under eating. I didn't know this and after 2 weeks of my net been 1000/1100 I began to feel very dizzy! As soon as I added the extra 100/200 calories everything was cool and I was still losing the same amount of weight. Just make sure your net…
  • I weigh myself once a week after being 'cleared out' if you know what I mean :P This way when I weigh myself I get an accurate reading. For me, there is no need to weigh in everyday because my diary reflects my weight loss accurately. After a week of following my diary strictly, I know that I have lost weight - I don't…
  • I agree, you can't do it forever - its just not enough calories. But I usually switch it up. This is my last week on 1200-1300. Then I'll go back to 1500 for maybe 3 weeks and back to 1200-1300 for 2 weeks. Also, I have once a week where I eat quite a bit (1700kcals plus exercise) which partly makes up for eating so little.
  • I don't work out which is why I'm eating around that much. I live away for university and don't feel comfortable jogging outside. But when I go back home I exercise since we have a treadmill at home. Wish it was here with me! And yes, when I do exercise I make sure my net is 1200, I've kind of made that mistake in the…
  • The last 2 weeks I have been eating around the 1200-1300 calorie range and lost exactly 2.4lbs. My weigh in day is on Tuesday, but I couldn't resist and checked yesterday and have lost 2.4lbs, so 4.8lbs in 3 weeks. Very happy with this. I am still pretty heavy so I guess this is why the weight is falling off so quickly.…
  • I agree! I am always at the high end of my daily carb intake and am successfully losing around 2lbs a week on a 1200-1300 diet. The carbs are having no effect on the actual weight loss. This may depend on the actual carbs I am consuming, but either way calories is the main thing. Feel free to add me to view my diary
  • feel free to add me if you want to view my diary!
  • I'm always at the high end of my carb intake (average 205g) I am eating around 1200-1300 calories per day and am losing a minimum of 1.6lbs a week. I weight myself every Tuesday, but already this week I have lost 2.4lbs. So the carbs are obviously not doing any damage. Oh and its important to note that I eat around 1500…
  • I've lost a little over an elephants penis... GET IN!!!
  • I'm the same height, and your current weight is actually my first goal weight, You look absolutely great and have definitely motivated me further!
  • I'm buying clothes in July for a trip abroad, but the big shop will be in October, can't wait!
  • I'm 5'5. My highest weight was 242lbs, my current weight 179.6lbs (no longer in the 'obese' category!!) My goal is to reach 150lbs - that will put me in the healthy BMI range. However, depending on how much extra fat I'm carrying I will carry on losing weight till need be. But to reach 150lbs will put me at ease for life!
  • You have to log in everyday, and be honest! Also there is no point in guessing your portion sizes. I have digitial kitchen scales - cheap and spoon and cup measurements. Without them I would either underestimate or overestimate what for example100g actually looks like. I can 100% guarantee a weight loss every week because…
  • lol people on this forum are a little ocd. Since I was a kid my mum has been making chicken curry and leaving it out in the cooking pot (covered) overnight. I have never been sick or ill from eating 1 day day old left out chicken curry - Even it being left out 2 days has NEVER done my any harm!
  • I use low sodium salt
  • In south Asia we have a dish called Aloo Baingan - I absolutely love it! The soft texture of the potatoes and the mushy texture of the eggplant are a match made in heaven! http://www.manjulaskitchen.com/2008/09/28/aloo-baingan-potato-and-eggplant/
  • I use low sodium salt in my cooking, have you tried that?
  • Pure cod fish fingers (3) and cherry tomatoes on wholemeal bread. I use a 400g loaf, its much smaller than the average size bread, which means lower in calories! This comes in at about 320 calories, but ofcourse it all depends on the bread and fish finger brand you are using. I like to have tomato ketchup with mine :) Also…
  • I've stopped telling the people around me that I count calories, instead I just say, 'I'm really watching what I eat and its working for me'. You see when I tell some people I count calories their initial thought is 'Thats a bit over the top/obsessive'. But for those who are serious about losing weight, calorie counting is…
  • I couldn't wait either now I can't wait to reach 179lbs - that weight gets me out of the 'obese' bmi range!
