Currently, my goals are to remember to eat 3 meals a day, do some form of exercise 3x week (probably Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday), and to keep working toward health. :)

Your husband sounds a lot like my boyfriend. Easiest swaps for us were to do turkey burgers instead of beef all the time, investing the money in buying higher quality food (farmer's marker, lower-fat meats), and adding more pork into our routine because holy carp, low calories! I also started trying new recipes, and my…

Does 24 years count? I'm logging daily, and my diary is open to friends. Anyone on this thread is welcome to add me.

5'3.5", CW: 150, GW: 125. Open diary for friends, currently at 1200-ish kcals a day. Anyone on this thread can add me. :)

Thank you. I'm noticing that I'm finding it harder to eat 1200 kcals the more the scale doesn't move. I thought it was calories in=calories out...

Generally around a lb. Sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less. The past two weeks were nothing (or the scale went up!) and it finally moved down today.

I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey in Double Chocolate Rich. It's delicious and dissolves well.

I'm 5'3.5", and my goal weight is 115-125. I'm planning on lifting weights as I get more flexible, and so I may find I've hit the look I want at a higher weight than expected.

Also, total broscience as provided by my SO in the example was taught to him in health class in high school. Proof curriculum is not up to date? Check!

Thank you for the linked study- I appreciate it very much! So, eat the protein. Don't go over macros. Don't freak over 1.2 lbs. You all are wonderful. Thank you so much.

I quietly showed him the articles AliceDark linked me to above, and I got an "Oh. I was wrong. I'm sorry." And then later, it turned into "Hey, how much protein should I have a day?" and a whole discussion about protein, macros, TDEE and BMR. Yay, learning about nutrition and having a relationship where we can both admit…

I could HUG you right now. Thank you so much! :flowerforyou:

Heh, tried that. That earned me a "But gaining fat and protein are linked!" I In what study, dear? "I-er. um. the magazines I've read allude to that?" Which would be mostly Men's Health. I just shrugged, and am now intent on finding a study. He knows better than to believe all the things he reads, and yet he loves this…

Protein making you heavier= broscience. Check. Now to find studies that show that so I can properly inform my SO. He's also working to get healthier, so I don't want him to have bad information either. Yes! I have been measuring, and next Sunday is my next measuring day- I know the inches have gone down because…

If you don't mind prepping the night before, muesli is a good option. It's a cold oatmeal, basically. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/125819383314051907/ That's where I first got the idea. Today I did one with one greek yogurt cup, 1/4 c. quick rolled oats, 1/2 c. milk and some cinnamon. Tasted like dessert, and kept me full…
