  • I guess that would depend on the size of your fingers... :)
  • I typically only log in my exercise if my numbers are red. Otherwise I just consider the exercise a bonus toward my goal. If I eat more than normal I will log in my exercise just to keep me in the green. If I still go in the red.... it's a bad day. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Nutrition Facts For Foods
  • If you are running to lose weight then fueling your body for running is your goal. Protein is key to building and maintaining muscle but not at the same levels for a runner as opposed to a body builder. Strength training with reasonably heavy weights (not 3#) 2-3 times a week will give you what you need to maintain your…
  • Complex carbs first thing in the morning along with protein will sustain your energy. Aim to eat complex carbs with protein at each meal but in smaller quantities of carbs later in the day. Carbs can make you sleepy but also give you quick energy.. strange how that works. Eat an apple forty minutes before your workout for…
  • Same here but I have cut back drastically. I only use it in my tea, nothing in my coffee and try to use honey or other natural sweetners in oatmeal or other baked goods. I do like the Raw Sugar in my hot tea instead of sweet-n-low.
  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS QUOTE!!! I may have to steal it!!!
  • I AM GOING TO WORKOUT TILL I DON'T JIGGLE!!! I absolutely LOVE THIS quote! I may have to steal it!!!!
  • Oh, to have that much time in my day that I could spend 3 hours working out.
  • Prefer cables and free weights. Do use some machines occasionally especially if the free weights area is crowded. But noticeable results came from overall workouts not one specific type of weights.
  • 46 here but tell my students I am 56 just to hear them say... NO WAY! You don't look older than....... (insert incredibly ridiculous number here). I decided this was way better than claiming to be 27 when my daughter is now 23.
  • Keep it up!!!!. It takes time but it sounds like you are on the right track.
  • I would love to hear more about the fitbit. What do you think about it, how does it work. I have seen several advertisements but have been skeptical. I LOVE the idea of competing with myself trying to beat my numbers.
  • I have to play games with myself and set little mini goals. I like you am very focused for a while. So this time I set a goal to record 50 miles and then I would treat myself to a pedicure. Every 50 miles I get a pedicure.... some come sooner than others but it's a start.
  • I am sooooo there!! I too lost over 75 lbs about four year ago and kept off most of it but twenty five pounds has somehow crept its way back on. Trying to get in the groove again as well. Finding encouragement here from others with a similar struggle. My daughter is getting married in October so that is a bit of a push but…
  • I guess I should also say that if I have been to the gym for a later work out and won't be going to bed until much later than normal then I would not hold myself to that 8pm time frame. More like I don't eat anything two hours before I go to bed, but I WILL drink a glass of almond milk. :)
  • Being a notorious night time snacker is why I HAVE to limit myself to eating before 8pm. Otherwise I will graze all night long. If I know I can't (am not going to) eat after 8pm I make sure to eat something so that I am not ravenous and can hold over untiil the morning when I can eat breakfast.
  • AGREED! ANYTHING worth having is worth working for.....
  • A little bit of both. When you get tired of saying, "I want to lose weight" and it never happening then you will start to figure out what changes you have to make in your life to MAKE it happen. I was in my forties before I got tired of saying, "I am going to lose weight before...(insert family event here)" and it never…
  • Hello ladies, I am with you on the one time gung ho gym rat to now slacker. I have started going to the gym more frequently in the past two months and remember how much I loved working out. Now if I can just keep up the motivation. I loved P90X and Insanity as well as runnign 4-6 miles four to five days a week. NOW, it's a…
  • I'll bet it's more than the customary $12-$25. :) (The dentist quote just cracked me up! Only to be surpased in hilariousness by the shampoo girl practically being a doctor!! Thanks for the chuckles!!!!
  • I hear where you are coming from. I too was very motivated before and lost over 75 pounds but lost my desire to be at the gym after work. I let my laziness get in the way of getting up early and as a result pretty much stopped exercising in general. I am now trying to get back on the horse and remember what motivated me…
  • Here I go again! I'm 46 and lost over 75 pounds in 2007-2008. A job change in 2010 has changed my exercise and eating habits so now I am throwing everything I have at this journey again. Knowing now that whatever I am doing to get to the goal I will have to KEEP DOING to stay there (or MORE). Can use all the support and…
