  • I think it's okay to buy a couple of new things to make you feel beautiful and look good, but I've been shopping thrift stores. If you're willing to put in the time you can get some great finds for very little money. I've found Lerner New York jeans for $0.50 that still had the tag on them because they were running a…
  • For some reason, I am always afraid that there is a skeleton standing in the parts of rooms that the hallway light doesn't reach. I've had that fear since I was a kid. I know it's absurd, but the hair on my neck still stands on end when I pass a dark room.
  • A woman coming out off a coffee shop witnesses a very strange funeral procession: two hearses, followed by a woman walking a dog, followed by about 30 women in single file. Curiosity gets the better of her and she approaches the woman walking the dog. "I'm very sorry," says the woman, but I have to know; who is in the…
  • Pizza, anything made from potatoes and covered in cheese, mac n cheese (the ooey gooey homemade kind), and S'mores w/peanut butter.
  • You are getting more healthy so you can do and be more for your family. That's what I tell myself. I want to be around to welcome my great grandchildren into the world and teach them about their family. I can't do that if I have heart disease before I'm 40. I too feel guilt about taking the time for me, but it's not just…
  • Y'all are making me hungry for something cheesy. I once made a Paula Deen cheesecake, It had a graham cracker crust, then a layer of chocolate, then a layer of caramel, then a layer of cookie dough, then the cheesecake layer and then topped with chocolate ganache. Best damn thing I ever baked then ate.
  • Oh my God YES!!!!
  • You've totally got this. Best of luck to you!!!
  • Thanks for this post. Very insightful and motivating. Congrats on your accomplishments thus far and best of luck on your journey. You're doing a fabulous job and are in the right frame of mind.
  • I work for a medical equipment company. We received an Rx for a kid and the name on the Rx was Le-a. We were thinking Leah. When the rep called to confirm delivery with Mom, she said, "It's pronounced Le-dash-a. The dash not be silent." We still joke about that one and we've seen some doozies. LOL!
  • My girls names are Samantha and Michaela (the REAL spelling of Makayla). and we came up with them pretty quickly. If we had a boy my husband wanted to name him Famous Danger. Thank GOD we had girls. LOL!
  • It's different for everyone. You will find that once you do get used to it, and it starts to get easier, you will find ways to try to make it harder. If I don't ache or hurt I don't feel like I worked hard enough now. Best of luck. Keep at it and don't give up! YOU can do this. If I can, anyone can.
  • You're totally going to make it. Don't focus on that last 20 though, remember the journey thus far. The finish like is in your line of sight. You've GOT this!!! So very proud and inspired.
  • Love this! That said, you need to find what works for you. It's different for everyone. It will take some time experimenting to find your happy medium. Best of luck!
  • Just try again tomorrow. Everyone has bad days (I've had a bad MONTH). In the great words of Scarlett O'Hara - "Tomorrow is another day."
  • I'm 5'4" Heaviest = 282 Lightest = 205 Currently = 236 Goal = 150 I am most definitely a work in progress. :flowerforyou:
  • Wow. Someone should hit those women with their limo.
  • I have been at this for nearly two years. It takes dedication. And NEVER stop trying. I lost 76lbs in 8 months and have gained 30lbs back. But I never stop trying. I will NOT go back to where I was. I still have bad days. Heck, I have bad months. But I NEVER stop trying. You can do this. It's never going to be easy. It's…
  • 1.) How old are your children and how many do you have? (share names if you wish) I have two daughters: Sammie is 5 and Michaela is 3 2.) Will you be planning to have more kids in your future? Nope. Two is plenty for me. 3.) How was your pregnancy/delivery? Sammie was a 24 hour nightmare. Michaela came within 8 hours of…
  • I'm in! I could use some motivation to get me off this plateau and back to losing.
  • I agree. KEEP GOING. I've been at this nearly 2 years. The first year, I lost 76lbs in the first 8 months, then my husband was going through some tough stuff at work and stopped dieting with me. Without him to compete with, I got a little too relaxed and put nearly 30lbs back on. I have been stuck trying to get rid of…
  • Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm that fat girl who thinks everyone at the gym is looking at me funny. But I still go, 5 days a week and spend an hour there, not making eye contact, head phones blaring as I sweat on the outside and work out things in my head on the inside, Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
  • I've been on my journey for nearly two years and I've been stuck at the same weight for nearly 8 months now. Burned out? Hell yes. Giving up? HELL NO!!! I know that at some point I will break out of this and get to where I want to go. I'm persistent.
  • A girl at my office doesn't sweat either. She's very fit, eats very healthy, drinks plenty of water and barely glows. I ran a 5K with her last year and I swear she finished it in just under 30min and was bone dry. I say lucky you. An hour at the gym and I look like I just stepped out of a rain storm.
  • Thank you for that! To hear from an actual therapist that I am not in the same league as the common axe murderer because sometimes I don't like being a mom makes me feel a whole lot better. And I did struggle with posting this because I knew some people would not understand but I wanted some input and I wanted to be honest.
  • Yes. it is hard to raise children. And the people who are saying they understand where I am coming from and are reading between the lines of this post are actually right. I DON'T feel that way all the time. I DO get overwhelmed. And I agree with you, it would most likely benefit me to talk to someone to help me work…
  • My 3yo needs to grow a bit so she can keep up. Right now, I hit the gym at 4:30am before everyone gets up so I don't miss out on time with my family.
