If you want to BUILD muscle you must eat in a surplus. Approximately 200-500 calories over your maintenance I believe. And NO cardio and hit the weights heavy. Definition and building muscle aren't the same so it depends what you're really wanting....

Im 5'7" and I had to lose about 15 lbs before my size changed. Height makes a difference. For some of my friends who are quite a bit shorter than me 5-10 lbs makes a huge difference up or down. For me 5-10 lbs hardly shows.

meh I gave up wine for a few months...bad idea. Now I just have one glass on Sundays. Makes me happy :) no need to give it up completely!

Well remember 80% diet 20% physical activity Is there any reason why you only do upper body weights? I'd start by making sure to get a food scale and get your portion sizes under control and exact. I'd also find some workout plans that rotate through all muscle groups

eh it is a little low then. I'd say definitely eat back your exercise cals. You'll the lose the weight at 1280 but it could be hard to maintain once you hit your goal weight. My first time through that's what happened with me so now I'm eating a little more and losing a little slower, but hey it's a marathon not a sprint…

I guess it depends how tall you are and what your goal weight is. I'm 5'7 and MFP has me at 1320...but I eat more than that. I NEED more than that. I could also depend what kind of exercise you're doing.

Same. I can practice moderation for sure....and was doing so well with emotional eating until these last few weeks and boom! It was like damn it had been almost a year. For me it's definitely stress-mental, physical, and emotional. I think it's just something that takes time to overcome....

I think so. I think it's just different to each person. First, it's about loving yourself only then can you really give all of yourself to someone and if it's right they'll love and accept every part of you. I think it's hard work. I also think it's finding the person who puts your happiness before their own and vice versa.

I try to not eat a lot of gluten b/c I'm sensitive to it....otherwise there is no reason to go gluten-free. It can cause an intolerance later.

The lowest I've ever been was 131 back in November. Right now I'm closer to 140ish as I was trying to build up some muscle. Now I'm trying to get back to a more muscular 135. I'm trying not to focus too much on the scale weight though. Right now I fit in most size 4s.

I use old fashioned quick oats for time. The instant packs are favored b/c of the additives in the flavorings. I mix in some fruit and/or cinnamon in mine. Up the protein!! Aim for a g per LB of body weight. Cut back on sodium and if you're wanting to tone up make sure you're doing some weight training. Good luck!

are you exercising too? and what foods are you eating? the quality of food will definitely make a difference in weightloss. For example "clean" vs processed.
