My GP just looked shocked when he looked back at several years worth of my weight at physical time. I had to explain bulk/cut to him. He was floored that I manipulated my weight up and down without many issues. But he was also happy that I was just choosing smaller portions of a healthy balanced diet and wasn't following…

2-3 days. For example I had a big carb weekend July 22-23. I weighed in on Friday July 21 at 186.2. Monday July 24 I was 191.5, by Wed July 26 I was back down to 186.2.

As others have said, it's what works for you. For me, I need to have something about 1 1/2 hrs before I lift, usually 2 greek yogurts. Then I eat after lifting. I've attempted to lift without eating something beforehand and I get sick to my stomach.

Vit D because I tested way low Multi-vit Baby asprin (Dr recommended this) Fish oil That's about it right at the moment.

Soooo much envy here! Only a partial basement here and my oldest is living in it while going to school. To make room in the garage I'd have to give up my automotive tools and woodworking equipment :'(

Wait... you're 300lbs? I know most shoot for 1gram per lb bodyweight, which is just slightly higher than recommended for weightlifting folk but lower than what they recommend for natural competitive bodybuilders.
-
Where are you getting that from?
-
That range is 0.8-1.2 grams protein per kg of body weight or 0.5 - 0.8 grams per lb of body weight. Although I have seen it listed as high at 2.3-3.1 grams per kg. But that was for professional natural bodybuilders that compete. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4033492/…

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24149748 From the summary: "This study investigated the relative muscle activity of the hamstring group and selected surrounding musculature during the leg curl, good morning, glute-ham raise, and Romanian deadlift (RDL)." "hamstring activity was maximized in the RDL and glute-ham raise."

The top one might if all you do is hold as long as you can. The grippers, from what I read, improve pinching/crushing grip strength but not much carry over to static hold strength. Fat bar grips are supposed to work too https://www.amazon.com/Fat-Gripz-Ultimate-Builder-Blue/dp/B005FIS14Y Versa grips (straps)…

3-5 mins on heavy sets. 60-120 seconds on accessory lifts. Funny, on leg day 3-5 mins never seems enough, on bench day it seems too long, lol.

What, if anything, are you doing for hamstrings? Hamstrings help stabilize the knee. Way back when my PT had me incorporate hamstring curls 8 weeks after ACL surgery (was stationary biking for PT too). And, as others have said, weight loss is about how many calories you eat.

Hmm, I lost weight following CICO when one specific hormone was, as the Dr put it "if I saw this report without meeting you or knowing your age I would have said it's from someone who's in their 80's". And I didn't gain scads of LBM after being put on therapy. It wasn't until I started lifting weights again that I saw an…

Farmer walks work well. You can just grab dumbbells and either hold as long as you can or walk with them. Another is getting 2 plates, like 2 5lb plates and pinching them together as long as you can. Lastly, hang from a pullup bar as long as you can. I gave my straps to another lifter after I got a set of Versa grips. I…

No, as I could easily blow through my deficit for the week with one day over eating. I do have a reefed day about once every 10 days. I eat 200 past maintenance on that day, no more than that. Really don't change what I eat just up the portion sizes.

Haven't ventured into this space yet but our PF has something similar in a room off to the side. One of these days I'm going to try those battle ropes and also the jump platform.
-
Yes, I realize that's not a front squat. I miswrote. But whatever it's called it still hits the front quads quite hard. As for RDL, I do them both free style BB and, when I need to, at PF using the smith machine. I can't tell any difference between using the BB or the smith machine for RDL. Back squats in smith machine, no…

45-50 mins 5 times a week lifting. If I go to the commercial gym on the weekends for extra lifting sessions then it's around 80 mins.
-
Actually, I disagree with the bolded sentence. I think you can, at least at the PF I go too. I wouldn't be able to powerlift but I could definitely switch to a BB program and add mass by progression.

I really dislike the term "fast food". I know it's been called that forever but to me it's a bit of a misnomer. I mean if I can make a sandwich at home in 1 min did I just serve myself "fast food"? There's a couple diners around here that have lunch specials, so they have most of it ready to go. So if I'm served the roast…

Nothing wrong with the PF by me. I get most of my heavy lifting done at my workplace gym. Those days I can't make it over or if I want a weekend session I can accomplish a good lifting session there. There are some fairly muscular people at the one I go to and they work hard when they are there. About the only no-no I've…

Black coffee straight up. I enjoy the flavors and aroma's I get from just coffee. Unless it's a cold winter Saturday night...then a liberal amount of Bailey's Irish Cream goes in. It could even be said it's a 3-1 ratio of Bailey's to coffee but those nights are kind of fuzzy...lol

I think pounding them down until they are about 3/8-1/2 thick, then marinade in a zip lock or dish, and a quick grill (4-5 mins) per side is the way to go after trying quite a few methods. They come out flavorful and moist. You can either serve them as is or cut into strips to add to salad. I've used different marinades…

Oh yeah! Use it for stews, soups, beans, roasts, pork chops, etc. As said above it's great as it doesn't heat up the kitchen if I don't feel like grilling outside.

I have to limit to 1 or 2 (spaced an hour apart) otherwise I get ravenously hungry and will tear into anything available. If I don't space them out, then drink 1 and 2 are like "hey 3rd drink, come on down there's a party", then drink 3 invites drink 4 and the next thing you know the whole roll of summer sausage is gone.
-
Alright then, that makes more sense. Good luck and have fun!! Let us know how it turns out.

Beans in that chili or Texas style? Just had to ask.....

Haven't had a gout episode in 3 1/2 years. Haven't thrown my back out either since losing weight.

Good for keeping you cool on a hot and humid summer day or when wearing Level A suits.....weight loss, not so much. As hot/humid as it is around here right now I could use one but I ain't forking over that kind of money.
