He said he is 63kg. 63x2.4 = 151.2 grams of protein. He also said he's upping to 140grams. That's only 10 grams off and I wouldn't categorize that as "far too low".

45 mins 5x a week for lifting.

47 1/2. Thank God for muscle memory otherwise I'd be a lot worse off. 4 years back in this lifting game. I'll take the tiny gains as long as I keep moving forward. Now if I could just figure out if repairing the deck today (working for 6hrs) counts as aerobic, lifting or circuit training..... :)
-
Neither. I ask myself whether it's tasty on it's own or do I need to do something to it to make it tasty AND, does a serving fit into my calorie goal (plus the usual, blah, blah, macro/micro, healthy, meeting nutritional needs).

I wonder, and also wonder if Lyle might address it, is to look not only at the where you are in your lifting journey but also the age of the lifter. I have no studies (and don't plan to look) but I'd 'think' that a 16 yr old male, who is in a growth spurt, might make more muscle gains than someone in their 30's on a larger…

Hmmm, I didn't know he had a new book. Tells how much I've been paying attention..lol
-
I can see that. I think I had to read Wendler's 531 book (the first, don't have Beyond), 2-3 times before it made sense.
-
I was more curious than anything else. Probably not a protocol I'd run but it is interesting reading about difference strategies.

Thanks.

@jospen83 your shirt had me laughing out loud IRL! Co-workers wondered what was so funny :D
-
@Gallowmere1984 Is that 2gr per lb of the top bulk weight, 2gr per lb goal weight or 2gr per lb LBM?
-
Yes, I agree with that. Wasn't intentionally paying attention and before you know it...bam, you look in the mirror and see someone you don't expect. Been there and it's quite surprising.

Amen! Couldn't run when younger due to asthma. New inhalers helped a lot and worked up to 2 miles a day (yeah not a lot, but a lot for someone that used to do a mile in 18 mins...lol). Now, after ACL repair decades ago, no cartilage on one side of my right knee. No way to run, as when I've tried it the knee will swell up…

About $200 per week on food including going out (buy one, get one free burgers usually) for a family of 5 that has 3 teenage boys. I buy meat in bulk when there's a sale on. For instance a while back pork loins were on sale for $1.49/lb. Bought about 40lbs and it lasted for months. We try and do the same for side stuff.

When I didn't really want to invest in a new suit I went over to one of the wealthier areas and checked out their thrift stores. Unreal some of the clothes you can find. Picked up a brand new sport coat (still had Nordstroms tags in the pocket) for $20 while the original tag said $275.
-
Depending on what I wear my clothes can weigh between 4-6lbs, so 4lbs extra sounds about right. My normal weigh in time is during the lunch hour right before I hit the weight room. I've checked the scale with clothes and just in my skivvies. Biggest difference is whether I'm wearing my boots or tennis shoes.

I find this "too sweet" odd myself. My wife sometimes says something is too sweet and I've heard other people say the same thing but I honestly have never found something too sweet. And believe me I can eat all the deserts!
-
Whoa, no cheese? How can one eat crackers and drink wine without cheese?!
-
Rather have bourbon.....

For those that didn't grow up on farms, field corn isn't as sweet, nor as good but makes great silage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silage

Full time job, don't live on a farm anymore but (and I know this has gone off topic) but I ran the numbers on what our meal cost last night: 8 6 ounce pork loin chops $5.97 ( I buy 8-12lb packages and cut them myself, $1.99/lb) 2.54 frozen broccoli package $2.54 Family sized seasoned rice $1.84 Mustard grilling glaze for…

Not really disgust, more frustration. Episodes of gout, trouble breathing from large stomach pulling on diaphragm and a weak back. What finally got me determined was throwing my back out with a sneeze (yes a sneeze), laying in bed and having a gout episode come on during the same time. Most miserable I have ever been and…

Also the reason it's used in making delicious whiskeys and bourbons, lots of fermentable sugars.

My family tears through those boxes of clementines like a tornado through the Midwest. Same here, I eat sweet stuff, but can easily taste the sweetness in fruits and vegetables. It just really irked me that this was up towards the top of the page on cnn.com. Not to mention while standing in line at the grocery store and…

I powerlift, haven't competed yet, and journal my sessions.
-
Are you adding weight to the bar each week? As others have said, small surplus and progressive weights over time.
-
I have no issues with PF, find it convenient and cheap as a secondary gym. If the lifting room at work went away, yes there would be no squats or DL, until I figured out how to get back at them, but in the meantime I could get a good solid lifting session in at PF.

We get a discount for being in a "healthier range" on BMI. If you're higher that can be off-set by the waist measurement and that's the way I get my discount. Still have a bit of love handles and some around the middle but I come in at 35 inches. BMI has me at overweight. BOT....Only a few (maybe 35?) where I work would be…

Yep, log all alcohol intake, whether beers, glass of red wine, mixed drinks or straight up bourbon or scotch.

For me...fried liver. Or just about any way to prepare liver (shudder) :# I think I read somewhere that the various religious orders of monks, for fasting or penitence, would be where they did not eat. However, beer was not considered food during that time, so they would drink their yummy beer. THAT I could do for fasting…
