Don't give up on squats until you have tried. Box or bench squats. Only squat i will do based on the condition of my back and my balance issues.

Well we tried in the past with one in the backyard but, lets just say the animals had a ball, deers, raccoons, bears. When it was all over we had nothing and the animals had a feast. Gardens are actually quite nice looking as well.

I am going to comment on this topic considering its right down my alley. I was a powerlifter for 15 years I was squatting 600lbs without wraps and a belt. That was about 20 years ago. Now I have very sore back (to the point of stopping me from moving) I decided even though I have a disability that prevents me from touching…

Personally thats the kind of sore i look for. Muscles getting sore is ok, you don't want joints to ache is my biggest warning. My wife loves playing the POKE game when i am so sore I cant be touched.

Totally false. But, 3 hrs is a bit much. If i was going to spend 3hrs in the gym i would break it into 2, 1 1/2 hr sessions.

If your not weighing your food, your taking a big risk. Calories add up fast and if you are over by a few each meal they will not leave you with a deficit, GET A SCALE is the only answer to this post.

Consume a good amount of protein while keeping my overall diet very healthy and lean as possible. I always lift heavy but its mostly about diet if you don't want to lose the muscle.

If you are not hungry do not stuff food down just to get it in, adding undue stress to your body that doesn't need to be done. Our brain can trick us into thinking its hungry. Not exactly the same story when it comes to being full.
