  • The only thing you need to worry about with seafood is the sauce it comes with.Whether it is prawns dipped in mayonnaise or delicious seabass with beurre maitre d'hotel, what will do you in is the sauce. Oh and obviously if it is fried. Seafood is rather 'inexpensive' calorie wise. Cod for instance has 100 cal for 100 g.…
  • Guess you'll never forget the cal count of bananas now. Sometimes you have to learn the 'hard' way. Let's just hope it doesn't wreck havoc in your stomach... :flowerforyou:
  • Convict conditioning? LOL! For real though, those guys are ripped.
  • I never thought of weighing the whole cooked thing and assigning calories per 100 g. Great idea! Thank you for your input friends, as always !
  • When i started going back to the gym after a two year hiatus, i had pain - and still do - everywhere ! Lol! Even on the sole of my feet! That's how sedentary i am..... !!! Not to mention of much my bum hurts at spin class.... It will get better with practice.
  • I have done the videos, and i do 'real' aerobics at the gym. I would say it is somewhere inbetween walking and low impact aerobics. You could input it as walking brisk pace. If you are doing Leslie's work out with extra weights, i would input half the workout as walking brisk pace as half as low impact aerobics. Keep…
  • Buuuump! Wanna see more progress like this! so inspirational!!!
  • I like going to the gym for classes, so i can learn the exercises and the proper form. Then, i can replicate at home. Also, i am always more into a gym workout than a home work out. Must be something about the music they play there, lol.
  • Seriously. Christian Bale > Everyone at Everything. Period. Christian Bale is a gift from the gods. He is so ****in' perfect. Also, for giggles, the techno remix of his famous rant on the set of Terminator: http://youtu.be/YTihsJQHt48
  • My colleague, who was a high jump european champion and is therefore very knowledgeable about nutrition, exercise etc. from years of doing that as his job with the best coaches around, would tell you 'yes! Definitely!' (We had that talk with him about three weeks ago). He also said that it shouldn't last long, i.e. a…
  • If you can, get iodized salt. Because our diets usually lack in fish and seafood, we tend to lack in iodine, a nice nutrient that keeps your thyroid going. So a salt supplemented in iodine is 'better'. But by all means, always go easy on the salt, as you know, too much of it can cause high blood pressure etc.
  • I really enjoy vanilla soy milk in my coffee. It gives it a very nice flavor and sweetness, without a dreadful amount of calories.
  • Stay "against the grain", log your food and support your friends on MFP while you eat alone, read the paper, plan your next meals :) Save the calories and save the money too!
  • I make my own bread, and i would recommend you do it too! I use all organic products (except the dried yeast), i add bran, flax seeds or pumpkin seeds, and it turns out great everytime. No palm oil, no sugar, a quantity of salt which i choose. Worth it in my opinion. The only very difficult thing for me in a ordinary oven…
  • Thank you for sharing. It made me laugh!
  • Bump, and saved.
  • Well, i understand your predicament. I think that one important thing to realize is that a big part of eating healthy is not eating processed foods. The least transformed the food, the better nutrional qualities they have and the more you control what goes into the recipe. (No extra sugars, no extra palm oil etc.) This…
  • Maybe some people have very elaborate dishes to log... With many many ingredients... I am a pretty fast logger i would say, and do it as i eat so i don't forget anything. I also enjoy the fact that we can pre-log and see exactly where we are going with that pork chop!
  • Exaxtly what she said. I use it to cook fish filet. I save a little quantity of the cooking quantity i have measured and let it melt on the fish as i serve. It gives it a faint coconut taste, soooo good! Make you you get extra virgin coconut oil in a glass container, not plastic. You never know what plastic molecules will…
  • Thank you for your answers! For now, i cannot really go beyond 1 kg as everything is aching and shaking as it is...lol. Hopefully, i will be able to increase with time! Ok for the rest days, that's also a point i needed confirmation on.
  • I weigh in once a week, every Monday morning. I find it's just right now to get overtly obssessive. If i see a fluctuation, i can trust it is a 'real' loss or gain, i.e. Not water retention.
  • Fruit parfait? Waouh! I've never had quinoa as a sugary dish, sounds great though. It is not that difficult to cook. It is justlike couscous. Pour hot broth over it (with a little extra layer on the top) and let it soak in the broth and cook. If too crunchy, repeat with less broth. Enjoy! I like quinoa mixed with pureed…
  • Totally YAY! i love it! It's easy to measure, it doesn't take much at all in a non stick pan to cook my fish. Then, i let just a little bit melt on the fish once it is cooked. I really love the taste! works fabulous with asian style tofu woks. YAY YAY YAY for Coco! Edit : i suppose all woks are Asian, sorry for being…
  • Or throws it all back up! Seriously, alcohol is loaded with calories. It makes you lower your guard in terms of healthy choices when consumed with food, it has no health benefits whatsover, despite what the wine industry would like us to think. I read somewhere that nuts should be treated like a condiment. Alcohol should…
  • Tagged for future re-read and bump!
  • Go for it!!!!! If it is still difficult, start small and increase speed and distance little by little. You may really enjoy it and then you won't be able to give it up and you'll even save on gas! Win win !
  • Agreed! If you are 75kg, you are 75kg of toned, lean, super hot bod' ! You story is inspiring to me because we have basically the same measurements. ( i a twice your age though ) i started three weeks ago at 92kgs and i am 1m77. Since i have done this transformation once already (and relapsed), i know the amount of…
  • Bravo! You look good! I hope you are proud of your accomplishments. You really should be!
