  • Only on 273 miles for the month so far. Taking it easy after last month's epic >1000 miles. Rather than long miles I've been concentrating on fast miles and improving my 10 mile TT during my commute - quickest so far is 28 mins! Highest average for the 15 mile commute is 21.1mph.

  • Had to ride 16 miles in to work yesterday and then rode 42 miles home again (literally setting off in the opposite direction), but it was worth it. 1680 kilometers / 1010 miles DONE AND DUSTED. Half the distance of the Tour de France ridden in the same month! Day off today (my first day out of the saddle since May 12th) -…
  • 1,456 kms of 1,680 down! Almost there!
  • I've not ridden a stationary recumbent, but on my regular upright I tend to burn 1 calorie every 6 seconds. 40 minutes makes for roughly 400 calories burned. Hope that helps!
  • Nah, I get bored on a spin bike or turbo trainer. Road miles only!
  • Road cycling's my sport of choice. 19/07 - 20.95 miles, 080 mins 37 seconds - 0876 calories 20/07 - 08.44 miles, 049 mins 26 seconds + 30 minutes turbo trainer during a bike fit - 0730 calories 21/07 - 57.52 miles, 213 mins 36 seconds - 1947 calories 22/07 - 44.48 miles, 163 mins 35 seconds - 1571 calories 23/07 - 24.82…
  • I'm up for this. Should have covered 1,000 miles for the duration of July and am looking for a reason to do similar in August!
  • 1400 kilometers / 800 miles down, 280km/200mi to go! On the home stretch now!
  • I'm new to MFP but not to road cycling - saw this thread with interest and was looking forward to the next! I'm up for a slot in the Vuelta if it goes ahead - planning on hitting at least 750km during the race. Fairly tired from this month's 50% Tour distance though!
  • Cool tickers. Made one for my month's mileage! I'm not so much into running but I do love to cycle.
  • This mileage is taking it's toll on my body. All aches and pains at the minute... still managing to crack a few personal bests though! There's a category 4 climb only 15 miles from work so I headed on up it on the way home last night - 3km at an average grade of about 8%! The new bike felt fast as hell on the way up which…
  • Laid down another 34 miles on a quick detour home from work, so by the time I've got to work tomorrow I'll have passed 1300 kilometers for the month! :)
  • Hey guys, newbie to the site here. I recently had this little number built up as an upgrade from my 1988 steel Peugeot. 6.6kg all in! There's a huge album of images here, including the bike against a blank wall for you purists! http://imgur.com/a/ebkEC#0 Cheers
  • Cheers! 30 miles per day for the next 9 days ought to do it. Just hope it doesn't rain so I can stay on the carbon wheels! Good luck to all!
  • Hi guys, first post here on MyFitnessPal I'm just about on track for my July cycling goal (1000mi/1680km), but it's starting to slip from me. I did however just get a new bike on Saturday which is likely to boost my mileage! Half the weight of my old steel bike at 6.6 kilos, so it's difficult to concentrate on distance…
