1200 calories a day won't hurt you. end of story. not unless you have a ridiculous calorie requirement. you will not go into starvation mode, your body will not shut down, you will not bulk. that's all mythos.

if I go to bed too long after my last meal I can't sleep if I have any hunger. I usually eat a few crackers and that's enough to stave off the hunger enough to fall asleep. a single graham cracker or a few dr kracker snackers is enough.

what you need to remember is it won't happen over night. you shouldn't try to loose too quickly and you shouldn't have a diet that is so severe you're hungry all the time. this is a life style change not a diet. it's important to fully understand that. there will never be a going back to the way you were if you don't want…

the vast majority of breads passing themselves off as whole grain are actually ****e in the grocery store. You have to be very careful and read the ingredients for what is really there. but we do have some quality breads. it varies depending on what part of the country you're in but they are there. IMHO a quality bread…

yup, I have my dinner late and eat light during the day.

five is really early for dinner. can you stretch it out between meals and eat a little later maybe.

I think it makes sense. it puts pressure on your face, around your eyes and I think that triggers tired feelings. same as when your eyes get red and sore. Crying also makes me groggy. (same thing)

but yeah drinking more water and exercising can help move the water move thru the system somewhat. coffee and tea are also natural diuretics. also make sure you get enough potassium. I use the low sodium salt with supplemented potassium. it does seem to help over all. I used to not use salt at all but I've found using the…

Depends on you. for me even getting close to the daily limit causes bloating and groggy. going over at all is guaranteed misery. we've been travelling for hte last week and I've eaten out a lot. I've gained 6 or 7 pounds (I haven't eaten THAT much...) I'm planning a super low no sodium diet for a couple days to get back to…

This... eating five bananas is hardly a binge to be ashamed of. I don't think this is a borderline problem. you aren't eating enough and your body is craving the nutrients it needs. that's what you're impelled to eat five bananas. they're full of vitaminy goodness. you need it. your health is more important than a couple…

I've not read the whole thread, I'm sure someone has already said this but i'll say it again.. a pound overnight is waterweight. nothing to fret over.

I'm 5'2.5 and normally I exercise 2-4 times a week (but haven't been recently due to surgery) I find there is no notable weight loss for me unless I eat 1300 calories a day or less. I am sure up to 1500 or so i'm losing but very very very slowly. (currently at 163 aiming for 120's)

you are being too kind to her. Moffat may not be able to write women well but Clara cannot manage any expression other than smug and bemused even when the script clearly calls for it. Not sure if it's too much botox (even at her young age) or if she's just incapable of any other emotion. I can't get past it with her. she…

I loved 11... at first.. but somewhere along the way they started writing out his gravitas and then when they brought in the beastly Clara all plot left the building. I was glad to see Matt wave buh bye. and I hope Clara is not far behind. Some of the worst episodes were last season (almost the entire season) I didn't like…

I'm not swimming at all right at the moment (recovering from surgery) but when I get the all clear I'll go back to a few days a week to five days a week of swimming. I don't really have a routine. I'm not a great swimmer. still learning really. so I just do what I can to get from one end of the pool to the other. we…

I think the OP is hoping for people of a similar weight and height to get and idea of normal

I get an upset stomach from tea. I think it has to do with Tannins. brewing it lightly is ok, brewing it for a long time nausea. I prefer coffee as a general rule because of this

when I was a kid we didn't know anything about food temperature safe zones. I am pretty sure those eggs were out 24 hours sometimes. at the end of it they all got put in the fridge and ate over the next week or two. as far as I know we never got sick from it. (not sure how that is...) but I'm still alive..

Wow op, you're friends with my mom.. drives me NUTS

I trained myself to just savour one bite of a thing at one point in my life. and think.. this one bite is as good as ten. what will ten bites get me that this one does not get me? If I am really honestly hungry I can still over eat on something naughty. But generally I'm pretty good at keeping it to just an ounce or two of…

If I eat out I tend not to track for the day, generally because I really have no clue what to put in. the kinds of places I eat out are not places that are large enough to have a calorie count on their meals. I'll probably keep tracking even once I get to maintenance because I've realized how easy it is to underestimate…

If you are getting on the scale, then getting off the scale and then getting right back on teh scale and get different results then your scale is buggy. If you are getting on the scale adn then weighing yourself again an hour later or so it's just water and waste fluctuation.

800-1200 is not considered a VLCD. it's 800 or under that is considered a vlcd medically. 1200 is the lowest considered here just because it's the lowest number where you can still hypothetically get all the nutrients you need to be healthy.

generally 2 or 3 in the afternoon

if you have three eggs 150 is significant calorie uppage. if you are watching cholesterol it is also a concern. i only take egg whites and save the calories for more enjoyable things (like cheese!)

I spent a month in the Czech republic and Germany a couple years ago. I really loved the brown bread they served for breakfast. Brown bread and mild cheese was an excellent breakfast. I ended up being pretty much vegetarian when I was there. the other omnipresent thing was red peppers onions and zucchini sauted. the weird…

on sweet bread, yeah I haven't bought standard store brand style wonder bread type stuff in years. I buy whole grain bread without added sugar. oat and sunflower seed bread is my favorite. we also buy a variety of seed breads. most of the people I know also eat a higher quality bread than the super sweetened kind.
